The chips are perfectly crispy, the batter is light and fresh, and nothing ever feels greasy. It’s clear they take massive pride in what they do. If you’re looking for a proper, top-tier takeaway with service to match, this is the only place to go. An absolute local gem!I actually had great intentions of taking pictures of the takeout bag and how well it was all laid out in the trays, but I was so hungry I just landed it on the plate and snapped one quick photo before I got stuck in. I didn't have time to dress it up or make it look fancy, but it tasted incredible!

28/07/2025: Delighted I stopped off in the village and visited. Lovely traditional pub with character. Was reasonably quiet but it was a Sunday night. Just got the end of a trad session that happens every Sunday evening. Had a nice chat with Greg behind the bar. I'll certainly call another time.

12/10/2025: Extremely Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Price I stayed at Pure Magic Achill Island for 2 nights, and it was the worst accommodation experience I’ve ever had. We chose it based on the good online reviews and clean photos, and paid €270 just for the room. However, upon arrival, I was completely shocked. The room was not clean — there was hair all over the bed, and the bed linen clearly hadn’t been freshly changed. When I complained, I was offered another room with a double bed, single bed, and bunk beds for two of us and it was even worse. The room smelled like an old college hostel and had a tiny bathroom roughly partitioned with hardboard. When I asked for a refund to find another place, they refused, leaving me no choice but to stay in the first room. The shower water didn’t drain properly, the toilet wobbled when sitting on it, and even the towel was jammed into the sink. The whole building was old, dirty, and poorly maintained. Overall, it was a total nightmare. Definitely not worth the money and I do not recommend this place at all.

21/09/2025: Pure Magic is a place close to my heart. I’ve stayed here many times, and it never disappoints. Nestled at the foot of Slievemore Mountain, it’s perfect for a peaceful, tranquil break. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and easy-going. The food is excellent—highlights for me are the lasagne, which is a special, the warming seafood chowder, and the decadent white chocolate crème brûlée. Breakfast is just as good, with perfectly poached eggs and a great balance of healthy bites and hearty indulgence. Keel Beach is a short cycle or drive away, perfect for a morning dip in the Atlantic. From the property, you can also enjoy walks to an impressive megalithic site and the Deserted Famine Village—great hikes without being too strenuous. I can’t recommend this place enough.
