04/02/2026: We went there for dinner on the bank holiday Monday. The food was delicious and staff very friendly. The Thai Red chicken curry was amazing with fresh vegetables and the chicken was tender. Salt and pepper chicken a little bit chewy but the sides of spicy chips, fried rice and noodles made up for it! Would definitely recommend.

26/10/2025: They work hard in The Western Strand ~ We wern't guests in the hotel so we came in 3 minutes before close (8:30pm kitchen closed that Thursday) and there was no issue being seated and menued (shows great kitchen discipline, although try not to do what we did, spare the chef)! They do an open mic on Thursdays which sounded great and added fantastic atmosphere. The food was delicious and the waitress was delightfully friendly. The presentation of the food was tops. Very happy, will be returning for dinner again in the future.

06/08/2025: Stayed over last week for a few days, and I honestly think I couldn’t have stayed anywhere better in the EU for the same price. The room was basic and what you’d expect, the bed was very comfortable and the sower and toilet worked as they should. The coffee and tea facilities were great, and plenty of room to hang your clothes etc.for a single room it was excellent. The pub downstairs was excellent too for food and entertainment on most nights, location is the best in the town. Take it from me you’ll love your stay here, the owners and staff couldn’t do any more for you if they tried. So for the few moaners in the review section you really need to give your head a wobble. 08/01/2026: We were very happy with the talbot. We were only looking for a place to lay the head for the night and a shower but the place was beautiful and the staff were amazing. Sharon who might have been the manager was amazing. She went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. The rooms were beautiful. The pints were nice and the shower in the room may have been the best of my life.

19/09/2025: Didn't stay overnight, hence my blank comment on rooms. Convenient and friendly and excellent quality food. Only complaint was no salmon in the net🐳

06/09/2025: Visited today for dinner had the Cod&Chips. Absolutely delecious. Nice large portion off fish,fresh tarture sauce, mushy peas, and amazing crunchy salad. The only minus was the chips. They were french fries and skimpy and made the dish look small. I would rather eat home cut chips (that bit larger and more appeasing on the plate). But no complaints on taste. I had the cheesecake desert, 10 out off 10 delightful. Overall the food was 5 star and the staff friendly, well presented, and professional. Lovely relaxed atmosphere bright airy and clean. Overall 10 out off 10 for me. I will be back.

20/08/2025: This was my favourite pub in Westport, everyone was very welcoming, I even met the owner who took five minutes for a chat, so that made a great difference,in enjoying the beer and the evening. Well done.. Yous made your town proud.. Thanks again.. The beer is great also..

24/10/2025: What an gem to have this cafe in Ballinrobe. I needed an fix of coffee every few moths i have an latta , I had an lovely latte & ham & cheese sandwich on brown bread . It was very tasty , I sat down to eat it there which was an added bonus
