05/10/2025: Where locals go for a meal, it can never be bad. All age groups are represented here: students or business people on their lunch break, seniors enjoying a late breakfast. The service is fast and friendly. The food selection is perfect for brunch or lunch. I had a toasted sandwich with a soup of the day, both very tasty.

08/01/2026: Stunning food in an hidden location of Westport! The food was extremely delicious and fresh, service was excellent! Large selection of dishes made with locally sourced products! Definitely recommend

26/10/2025: They work hard in The Western Strand ~ We wern't guests in the hotel so we came in 3 minutes before close (8:30pm kitchen closed that Thursday) and there was no issue being seated and menued (shows great kitchen discipline, although try not to do what we did, spare the chef)! They do an open mic on Thursdays which sounded great and added fantastic atmosphere. The food was delicious and the waitress was delightfully friendly. The presentation of the food was tops. Very happy, will be returning for dinner again in the future.

06/08/2025: Stayed over last week for a few days, and I honestly think I couldn’t have stayed anywhere better in the EU for the same price. The room was basic and what you’d expect, the bed was very comfortable and the sower and toilet worked as they should. The coffee and tea facilities were great, and plenty of room to hang your clothes etc.for a single room it was excellent. The pub downstairs was excellent too for food and entertainment on most nights, location is the best in the town. Take it from me you’ll love your stay here, the owners and staff couldn’t do any more for you if they tried. So for the few moaners in the review section you really need to give your head a wobble. 27/09/2025: My husband and I enjoyed an absolutely delicious meal at Cullens, previously Cong’s theatee v The menu offered many delicious items to choose from. The onion soup was absolutely delightful, perfect balance of other vegetables along with the onions, which were the highlight. My husband enjoyed every bite of the duck conft salad. For the entrée, I enjoyed a very rich and tasty shrimp and lobster risotto. Scott was wowed by the sole which was deboned at our table. The servers were very friendly and shared the history of this venue. !Chapeau! Hats off to the chef! And staff.

17/09/2025: We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. Marianna (hopefully I spelled that correctly) was amazing. She was our waitress and she made the best drinks + great conversation. I had the pasta with clams and mussels- amazing. My wife had the chkn. Everything was great, excellent and we had a great time. Dessert and the Irish coffee was excellent as well. Highly recommended. We stayed at the lodge.

20/08/2025: We needed four meals to takeaway, two of which had to be vegan and one vegetarian. There was no issue ordering vegan versions. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The sauces were delicious, the vegetables beautifully al dente, the meat tender and flavoursome, and spicy was just the right amount of spicy. The rice was not sticky, not too dry. The re-usable containers are great and will be used again, and again. The price was very reasonable (ca €50 for 4 mains). The ordering process was uncomplicated, the waiting time was just right, the staff member we dealt with was friendly and helpful. We will definitely visit again the next time we visit Ballina.

13/08/2025: This Nepalese restaurant is one of the best I’ve ever been to. I ordered dish number 32 — I don’t remember exactly what it was, but it was perfectly spicy and very tasty. The place is nice and the staff is friendly. I recommend it!

29/12/2025: We had a family meal here and everyone was very happy. We got beef Cantonese, beef in hot garlic, sweet and sour chicken and chow mein. Everything was delicious, even the small kids were happy. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or nicer and the food was served much faster than I had expected. Lovely restaurant, would recommend to others. Didn't take photos as we were too eager to eat 😁

24/12/2025: My man from Shenyang. I had a takeaway from here recently and it was great. Chefs special amber fire steak, not too spicy ... just right ... will definitely be back next time in town

12/12/2025: Old world Irish pub. Management and staff always up for a bit of fun. Owner constantly trying to accomadate everyone and groups including organising outside food for partys/Hen/Stags. Great spot for watching sports and again if multiple games on at same time staff will try and have it on one of the multiple tv's.
