20/08/2025: Food, service & setting were all top notch. For a group of 11, we were seated upstairs in our own room which was perfect. Our total bill came to just over 900e. Everyone was delighted with their food & the wine was tasty too. The downstairs seems to seat smaller groups but upstairs is perfect for a group of 10-12.

04/08/2025: Plenty of parking nearby. The buildings are bright and fresh. The staff are pleasant and helpful. There are loads of different items for sale from scarfs to coats to blankets etc. There is a cafe on site. It would have been nice to learn some of the history of the mill but the drawings and similar items were in the cafe.

02/08/2025: We popped in for a light treat and left thoroughly satisfied. Between the rich, moist Carrot Cake topped with a thick layer of cream cheese icing (finished with a slice of candied orange and a sprinkle of nuts), and the golden, buttery Apple Bakewell Tart with its perfect balance of soft apple and almond filling on a crumbly base, the café’s dessert selection once again impressed. A little tub of cream on the side added a nice touch. Although the café was understandably loud and lively, given the Saturday lunchtime rush, the staff kept everything flowing smoothly. There was the usual generous display of hot and cold dishes, and the cake counter looked absolutely irresistible with its colourful variety of bakes and sweet treats.

10/05/2025: Absolute gem in the heart of Foxford. Really friendly cafe run by a fabulous hardworking couple, Lee Anne & Peter. They always remember our order and greet us with a smile and a chat. There's so many positives I could list for this cafe but to name just a few ... Dog Friendly Artwork - The Old Salt have very generously offered their wall space free of charge supporting local artists. Local business - They also support small local businesses by offering their shelf space and through recommendations. Great coffee and a nice selection of cakes and treats with some ice cold options during good weather. Community hub - guaranteed to meet some interesting locals and tourists alike. Perfect place to put you in a good mood. Lee Anne & Peter we are so lucky to have you. Keep doing what you're doing.

26/08/2025: Absolutely love this restaurant. Eaten in Poachers about 10 times over past couple of years and this place is, hands down, my favourite restaurant in the west of Ireland to visit. Everything about it....the foods, the flavours, the wines, the staff, all exceptional. The braised beef cheeks? PUT IT IN MY VEINS! Going again this Friday, and I can't wait!

21/08/2025: The best restaurant we visited in our three weeks in Ireland! We were here with our two children and weren't sure at first if it was a good idea to take them to a high-end restaurant. But from the start, everything worked out great. There's an excellent children's menu, crayons, and something to color in, and the waiter was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding, almost Michelin-star quality—but still affordable. The large selection of vegetarian dishes is remarkable. The waiter gave us excellent advice on matching wines for each course; the virgin mojito was also excellent! For anyone looking for something different than an Irish pub with burgers and pizza, this is the place for you!

21/07/2025: Finally found a spot in Ireland that knows how to make proper matcha. I stopped by Mocha Beans during my stay and was honestly impressed. I got the iced vanilla matcha with strawberry purée and cold foam, and it was so good — creamy, smooth, and refreshing without being too sweet. The strawberry at the bottom added the perfect touch of flavor. The young girl working that day was super helpful and patient — she really took her time walking me through all the drink options and made sure I got something I’d like. Turns out they had almost every flavor available (except butter pecan, lol). The service definitely made the experience even better. Overall, this place is a gem. Chill vibe, great drinks, and friendly staff. Whether you’re passing through or staying nearby, it’s definitely worth stopping by — I’ll be back again before I leave.

11/09/2025: Yes, we can recommend the restaurant. Even though it was a busy Wednesday evening, the food was served quickly and was very tasty. The seafood dishes were particularly excellent. The service was friendly, attentive, and quick.

02/09/2025: This place has been in my town for a long time now. The last week was my first time at it. First question I asked myself was "why didn't I come here before". The food is fabulous. I am a pickie eater and going out frighten me. In olive's Seoul food plain means flavoursome. I have the beef bowl with no veg and it was fabulous. My son ordered the chicken dumplings and we ended up ordering 3 more. Second question was where do I place Korean restaurants. I say second to Indian. Korma is still that best for me but its so close to the beef bowls. I will be going back and I will be ordering something else. Highly Highly recommend this place

24/08/2025: Went here with my family and we were all very happy with the food and service! They offer a great variety of different dishes and they are all cooked very well. It is also very reasonably priced and healthy too. Would recommend 👌

07/09/2025: Lovely bar which connects to a bigger hotel and bistro. Good beer and good pub food.

06/09/2025: Nice place and friendly service. The food is a bit messy, but the prices are in line with other restaurants in the area. The mussels are good.

27/08/2025: They take orders by phone and you can come there and order takeaway. They cook quickly, I liked everything.

01/08/2025: Grand endroit, pas loin du centre ville. Des assiettes copieuses et bonnes, moins chers que d'autres. Le breakfast est très bon, avec option vegan. Venir avant 12h. Il y avait de place, pas besoin de réserver. Service sympathique

31/07/2025: Fantastic bar. The owner and the customers made us so welcome. My wife wanted crisps, but unfortunately they didn’t sell them. However, the owner said the shop in the alley sell them. We didn’t bother going, but the next minute the owner appeared with a bag of crisps, which he got from the shop. A must visit for anyone staying in Castlebar.

20/08/2025: Awesome border collie (Janice) working the ram sheep...fun to watch what she can do with whistle commands. Gift shop had good variety of items and they shared sips of irish cream liquor. Very generous and welcoming on all fronts.

17/08/2025: Awesome experience. The family and Michael were so hospitable. Great demonstrations. Truly enjoyed the coffee and scones. Their own Irish Creme is the best I have ever tasted. Wish we could buy it in the US.
