14/05/2026: Went for brunch. Lovely day so we ate outside. No problem with being served outside, good food, cheap and clean. Friendly staff. No rush to finish and go.

07/07/2026: Le Petit Vatel was more than amazing — it was truly an unforgettable experience. Chef Thomas welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like special guests from the moment we arrived. The staff was courteous, warm, and excellent throughout the evening. The food was absolutely fantastic, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. One of the most special parts was that the chef kept coming out of the kitchen to talk with us about the dishes, the ingredients, and life in general, which made the whole experience feel incredibly personal and memorable. We also had the chance to tour the farm, and it was amazing to see where many of the vegetables used in the restaurant are grown. That connection between the farm and the table made the meal even more special. At the end of the night, we were sent off with a bottle of champagne and two boxes of macarons and chocolates — such a generous and thoughtful gesture. This was one of those dining experiences we will never forget. I would recommend Le Petit Vatel to everyone and anyone. We would come back every time!

29/05/2026: Travelling through from Australia for work, had 1hr30 till my bus and needed a drink. Blouser's couldn't have been a better spot to sit and just drink. Excellent service.

06/06/2026: The food was so processes. I ordered a turkey and ham dinner. Both meats were so finely sliced that they were more suitable for putting in a sandwich rather than serve up for dinner. The stuffing was shaped like a hockey puck, was odd grey/green colour and had the texture of Playdough. They clearly don't cook all the food on site but buy it in precooked. My partner had a steak which, unfortunately, was extremely tough. The seating was saggy and uncomfortable. I wouldn't eat there again.

03/06/2026: Cobbler's bar is a great place to eat, have a drink and listen to music, including informal bands that come to play during the week.

02/06/2026: We ended up here by chance. The tea room was full, but we received a super friendly welcome and got a table after only a short wait. (Grab the table! 😃) The sandwich was delicious, and they served it directly onto two plates since we wanted to share it. Super friendly and cozy.

07/06/2026: We ordered today the prawn salad and one of the daily’s specials. It was delicious. The service was great (Raphael the head of the waitress recommended us those two dishes). Really great, obliging and friendly service! We can definitely recommend it!! The surrounding was nice and not too loud. Great work gluten-free options (at least 70% of the menu) as well.

02/05/2026: Come for the view, stay for Alan! The food is "just right" and the scenery is stunning, but Alan is the real legend. When I had a total nightmare with a charging app, he stepped in and saved my day with incredible kindness. It’s rare to be treated like a human rather than just "another tourist." Truly excellent service that goes way beyond the menu. 10/10 would get stranded here again!

10/04/2026: We had food there yesterday the lasagne was cold in the middle Had a roast dinner and the gravy tasted of curry said to the waiter about it and he thought it was funny We really enjoyed our self's there people and staff so friendly good pub shame about the food

18/05/2026: After climbing Croagh Patrick we went into Westport, looking for a place for lunch. Went into The West Bar. Lovely atmosphere. Bright and cheerful. Food was really good. We had the Chicken and Stuffing Panini which was like a Christmas dinner in a roll and it came with a small gravy bowl. We also had a steak sandwich which came with peppercorn sauce and tasty really good. Had a glass of Coke and a Guinness and got change from €50. Menu had large selection. Staff were friendly and polite. Highly recommend. Would definitely return.
