The best restaurants in Mayo

14/03/2026: It's excellent for relaxing. The breakfast is very good. There's a Lidl nearby, and if you want to go for a walk, you'll find a main avenue about 400 meters away. It's worth staying there.

08/03/2026: Rooms were clean, quite and spacious. The service in the restaurants and choice of food for breakfast was very poor. I would not stay here again.

24/08/2025: What a special place! The atmosphere was beautiful, lovely Italian music and gorgeous furniture. The service was excellent! We felt welcomed and they waited for us even if we were late. And the food. ..how lovely it is to find fab real Italian food when you live in Ireland?! Thank you so much. We wish you many years of success!

02/12/2025: Blue Thunder do the best ¼ pounder & chips. Better than all the other chippers around! The chips are always cooked to perfection! There so nice, you don't need to add salt or ketchup! Just wish they were opened Sunday's!

05/10/2025: Where locals go for a meal, it can never be bad. All age groups are represented here: students or business people on their lunch break, seniors enjoying a late breakfast. The service is fast and friendly. The food selection is perfect for brunch or lunch. I had a toasted sandwich with a soup of the day, both very tasty.

16/10/2025: We had originally booked for six, but one of our guests couldn’t make it. Despite the change, the Owner was incredibly accommodating. We dined in the hotel restaurant and had a meal for five, all different dishes and every single dish was excellent! Even if you’re not staying at the hotel, I would highly recommend a visit to their restaurant but book ahead. Overall we had a great weekend on the island and the Achilles Cliff House Hotel was definitely a contributing factor.

30/09/2025: Couldn’t fault our stay in the Achill Cliff house. Bedrooms were big and spacious, beautiful views, lovely and clean. Breakfast was amazing, tried everything throughout our stay. Would recommend the smoked salmon, delicious and the portions were huge ! The hotel itself is located in a very handy spot for the Achill Golf Club, or the beach. Would definitely stay here again. Staff were lovely and very welcoming.

17/07/2025: I was in Westport for the Bluegrass festival and went here twice! Loved the atmosphere and the coffee and food were great! Definitely recommend

24/10/2025: Can't resist stopping off here for a coffee when I'm passing through, what a hidden little gem. The taste is in a word 'perfect' (every time). The staff are cheerful and attentive, as soon as you walk in its unmistakable and adds a real personal element. A made to order cappuccino costs €3.50 which I would consider underpriced for what your getting "but shhhhh, don't tell anyone". You'll notice them take a bit more care and time than some of the larger chains and you can definitely taste the difference in your drink. If you have your own coffee machine you can buy a bag of coffee and I can honestly say its the nicest coffee I've found so far and I've tried a lot, branded as 'SUNDAY' it's a medium roasted Aribica/Robusta washed blend and a 1kg bag costs €30 and considering the best tasting supermarket coffee I could fund was Lavazza @ €25 it was well worth the extra €5 but a professional barista will always win when it comes to a taste test. Try it once and prove me wrong, I DARE YA!

26/09/2025: Sincere thanks to Staff for helping me when I missed a bus connection by a few seconds on Wednesday night last. I am an older person, using a walking stick, my phone was dead, and anyway I had no taxi numbers. It was late and it was dark. Staff were happy to call a taxi, they also offered the possibility of a lift as they had a delivery on my way home. I was delighted to accept a lift, I heard since that not all taxi's go out late.

05/07/2025: We were passing through Ballina. The kids wanted pizza and we chose Domino's. We waited 10 minutes and ate in the establishment. Neat and clean in the hall. The toilet is stellar. The pizza is very tasty! We will definitely come back to you again!

01/03/2026: Only stopped for a quick bite..limited menu mainly sandwiches 🥪 but great soup and plesent staff 😋 locals enjoying the beers and the company of the staff..typical Irish rural bar. Loved it

09/12/2025: This is a great traditional Irish pub. No food, it's not a restaurant, it's a pub. Good Guinness and friendly staff.

04/01/2026: It's a lovely place, but there was at least 5number games in the arcade that were not working. There were no signs up on the games to say they were broken, it was only when I put the money into the games was when I found out they were broken. There no was no refund on my money, there was no staff checking up on the games to check if they were working and there was no obvious place/signage to/how complain to a staff member. Apart from that everything else was perfect.

04/01/2026: Lovely place and really fun evening out. Only feedback is that a lot of the arcade machines were not working and took our money without any refund

12/11/2025: Played this fabulous creation with a Lifetime member in October. It was part of a weekend of Golf.Texas scramble. 4 ball better ball. Best set of par 3s you will find anywhere. Fab greens brilliant welcome from Management.Golf shop and clubhouse staff. 4 amazing days of golf. Thanks Peter Jim and Stacey for your company. Highly recommend a visit. And the town of Bellmullet has amazing pubs and restaurants. Oh and the Guinness.
