The best restaurants in Mayo

24/10/2026: Wifey and Hubby have been here twice. A pub grub type of place that has lots of offer with a very high standards on quality. Wifey tried the fish and chips and the creamy pasta the other visit. Personally I didn't rate the creamy pasta, not that it was nice, just not my type of dish. The fish and chips was good though. Hubby had the chicken burger and lamb shank. And would Definitely recommend the lamb shank any day. The burger was good too, soft meat with a nice battered crisp, the way a chicken burger should be. For some reason we have walked by many a times, Hubby has been eager to always try. Wifey had visited many years ago, so I ma glad we finally walked through the doors. Good food, great drinks and friendly service... We recommend.

11/10/2026: Stopped here Sunday afternoon. Fun place, Annie is super friendly and great live music. Matt on guitar was playing live requests from the crowd. Totally relaxed atmosphere. We only stopped in for 1 but stayed for more!

13/08/2026: Very nice food and great hospitality. The head chef comes personally to the table to explain everything.

02/08/2026: A wonderful discovery! The lamb chop was excellent, very fresh, and the chef does remarkable work with great delicacy. The establishment is perfectly run, the service is attentive, and you can feel a true attention to detail.

10/10/2026: CLASSIC Irish pub nestled into Swimford IRE. Perfect atmosphere with recent upgrades.

15/07/2026: Passed this place when we were heading to our hotel for a break before dinner. From the outside it didn't seem that cosy, but the reviews were incredibly good so we wanted to give it a try. Glad we did. At first it felt a bit intimidating to go in because it seemed like there were a lot of locals as well and we felt like intruders, but the owner/bartender came by our table for a quick chat, which made us feel right at home. The same bartender played some songs on the guitar as well, which was a nice surprise. Strong recommend!

29/09/2026: The food was excellent, the music lively and the service was wonderful. The sheep herding demonstration is a must see. The shepherd was very entertaining.

08/09/2026: We at Tipperarytours.com brought a family to the farm, it was a highlight of there Ireland trip. Such an amazing welcome,the sheepdog experience and the homemade scones, cream and jams afterwards was exceptional . Also purchased some souvenirs in there wonderful shop. 5⭐️

14/09/2026: Such a shame. Some good some bad. Popped in on way back to airport. Lovely greeting and got a group of us a table of 4. Great service. Nice starters, but mash potatoes I’ve never experienced before like eating dry powdered smash. Lacking in gravy. And veg straight out of a people home. Lovely drinks. And nice atmosphere let down by kitchen.

19/08/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An excellent experience at Val's Bar & Bistro! Without a doubt, a restaurant worth visiting in Ballyhaunis. Very tasty food, well-prepared and with generous portions. Everything served with good presentation and that welcoming atmosphere typical of a good Irish pub. The service was excellent: friendly, attentive and professional staff, always available to help. The concern for providing a good experience to visitors is noticeable. The atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxed, perfect for a family meal or a meal with friends. It was a very positive experience and, without a doubt, a restaurant I recommend and will return to. 👌🇮🇪 5 stars without hesitation! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

13/08/2026: Brilliant spot with wonderful staff they did not take card the night I was there but the bank machine was a 2 minute walk away. It was absolutely packed the night I was there on the mayo all Ireland win. But despite the pressure and sheer number of people demanding their attention for a drink all the staff were so polite and efficient.

18/09/2026: Will be nice and hygienic if they will use some gloves at least when they touch the products 😉

09/09/2026: A small, charming pub on a corner in the middle of nowhere. The food was excellent and the value for money was fantastic. The interior is typically Irish; the oilcloth tablecloths reminded me of days gone by. Everything is clean and highly recommended.

27/09/2026: The best coffee you will find in the West with such lovely views of the River Moy and beautiful Beleek woods. Delicious healthy treats. Lovely people, welcoming athmosphere and the best books for the soul and bits to buy. A must visit!
