16/12/2025: Very disappointed with hygiene standards Was in Café M in Castlebar recently. Food itself was fine, but the hygiene practices I observed were poor and hard to ignore. I watched food preparers carrying out multiple different tasks while wearing the same gloves throughout — including scratching and then continuing food prep — without changing gloves or washing hands. Gloves are only effective if they’re changed regularly; clean hands are far better than dirty gloves. I don’t blame the staff on the floor — this looks like a training and management issue rather than individuals not caring. However, food hygiene has to be taken seriously, as it directly affects customer safety. I hope management review their procedures and provide better training, as this is easily fixable but very important. Also the coffee had a slightly sour taste. This is common on a machine that needs a little TLC.

11/11/2025: I've had breakfast here about 5 or 6 times in the last 8 weeks, the breakfast is good except on every occasion they've used stale bread for the toast.

05/10/2025: Where locals go for a meal, it can never be bad. All age groups are represented here: students or business people on their lunch break, seniors enjoying a late breakfast. The service is fast and friendly. The food selection is perfect for brunch or lunch. I had a toasted sandwich with a soup of the day, both very tasty.

10/04/2026: Excellent hotel the food was delicious reasonably priced too and staff we're very friendly I cannot fault anything except that a wet chair would have been handy or a hoist for the pool

09/04/2026: Excellent hotel, it was very clean, the food and staff were amazing and very friendly. I would highly recommend it. The pool and gym are very well managed and spotless clean. Only suggestion I would have would be to make the pool area more wheelchair friendly. It needs a hoist and a wet chair for showering wheelchair users. I will definitely be back.

09/12/2025: This is a great traditional Irish pub. No food, it's not a restaurant, it's a pub. Good Guinness and friendly staff.

16/04/2026: We, 2 couples, had a lovely time in ‘mixed’(!) weather over the Easter weekend this April. Attentive staff, comfortable rooms, great food, flexibility and help, plus extras like afternoon tea for drenched walkers!

10/04/2026: I visited Achill Island to explore the island and hike through Nephin National Park. The hotel was in the perfect location to explore all those places. The staff were great. Very kind and welcoming. The food was delicious. The only issue was with the room. I prefer a cooler room at night and I could not turn off or adjust the heat in the room which made it a bit challenging to sleep. There was also a generator or heating system that kept running during the night next to my room which made it hard to sleep due to the running noise it made. Overall I enjoyed my stay.

01/09/2025: Our first stop after landing in West Ireland and it was fantastic, amazing food and a lovely atmosphere with all the local chatting acorss the entire room.

08/11/2025: Wow! An amazing hotel and 10/10 hospitality from the staff. Traveling with a baby can be nerve wracking but the staff at the hotel did everything to make our stay comfortable and kid friendly. Will definitely be back.

06/11/2025: One star off for instant coffee sachets in the room and a tin pot of coffee at breakfast I.e no decent coffee to be had. Otherwise decent hotel.

19/09/2025: Didn't stay overnight, hence my blank comment on rooms. Convenient and friendly and excellent quality food. Only complaint was no salmon in the net🐳

06/09/2025: Visited today for dinner had the Cod&Chips. Absolutely delecious. Nice large portion off fish,fresh tarture sauce, mushy peas, and amazing crunchy salad. The only minus was the chips. They were french fries and skimpy and made the dish look small. I would rather eat home cut chips (that bit larger and more appeasing on the plate). But no complaints on taste. I had the cheesecake desert, 10 out off 10 delightful. Overall the food was 5 star and the staff friendly, well presented, and professional. Lovely relaxed atmosphere bright airy and clean. Overall 10 out off 10 for me. I will be back.
