The best restaurants in Sligo

29/12/2024: Always a great atmosphere whenever we visit and a major plus for us is its dog friendly! Rare to find in Ireland unfortunately.

28/12/2024: Wow, we were lucky to stumble upon this after recognising the name from Trip Advisor but it was just amazing. From the welcome, the service throughout and the amazing food it was the best way we could have spent our 1 year anniversary. We had the early bird menu that was good value at €45, cocktails were about €14 and a recommended whiskey at €19. The servers were so attentive but not in a helicopter way, so obliging to any request. Compliments to the chef to one of the best meals we have ever had, the pork belly was so tender and the baked Alaska was perfection. We will definitely be back when we are in Sligo again.

07/01/2025: Absolutely stunning place. Probably the best restaurant I've ever been to. As soon as you walk in, the person who I can only assume is the manager, or at least the senior staff member greets you with the most pleasantly outgoing greeting you will receive anywhere. His demeanor is very professional, but still casual and friendly enough as if it's one of your old mates serving you. As for the food, it left me speechless the first time I went, and it drove me there another fifty times or so - not exaggerating. The chips are what stand out to me. Sure, they might be a little pricey for some but oh my god you get what you pay for. The portion sizes are massive when compared to other places, and they don't hold back on toppings for the loaded fries either. The burgers are always well made, and well presented. My favourite part about the meals here are the soft drinks, however. Unlike a lot of lame restaurants nowadays who give you tiny wee bottles of coke or whatever you order, Flipside still gives you the full bottles, which is sadly a rarity in most places. If the main course hasn't satisfied you enough, get an ice-cream sundae and you will be sorted. Some of the nicest ice-cream I've ever tasted in them. And once again, the toppings are plentiful. The milkshakes are also well worth writing home about! Anytime I bring friends or family to Sligo for the first time, Flipside is always my first thought when it comes to bringing them out for a meal. Additionally, while it's mainly walk-ins, you can make bookings for 6 to 12 people (as of January 2025), which is really nice for planning birthday parties. Unless they get rid of those gorgeous chicken tenders with hot sauce off the menu, nothing will ever deter me from going here. Note that if you happen to be seated outside, there are blankets for those cold nights, too!

09/11/2024: Lunch was wonderful I had tempura prawns my friend had the chicken curry both were excellent I had a Rocco dessert which was just devine Portions were more than sufficient Staff very friendly and service was quick I am sure there would be good craic at night

28/10/2024: A very busy spot,was told food would be 20min wait as everything is cooked fresh ,so true waited and omg everything from the curry ,burgers and fish came out piping hot.Would definitely go there again

07/01/2025: It was a great experience overall! Incredible pub feel with a comfortable sitting area and booths! Our server was super helpful and pleasant. The food was DELICIOUS! Super recommend the beetroot gnocchi

07/01/2025: 'Just a quick visit this time, 5pm, no reservation made beforehand. We had their renowned Seafood Chowder with their treacle bread....it hit the spot perfectly as always......🤗

14/01/2025: We loved the atmosphere here and the beer was great. We had nachos and being from America was expecting chips and cheese. We got nacho cheese Dorito's with mozzarella cheese. A bit odd and not tasty to me. However, a table mate had the same and loved them. It's worth going in to at least for a drink. Check them out.

27/10/2024: What an amazing find. Absolutely spotless pub, from the bar to the toilet to the smoking area. Love all the rooms and snug off the main bar. Very friendly staff and customers alike. The barman was lovely and chatty and had time to talk with us. Would definitely like to say we will be back!

11/01/2025: I love going to Bia Bao I've Thai Mango Chicken I've boiled rice or chips with main course I'll back here For sure food exellect quality and very friendly service too I fully recommend Bia Bao To everyone

02/01/2025: First timers here and non locals. We popped in without reservation and got lucky as it was busy. Others weren't so lucky and didn't wait for an available table. My husband ordered crispy wonton €9 which he loved. I chose the Singapore spring rolls €7 which were good but I'd try something else next time. For mains, I was very pleased with the filling and tasty Vietnamese pho at €18.50. My husband couldn't pass his weakness of Chicken satay at €15 which he was happy with especially noting the fresh ingredients. Our two kids aged 6 and under shared and demolished Chicken goujons and chips at €8.50. We ordered water and Miwadi (no charge) for the table and a Cobra at €6 and a glass of milk (€2.50). I enjoyed the retro 90s music with 'Ghetto Supastar' playing in the background. This place deserves to do well. Reasonable, sound service, wide range of dishes on offer, efficient arrival of our food, plentiful and flavoursome food with a great buzz. Keep doing what you are doing!!
