The best restaurants in Mayo

03/10/2025: My mum and I had one of the best meals we've ever had here this past summer and I am praying they have it on the menu next summer (hence the review) It was one of the specials - Seafood pasta. The sauce was perfect with it and the garlic bread really added to the flavour - still dreaming about it now! Please make permanently on the menu next year, we'll come every week!

27/10/2025: 11/6/25: Great cafe and very welcoming and friendly staff too and where dogs are allowed at the rear under a sheltered roofed area; there are a few other large tables in the yard but these are not protected from the weather.

02/12/2025: Blue Thunder do the best ¼ pounder & chips. Better than all the other chippers around! The chips are always cooked to perfection! There so nice, you don't need to add salt or ketchup! Just wish they were opened Sunday's!

07/01/2026: Very very good. The toasted sandwich on sourdough was delicious with fresh salad and dressing and chips. The Americano coffee was the best I have had in a long long time. We were greeted at the door with a lovely welcome. All the waiting staff were the same so friendly and helpful. The place was spotless comfortable and spacious. Will be stopping here again.

18/01/2026: This pub is very well located, in a lovely corner of Westport. The team is very welcoming and effective, which makes the waiting time very little! The food is good, portions are very generous and tasty. It is a very small, traditional, and well themed pub. I like the overall energy. I recommend.

03/01/2026: Found completely by chance on the side of the road. Despite the late hour and a full dining room, the chef kindly agreed to welcome us. What followed was, without any doubt, the best meal of our entire stay in Ireland. Refined, thoughtful cuisine, beautifully executed, with vegetables grown on site — fresh, seasonal, and full of flavor. A true culinary surprise and a memorable experience. Highly recommended.

07/12/2025: We’ve traveled extensively and eaten in some of the top restaurants around the world, and our meal at Lough Inn was unquestionably one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. Chef Thomas is a culinary artist, and clearly cares deeply about ensuring his guests have a memorable experience while dining with him. We were there with a party of 10, including a lactose-free vegetarian and two children. Everyone one of us was thrilled with what was offered, and even our pickiest eaters can’t wait to go back. We are all torn between wanting to shout praises from the highest hills so everyone can enjoy this amazing food and service, or keeping it a secret so we can easily get a table whenever we want. But mostly, we just want to make sure Lough Inn is successful so we can always have top quality dining experiences without having to fly to Paris. Co. Mayo is incredibly lucky to have such a treasure!

08/12/2025: Ordered 2 fish and chips large Large was overstated chips were not chip shop chips, they were dry like cardboard like the end of a frozen bag The fish was dry I would say it was frozen. I tryed danollas last year same experience. I thought it would be better Sorry but things can't improve unless people give feedback Proper fish and chips are in Newport blue dolphin much better.

21/11/2025: Food is generally alright but the southern fried chicken is actually the greasiest thing you can ever eat and it didn’t even taste southern fried

05/01/2026: Had lunch here today. Service was quick and friendly. Steak sandwich was lovely and decent portion of chips. Will visit again in the future.

17/01/2026: Love this pub. Visited for New Year's and the atmosphere was electric! We loved the pipers at midnight for the countdown! Went back for another pint on the 2nd. Gorgeous view and lovely fire lit!

13/01/2026: Pleasant evening, unfortunately was their first night opening after Christmas which meant they didn't have lots of items on the menu. Disappointing but understandable. Restaurant felt cold, I can imagine it being warm and lively on the weekends/summer. Food was tasty with a good portion size. I will definitely return to try other dishes.
