The best restaurants in Mayo

17/03/2024: I've been all over Ireland and this is one of the best Sunday roasts that I've ever had.

08/12/2023: First rate food and not the usual fare,, for example I had Wood Pigeon for starters and Beef Shin for the main course,, too full to manage a dessert.

02/04/2024: We got married in Delphi Resort on the 15th of March 2024. We had our ceremony on the balcony upstairs in the hotel and I can only say that the day was the closest experience to a real fairytale for me. Bernie, the Wedding coordinator was so fabulous, sweet, calm and lovely throughout our whole dealings with her. Anything I requested for the wedding, she made it her business to happen. The moment we visited the place we knew we wanted to get married there, it was truly magical. Getting married with the sun shining down on us and the mountains in the backdrop was the material of dreams. Mark the chef also made the most beautiful food and the staff on the day were fantastic. Bernie's calm demeanour throughout the entire planning process helped us both to stay calm, she is so down to earth but does extraordinary things. The only regret I have is not being able to stay longer but I absolutely cannot wait to go back and just stay in the peace and tranquility of the place. All of our guests were so happy and chilled out and really enjoyed the Wedding. It is an absolute credit to Bernie and staff the service they gave us. I'll never forget the magical day we had. I can't recommend the place highly enough to get married in and also to stay. 🥰🥰

01/04/2024: The Delphi Resort Hotel was one of the best places we stayed during our three-week trip to Ireland. It's right next to some of the best sites in Ireland: Killary Fjord, Aasleagh Falls, Kylemore Abbey, and Connemara National Park. We got a two bedroom suite with a living room for the family. One the bedrooms was upstairs for our daughters to have some privacy. We had breakfast and dinner for 4 people for €575. The dining room offered spectacular views of the surrounding countryside filled with streams and waterfalls. I would definitely stay there again.

23/03/2024: We've never had such a bad meal in Ireland. The waiters were all unfriendly. We were seated at a table that was barely lit. I hardly saw my counterpart or my food. We ordered Cola without ice (it was too cold for ice cubes for us). We only got half-full glasses. We weren't nearly full from the main course (seafood) and we're not gluttons. The bill was then simply slapped on the table. We then had to go to the counter to pay. It was just terrible!

12/03/2024: I had the breakfast burrito which was delicious, I was nervous about the baked beans but they played a perfectly subtle role in the overall deliciousness. Coffee was nice and the staff were very welcoming. I'll be back!

18/03/2024: Went in for a few jars after the boxing in Castlebar. The atmosphere was brilliant, the pints were great and the staff couldn't do enough for us - we even got a lift home at the end of the night as the taxis were scarce. The visit genuinely made the weekend. Brilliant.

13/03/2024: Mike Byrne. A legend in Castlebar. Passion for sports, to be a good host and the friendship toward locals and tourists are laws in his pub. Worth every cent. Keep up the good job!

03/12/2023: Lovely restaurant and pub. The food served here was astonishing. Fresh goodness ranging from food to pints. The lady and gentleman that served me was very polite and nice. Although it would be nice to get rid of some flies around, but it's the countryside so every place has them unfortunately.

30/03/2024: Amazing food. The fishcakes are superb and the chowder is the best I have ever had - beautiful creamy base with great tender lumps of fish. It is unbelievably good!
