08/08/2025: A stellar meal in Athlone. A real focus on local produce, and expert handling. Rabbit and black pudding ballotine to start, a chocolate and cherry Mille feuille to finish, all homemade breads and the best cheese crackers have ever had. A recommendation to visit from anywhere.

08/08/2025: Excellent little restaurant. Went for the more expensive menu as fillet steak was on it. Every course was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. Service was spot on. If I'm ever in Athlone again then I will be sure to eat here.

26/07/2025: This honestly has to be one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. Ever! It has also got to be one of the best steak houses in the entire country, and that is an understatement, because the quality and depth of flavour of the food is truly outstanding. My own litmus test for this is whether I feel like I could make similar or better food at home, and not in a million years could I make anything as tasty as what we enjoyed last night. My girlfriend and I shared empanadas and two rib eye wagu steaks with some marrow mash and garlic butter, then an assortment of ice cream to finish. From start to finish, the experience was flawless — from the warm welcome at the door to the last spoonful of dessert. The service was attentive, professional and never overbearing. We found the setting very beautiful, despite being a quiet Friday night we both felt like we wanted to stay all night. Every element on the plate was considered and executed with precision — the steaks were cooked to absolute perfection, PER-FEC-TION!!! (No seriously, I never knew steak could be this tasty). The marrow mash was indulgent without being heavy, and the garlic butter added just the right amount of punch. The desert was simple, no fuss and the ice cream was beautifully light and fluffy. Our empanadas were also delicious, with wagyu and wrapped in a tasty pastry and a home made salsa, they were perfect. It’s rare these days to be genuinely surprised by how good a place is — but this wasn’t just good, it was memorable, and we will definitely be back! We’re already planning our return visit, and if you’re even remotely a fan of steak, you owe it to yourself to go.

18/06/2025: Came here as a Niall’s fan and it was the absolute best experience. They are the kindest and most thoughtful persons I’ve ever met. Highly HIGHLY recommend coming here, whether you’re fans or not.

07/06/2025: Just was to say a massive thank you to all the staff for making our day even more amazing , we travelled to Ireland for the day so my daughter could visit where Niall comes from . The staff here are amazing , we felt extremely welcomed and my daughter had smile from ear to ear , when we return some time in the future we all definitely be back so thank you all , keep doing what you’re doing

03/08/2025: I recently dined at a charming pub and restaurant by the name of Weirs, and I must say, it was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming and cozy, perfect for a relaxing evening out. The food was absolutely delicious, with fresh ingredients and expertly prepared dishes. I highly recommend this establishment for anyone seeking a delightful meal in a pleasant setting. I will certainly be returning for another visit soon.

15/07/2025: The food is amazing - full of flavour and decent portion sizes. The staff are incredibly polite and even on their busiest days, the wait time is minimal. We booked a table in advance. Starter: Deep fried Brie with sweet chilli sauce & Goats cheese on a toasted ciabatta Main: Tikka fettuccine & Pasta primavera Dessert: Banoffee pie & Hot chocolate pudding & mint ice cream

07/07/2025: Food is excellent and the staff are brilliant. The only complaint I've ever had about Il Colosseo is how slow it takes to be served your food. This is ok for a date or romantic meal, but not so good when going for a family meal with kids
