The best restaurants in Mayo

26/08/2025: My husband and I popped into this cafe before our train needing a hearty meal served fast and couldn’t have wished for anything better. Our order was taken very quickly and the delicious food was served soon after. The breakfast came with coffee / tea. A much needed pick me up before a long journey. Thank you so much!

06/08/2025: Delicious food! This was recommended for my last lunch in Claremorris and did not disappoint Beautiful cappuccino Chicken chorizo , spicy mayo with chips Fresh and hot Friendly service with a smile ;-) Thank you so much for a lovely meal

16/10/2025: Gorgeous Bookstore, calming chill music lots of great variety of new and second hand books without being overwhelming. Even have a coffee station. Lots of local themed books to the area which is great.

18/09/2025: Very friendly and knowledgeable owner in a gorgeous shop perfect for a browse and a coffee. The shop is in a beautiful setting in Westport Quay, County Mayo. Well worth a visit

20/10/2025: We are locals. I wanted to bring our visitors from Madrid here for lunch on a rainy Saturday. They are foodies and I had explained that Savoir Fare is probably the best lunch spot in town and was recently recommended in The Irish Times. We arrived just before 12 noon and I was pleased to see empty tables because they don’t take reservations. I was told very bluntly “I cannot serve you”, because we were a group of 6. I asked if we could divide into 2 tables of 3 which were set for lunch and unoccupied. I was told “I will not split the group. I cannot serve you”. The way he said it was rude. The other diners were all watching. So we left. I stood outside on the pavement in the drizzle, super embarrassed in front of our visitors. Bruised, we walked up to The Clockhouse Cafe and after a short wait, we were seated. Not the same offering at all, but we were welcomed, and served with a smile.

20/07/2025: Delicious, beautifully prepared, locally sourced food with French flair. Savoir Fare is exceptional and not to be missed, a real treat. Alain and his team are lovely hosts with a really deep knowledge of food that shines through in the scrumptious food served up.

09/10/2025: I went to Jalan jalan the other day and it had great food, I ordered one of the spiciest things on the menu and it was not as spicy as I had hoped for but was still delicious. I also ordered the spicy chips and those were great, as for dessert I got two scoops of vanilla ice cream and as for the drink I got pineapple juice. would highly recommend

07/09/2025: Usually Ive been here before but this was the first time in a while ive came and it has blown me away. The white wine was gorgeous and it was the best food I’ve had in a while which is why ive written a review this time. Went out for my sisters birthday and the food was top tier. We ordered ribs and wings for the starters and the ribs must have been cooking yesterday with how tender they were and the bbq wings were so flavourful. I had the steak ciabatta and it was gorgeous, not tough and perfectly cooked. Nearly licked the pepper sauce. Our server Honzi was funny and witty and the rest of the staff were lovely. The restaurant was done up and it looks lovely.

02/09/2025: Rock solid. Really enjoyed it. Staff had no problem with a late check in and an early check out. Stayed for 2 nights. Good breakfast and good evening meal. Perfect for what I needed. Tks to everyone

11/06/2025: A Standout Spot in Castlebar There’s truly no place like The Bridge Street Bar in Castlebar. It brings something fresh and modern to the town from its stylish interior and vibrant atmosphere to the consistently high standard of service and presentation. The staff is always on point, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. The drinks are excellent, and there’s always a great buzz whether you’re there for a casual evening or a big night out. Its central location makes it the perfect meeting spot, and it’s quickly become one of the go-to venues in the area. A brilliant addition to Castlebar’s social scene; highly recommend it!
