The best restaurants in Waterford

10/07/2026: Really liked this hotel. Food (breakfast and dinner) was very tasty with fast service. It has a nice bar. Bathroom was modern. Great tv in room.Big private hotel car park at the back. It's an old building so my one concern was there is no air con in the bedrooms and Ireland is in middle of heatwave so bedrooms were very hot at night. But in fairness this heat is extreme for Ireland!

07/06/2026: The fact that this hotel costs nearly 600 USD a night and has a similar quality to a Motel 6 in the united states is sad. When we arrived, the curtains had a stain on them, the toilet wasn't fully connected to the floor... towels were stained... food was subpar... missing parts in each meal... doors didn't lock or lacked locks in general...overall disappointing for the amount paid

19/07/2026: Charged us over €50 for 3 snack boxes and left half our order in the shop. Nice food but would recommend making sure you’ve your order before delivery driver goes off

25/06/2026: Only for the kebab was actually delicious it was almost not worth trekking up that hill in the heat because the kebab was absolutely tiny. I wasn't expecting it to be that small for the price as usually a kebab is for sharing. For me anyway. I definitely wasnt sharing this tiny thing. I will say, it was delicious though. Chicken nugget meal was abit overpriced too in fairness

20/08/2026: What a dump, food looked crap tables and floor filthy and staff didn't care so went next door and the difference was night and day!

13/08/2026: Excellent fish and chips. Perfect For any sen familys, they do chicken nuggets.

31/05/2026: My wife and I celebrated the evening after our wedding, rented out the top floor and had some bar food on service. Great craic and it was nice as many of our guests had come over from Canada as well. One of our bartenders was only too happy to get roped into some scheme with one of my mates and we had good fun bringing me a shot every 10min until I figured out what was going on. Good man! (I won't name any names, but solid future ahead of that lad!) Everyone had a nice time and it was good to have a space to ourselves as well.

02/06/2026: I come here often. Very handy location. Easy drive through. I would state the drive through could do with fresh tarmac or gravel tho. I always order iced carmel latte, biscoff overnight oats and a white chocolate protein bounty bar. I would recommend these!. I see the cafe is up for best coffee spots waterford..they definitely have my vote ! I have always had lovely interactions with staff. They are polite, and appear to work well together. I've never really had a bad order or delayed order. The staff this morning Tito was a super lovely and freindly sunny person, a gem to interact with this morning. ❤️ I'd love of they did a loyalty card.

06/02/2026: Looking at the menu on the Sheela Palace website it indicated dosas. This is an error, they do not serve dosas. Apparently that's done at their Dublin takeaway branch. They should fix their site. Selecting the Waterford restaurant on the website and then clicking on the online ordering option, Dosas are clearly listed at the bottom. First impressions on entering were not great. The interior is drab, confused and dated. A mix of colours and decorative elements that just don't make sense. The exception is the 2 large posters on one side of the reestaurant, which are lovely. I thought, given the greatly positive reviews the food must be amazing. Unfortunately, that wasn't our experience, at least with the mains. The Paneer tikka we had as a starter was ok. Can't say the same for the rest. We ordered the Vegetarian Biryani and Shahi paneer. Had a taste of the latter and it wasn't great at all. Practically inedible tbh. The Biryani looked good though and you can see effort had been made in its preparation with lots of vegetables and nuts and other things. The taste though was again strange. I've never had a sweet Biryani. They had generously added raisins to the rice. Also, the rice was clumpy which is just a very basic thing to get wrong. On crushing the clumps, white rice was exposed. This was not a Biryani dish at all but rather a vegetarian pulau dish with raisins. Kinda like a Kashmiri pulao, but not quite. It seemed like biryani spices had been lightly mixed into the preparation to give it that distinct aroma. The flavour was lacking however. The front-of-house staff were nice. Though one lady asked every customer what specific cutlery they wanted before setting the table. Nothing wrong with that mind you, but just added to the strangeness of the experience. I suspect the non-vegetarian fare is better given the previous positive reviews from other diners but if you're a Vegetarian I would not recommend this place.

24/05/2026: Lovely little take away. Stopped on our walk round Lismore. Lovely lady on counter gave dog a drink and a biscuit. Food was nice and loads of it. Would use again if we're in the area

26/07/2026: Had a takeaway. Chicken in the Sweet and Sour Hong Kong style was stringy and gelatinous.not nice. The Fillet of Beef in Black Bean sauce was leathery and tough. Chicken balls were fine. I cannot understand how anyone can stand over this quality. Never again.

28/06/2026: Prefer to take out as it is cheaper. If the atmosphere was better we might consider dining in. We normally pick up and the timing has always been 20-30 minutes from ordering, just enough time to drive into Dungarvan. Good menu. I'm a teriyaki girl and buy their sauce separately.

31/05/2026: Ordered the wan ton soup from Noark's expecting a light, comforting bowl of soup. What arrived instead was a thick yellow liquid that looked like someone had dissolved a lemon grove into wallpaper paste and seasoned it with pure aggression. The broth was so lemony my face folded in on itself after the first spoonful. Then came the spice. Not a pleasant warmth, not a gentle kick, but a full-scale assault on my taste buds. Every sip felt like being interrogated by a citrus fruit with anger issues. As for the wan tons themselves, they seemed to be trapped inside this strange concoction, desperately trying to escape. I've had wan ton soup from many places, and this bore absolutely no resemblance to any of them. It was like someone had heard a vague description of wan ton soup second-hand and then recreated it from memory after being hit on the head. I finished three spoonfuls before accepting defeat and questioning several of my life choices. If you're looking for traditional wan ton soup, keep looking. If you're looking for a spicy lemon-based science experiment with the consistency of gravy, this may be the dish for you.

03/08/2026: Spotless clean restaurant. We were impressed as its not always the case with others Eddie Rockets. Food was also delicious.

30/06/2026: Found a bird's beak in the chicken wings. Went in for a nice meal with my partner. When he bit into one of the chicken wings, he got a mouthful of half a birds beak. We brought it to the managers attention and was very disappointed with the response. He was quite condescending, told us we were wrong and made out like it wasn't his problem. We have picture evidence of this beak. He took away the dish and charged us full price. It was disgusting and disturbing. Will stay clear of here in future.
