09/10/2025: Love coming here, especially with the family. Shirley and the gang provide top-notch hospitality with a warm and welcoming touch. This restaurant caters excellently for kids, with the choice and quality of the kids menu as good as the main one! Great restaurant to visit also with colleagues and friends - all guests and occasions are catered for with equal dedication and excellence.

21/11/2025: Okay, image if Chapter One and the Winding Stair went on holidays and opened a restaurant in Westport, Co. Mayo. It is honest, homely and true Irish fare with one of the best interpretations of a salmon starter. A venison main, which is not easy to present, is one of the finest I've ever had. It is a true test of a fine restaurant on how to offer such a complex meat. It was perfect! The desert brought back memories of my Granny's best rice pudding. Not at all easy to replicate to such perfection. All topped off with excellent service and wonderful atmosphere! Thank you to all the team at An Port Mór! 11/10/2025: Like a festival in a pub. Walk from room to room for a different band, or a regular bar. Very popular, competition for standing room and seats.

12/10/2025: We were staying in Dooagh and happened upon The Valley House. Stayed for a few pints and a chat. Absolutely class place, extremely friendly service. We'll check out the accomodation and food on our next visit.

30/09/2025: What a wonderful find on Achill Island! A hidden Victorian house by the sea. A grand estate with a tiny Irish pub in the back. A must visit! The hostel was very well furnished and a comfortable night’s rest. I was very impressed! Breakfast was very generous and a wholesome stay.

14/12/2025: Went for afternoon tea, served by the lovely Rachel from Portugal, her knowledge of the Castle was superb, she showed me around some of the many function rooms, had wine by the fire in one of the many bars.. if you love oldie worldie steeped in history and a Castle that feels like your on a very old ship you'll be in the right place. Will return and try Jack Fenn bistro attached to the Castle.

04/10/2025: Ordered 2 Burgers chips and a snack box, supermacs ballyhaunis, arrived home and both Burgers were wrong, went back and they redid them, and still one burger was wrong, the grilled chicken breast was tiny, it was less then half the size of the burger bun, by the time we got back to the house the rest of the food had gotten cold. This is not the first time, often we have arrived home and the chips or food is cold or undercooked and had to go back with them! The service has not been great! Food is usually nice when it is made correctly, but sadly this is becoming a regular accurance

20/08/2025: We needed four meals to takeaway, two of which had to be vegan and one vegetarian. There was no issue ordering vegan versions. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The sauces were delicious, the vegetables beautifully al dente, the meat tender and flavoursome, and spicy was just the right amount of spicy. The rice was not sticky, not too dry. The re-usable containers are great and will be used again, and again. The price was very reasonable (ca €50 for 4 mains). The ordering process was uncomplicated, the waiting time was just right, the staff member we dealt with was friendly and helpful. We will definitely visit again the next time we visit Ballina.

13/08/2025: This Nepalese restaurant is one of the best I’ve ever been to. I ordered dish number 32 — I don’t remember exactly what it was, but it was perfectly spicy and very tasty. The place is nice and the staff is friendly. I recommend it!

01/12/2025: We stopped for food during a very busy Sunday evening. We did not have to wait long for a table. The servers were excellent and even though it was extremely busy they was no delay in taking our order and bringing our meals to the table. We were impressed with the quality of the food and the servings were plentiful.
