10/08/2026: Love this place. Packed with local characters who are friendly- you'd think they knew you all your life! A peat fire a great Guinness and music on Sundays will round off your visit to Achill.

29/07/2026: Great little pub overlooking the river Moy. Always a nice atmosphere, and perfect whether there are two or twenty of you socialising. Nice pint of Smithwicks too.

09/08/2026: ​I can't speak highly enough of The Creel! We visited the Creel from clare after it was recommended by a friend. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the food was fresh, tasty, and top quality. The chefs were also extremely accommodating when we ordered off-menu for 2 of my friends. A really lovely place all around.

03/08/2026: We were in today, and the food was terrible. I had the avocado toast which was nice. My partner has the steak sandwich. However, the steak sandwich that was given to us was abysmal. Pieces of steak on a horrible processed roll and loaded with cheese. When you have access to such nice sourdough and other fresh ingredients it is highly disappointing and surprising to be honest. We couldn’t even complain as no one bothered to come near our table to clear it or even ask if everything was okay. Even at the till paying they didn’t even ask if everything was okay and we left half of the steak behind us. We won’t be back.

26/08/2026: We had a wonderful few days in Foxford and Guiry’s was the highlight. Pat and Martha are wonderful, extremely hard-working and kind people. They also know how to pour a great pint and make even a couple of Yanks feel at home.

13/06/2026: Lovely Bar, Myself and The Master were on and he said the pints were fantastic and the fishing stories were epic.

24/08/2026: The service from Pavel, Asia, Laila, Jack and Jason’s brother was so good! Everyone was really friendly and entertaining, the food from Mario, Niko and Enrik was 10/10 beautifully presented and tasted amazing - I will be back! :)

23/08/2026: Didn’t even bother to go in as I saw 3 members of staff (including two in kitchen uniform, apron etc) smoking down the side of the venue. If you walk over the bridge toward the venue you get a great view of the chairs that are especially put out for them to do so. Just put me right off. I’ve been previously for work drinks and nibbles and I wanted to go back and have a nice meal- no chance!

10/08/2026: Bridge st bar is set on Bridge St in Castlebar it has a good atmosphere in it, and they do Salsa Dance lessons upstairs, the staff are very friendly and helpful too

12/06/2026: The best bookshop in Ireland. The staff are so friendly, & there’s a gorgeous view. You can also call or email to order any book (even if it’s not listed on their website). My order arrived 2 days later!

06/06/2026: Beautiful shop, lovely enthusiastic people there who are genuinely interested in you and your love of books. We didn't have a coffee but I think there was coffee making facilities if you wanted to have a longer browse. ❤️

05/05/2026: To three restaurants in the county for sure. Always good for a special meal, but I'd recommend dropping in for a small bite or one of the specials on midweek. We often order all the starters to share and it's a real flavour journey. The wine is fantastic too!
