13/05/2026: If you’re looking for THE castle experience this is it! The overall experience has been top tier offering grand furnishings, indulging restaurant and bar menu and relaxing atmosphere. The neo-gothic architecture and interior design transports you back in time. The only restaurant on site offers a unique and elegant menu with the highly recommended Drunken Bullock steak that is an experience in itself. As I write this, lounging in the luxuriously decorated sitting room adjacent to the Armada Bar, I can confidently tell you this is the place to book if you’re looking for a private castle visit. With only 10 bedrooms, you are guaranteed a timeless environment that takes you back in time. We are traveling the Wild Atlantic Way, which the Belleek castle has special WAW bundle offer with complimentary breakfast every morning, one night of complimentary 3 course meal for 2 at the their restaurant and 2 pints of Guinness at the armada bar. They also offer a tour (highly recommend booking) of the castle and dungeons daily which gives you an extra activity to do around the property. We are a young couple visiting from California. We got to meet the owner and he was so kind and friendly to us and our 16month baby. Happy to write they offer pop up cot which has been our deciding factor in choosing our residences along the WAW so we didn’t have to travel with a pop up cot. All in all would highly recommend coming on a weekday where you can avoid a possible wedding/wedding guests. The castle was up to par with what we had expected— the food/service was great and beautifully furnished. Some might expect Ritz Carlton meets Highclere castle- This is not that so get your expectations right before coming. The castle was such a fun experience along our journey across Ireland.

19/04/2026: We had a fabulous time at the Beleek Castle. The desk clerk explained about the castle and signed us up for a guided tour. Tickets were reasonable. Our guide was a school teacher and he was very knowledgeable about the history of the castle. It is richly decorated with antiques and is popular with people planning weddings. The best 2 areas were the room of Jurassic fossils and the room of ancient weapons and armor.

18/08/2026: Mediocre food - lamb jalfrezi was not spicy / hot for me . Good nan bread . Same as the rest of Indian restaurants in Ireland , cook better at home

16/08/2026: Recently went to The Everest Nepalese Restaurant in Ballina and had a good experience. We tried the Butter Chicken, Everest Special, butter naan, kids meals and a few other items from the menu that I can’t recall the names. The food was tasty, portions were good, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. If you're Asian or looking for food that suits an Asian taste palate, this is a nice place to try in Ballina.

16/07/2026: At last found a fish and chip shop that sells fresh battered fish very light and perfectly cooked well worth a visit

30/07/2026: I’d like to add my complete agreement to the other positive reviews. This is a lovely bookshop with brilliant staff that do their utmost to help customers. If you are in Castlebar do drop in. They have a very interesting selection of books.

29/07/2026: The loveliest place in Castlebar, both the bookshop and the café upstairs. Staff is super polite, place is cosy and clean. Cakes and scones are delicious and fresh.

12/04/2026: Lady Fire Slice is very accommodating, very personable, makes fantastic and delicious pizzas. You cannot lose by ordering here. So to get this out of the way... Lady Fire Slice doesn't do pineapple. Love or hate it, and wifey does. But she is so accommodating, and because wifey brought pineapple chunks along was quite happy to add the toppings to her pizza. Wifey had the Ham, mushroom and cheese with extra pineapple. And although it's not everyone's tea, hubby has to admit it works rather well with ham and cheese pizza. Hubby went with the classic pepperoni pizza. And really liked the flavours, really tasty. This pace does some great pizzas, you'll get no complaints there. There are some minor inconveniences... Which boil down to its a pizza truck and the limits there. Which means eating it hot and order ahead of time is the only way to do it. We live 25 minutes away, and food doesn't last, it wasn't the same when we got home. No fault on Fire Slice, but is something to think about. Because the truck was behind the Bridge st bar, there just wasn't any good place to sit and eat. So home needs to be close by. Secondly you need to order in advance as a artisanal pizza needs time. We recommend turning up to collect, to ensure it's hot and fresh. Also it is worth noting that keeping a pizza hot is just as difficult, so being punctual is a must too. All in all, you'd be missing a treat it you didn't try pizzas here. And if you must with pineapple you need to bring your own. On a personal note, deep pan pizzas are the best. I miss those, but everyone loves stone baked thin crusts, and I understand why... But hope deeppans come back.

15/08/2026: Stayed in the apartments. The staff are very welcoming and the regulars are friendly. The apartment all through was spotless. I had a decent weeks sleep until Thursday night. Should've gone sleep early ready for work. Got woke up half eleven twelve. Status Quo, The Cranberries all sorts. A live band downstairs. I ended up at 1 o'clock in the morning having a crafty ciggy at my bathroom window singing Cher, "Do you believe in life after love"

27/07/2026: The Irish House is a brilliant pub with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Alan and his team are always wonderfully friendly, the service is excellent, and they make us feel right at home every time we visit. The craic and banter are second to none—exactly what you would hope for from a proper Irish pub. We go there regularly and always have a great time, so we will certainly keep coming back. Fair play to Alan and the whole team!
