04/03/2024: Revamped entrance & upper bar area. Looks well. Was there about 1.45pm. There was only one group of retirees there having coffee & they were leaving when I got there. The waitress was busy chatting to someone at the bar - she ignored me. I eventually approached the bar & enquired if I could get food there, or if I needed to go down to the other (lower) area of the bar (as used to be the case). She seemed surprised that I was looking for food (at lunchtime!). I then asked if I could have a menu, which she produced 2 copies of. She took my order pretty quickly & arrived with a nice jug of iced water & 2 sets of cutlery. It was ages before the food arrived. I ordered chicken wings with salad. A waiter arrived with a finger bowl - the water was well cooled by the time the food arrived! The food was lovely, so it's a pity about the service. The proprietor passed in & out a few times while I was there. He made no attempt to engage with any of the customers. Poor form I thought. I used to go there in the past & found it lot more friendly.

30/11/2023: Possibly the best links course I have played. Fantastic course, well layed out, challenging but not to the point of punishing. The course is in brilliant condition and the greens were immaculate,(if a little slow, but that is to be expected at this time of year). A warm welcome in the pro shop and an excellent putting green nearby to sharpen the eye all added to a fantastic days golf. I look forward to returning there hopefully sooner rather than later.

04/05/2024: The food was cheap but nothing special. Place could seriously do with opening some windows as was very stuffy and smelly inside, which was off-putting.

02/04/2024: Top experience - superb seafood, kind staff and vibrant atmosphere! The oysters couldn't be any fresher (straight from the sea to our plates!), the scallops were the best I have ever eated (gave me goosebumps, no joke!) and both the ray and the pork belly were just pure perfection. If I could go beyond 5 star rating, I would - really a place that redefines what a fish can taste like. Thank you very much for an unforgettable evening!

17/02/2024: Went in to buy a cake for my husband’s birthday, and was met with lots of choice and fantastic service. The cake itself was unbelievable. We’ll be dreaming of it.

17/02/2024: Passing through on my travels and the red pub. Called in as I was in need a comfort break. Cosy inside with a fire going, not many in the pub except some tourists. Was chatting to the barman who I presumed was the owner. He was good craic and the drink was cheap so I hung around for a while. Great little pub with a traditional atmosphere. A rarity these days. Must call back when ever I'm passing.
