The best restaurants in Mayo

05/11/2025: Popped in for a drink, was warmly welcomed by Padraig shaking my hand and enquired as to the reason for visiting Belmullet. On explaining my circumstances he and several customers provided me with information regarding relatives past and present. The Guiness was perfect. Can't wait to return.

07/12/2025: We’ve traveled extensively and eaten in some of the top restaurants around the world, and our meal at Lough Inn was unquestionably one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. Chef Thomas is a culinary artist, and clearly cares deeply about ensuring his guests have a memorable experience while dining with him. We were there with a party of 10, including a lactose-free vegetarian and two children. Everyone one of us was thrilled with what was offered, and even our pickiest eaters can’t wait to go back. We are all torn between wanting to shout praises from the highest hills so everyone can enjoy this amazing food and service, or keeping it a secret so we can easily get a table whenever we want. But mostly, we just want to make sure Lough Inn is successful so we can always have top quality dining experiences without having to fly to Paris. Co. Mayo is incredibly lucky to have such a treasure!

20/11/2025: Had the most amazing meal here last night. The chef 👨‍🍳 is absolutely fantastic and takes such pride in the food he makes. Staff were fantastic also. Cannot wait to return.

28/08/2025: Lovely burgers & chips. Good portion of chips & I got a lovely coffee instead of coke. My friend had the chicken breast burger & said it was lovely. It's a busy takeaway.

30/10/2025: Well run Pub, Marie runs the place and is a great landlady.Guinness was excellent, toilets spotless. Atmosphere excellent

08/12/2025: Been there twice good is good was amazing, hot, tasty, was a bit disappointed as the veg with the meal was a bit tough had difficulty cutting it with a knife, reasonable prices will go again first time I had pasta second time I had pork (veggie was tough)

20/11/2025: The food was very tasty, portions were large, and everything was prepared quickly. The prices are restaurant-level, but definitely worth it! They also have a kids’ menu.

16/09/2025: Great location, right in the middle of town. Excellent staff; friendly & helpful. Our room was lovely, overlooking the main street which was very quiet overnight. We enjoyed Sunday lunch & breakfast the following morning; both of which were really good.

24/10/2025: A must visit when your in Ballina. After a long drive from south Kilkenny we said we will pop in here for a quick pint before checking in to the hotel. They Guinness and Murhys was so go we ended up here for 3hrs . Great Atmosphere great staff and friendly locals. 100% will be back here again.

19/10/2025: Thanks to everyone at Quay West for a fab evening when 9 of us celebrated our brother's BD. Welcome was warm & friendly. Food was v v good across all different chosen dishes between starters/main courses along with BD plate and sparkly BD candle. Service was excellent from all waiting staff who made our evening very special. We were all very well looked after throughout our meal. Much appreciated. Already looking to our next visit. Thanks again!

28/06/2025: Proper local bar, the sort of place that died out in the UK in the 1980s. The din from endless conversations was like an old friend, the Guinness was superb, the service and the locals were friendly and welcoming. Go there, go there now 🇮🇪

08/12/2025: Ordered 2 fish and chips large Large was overstated chips were not chip shop chips, they were dry like cardboard like the end of a frozen bag The fish was dry I would say it was frozen. I tryed danollas last year same experience. I thought it would be better Sorry but things can't improve unless people give feedback Proper fish and chips are in Newport blue dolphin much better.

21/11/2025: Food is generally alright but the southern fried chicken is actually the greasiest thing you can ever eat and it didn’t even taste southern fried

22/12/2025: This place is a gem, went with a group from work and couldn't fault anything. Food fantastic, staff welcoming and attentive, decor beautiful. Will be going back 100%.

17/12/2025: I was very interested in this place after seeing it on social media and reading some reviews but the experience wasn’t the best. Not sure if it’s because me and my partner chosen the festive menu, but was not very impress with the food, and even less impressed with the service, very slow and mainly focusing on the big tables, we felt we always had to call them for service rather than having them taking their own initiative. I’ll be coming back to try the à la cart menu, hopefully to have a better experience.

18/09/2025: A great Diner for everbody who is looking for some greens and vegetable beside the meat! We enjoyed the amazing chicken wrap with a mixed salad after plenty of burgers, fish & chips and other heavy stuff the days before! Great and friendly service and very cheap prices! We will come back, whenever we will be in the near!

09/09/2025: Quiet afternoon popped in for a quick bite to eat for lunch. Bar lady was so nice and welcoming. We will defo be back. 100% home cooked food. Simple menu but just what we wanted. Homemade veg soup and brown bread… so fresh Chicken goujons wrap with sweet chilli. Amazing value and literally 10 mins waiting.
