02/04/2025: This was possibly the worst sandwich I have ever had, I asked for chicken salad sandwich with no tomato, I got soggy bread, that had obviously had tomato picked out, but not before the juice and seeds had soaked into the break, little bit of lettuce and sad chicken also soaked in tomato, my partners food was no better, very disappointing

25/02/2025: We recently had the pleasure of visiting this fantastic, authentic Irish pub in Mullingar, and I honestly can’t say enough about it. There was a group of 10 of us visiting from California and from the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. The bar owner, Kieran is amazing– so welcoming, friendly, and really made us feel like part of the family. You can tell they take great pride in their pub and their community. All the bartenders are fabulous. What stood out the most, though, was how the locals welcomed us. They were incredibly warm, engaging, and just genuinely happy to have us there. It’s not often you find a place where both the staff and the customers make you feel like you’re not just a tourist, but someone they’re happy to share a pint with. They even taught us how to properly pour a pint of Guinness. There is great live music and dancing. It was such a memorable night. If you’re in Mullingar, do yourself a favor and make a stop here. It’s not just a pub – it’s a true Irish experience, filled with great conversation, great drinks, and even better people. Can’t wait to return next time we’re in town! Thank you, Kieran and staff!!

03/02/2025: We were staying in a hotel near bye and Clakes was recommended to us and we were not disappointed, good band,played 80s music. Staff friendly and service was excellent. highly recommended

15/04/2025: This is a absolute must on your trip to Ireland!!! The oldest pub in Ireland, guiness world record. Get a whiskey tasting and Timmy will talk your ear off. Trust me, you could listen to him tell you stories for hours. Bring your service patch, their wall was fantastic. In the shadow boxes are the original walls from 900BC. Beautiful Shannon river right beside the side bar that the town was built around. Do skip this spot.

This place is especially wonderful during the New Year holidays. That is why it is in the TOP 3 of my favorite pubs in Athlone. In my opinion, it's not a cheap PAB.

18/02/2025: I’m heartbroken to be saying goodbye to Fine. For more than 5 years, I've worked just a few steps from this place and throughout the years it has felt like more than just a coffee shop to me. The coffee? The best in town as said by many. The food? Delicious and comforting. The vibes? exquisite and cosy. But what truly made Fine special was the people. Ciaran,Laura, Axel, Laoise, Gary, Claire, Sinead, Emily, Shane and many other lovely staff members not only kept me well-fed but also have provided a warm, welcoming space where I’ve started my mornings, taken many many breaks, vented, laughed, ended my day, the team who knew to be reaching for the teabags and oat milk before I was in the door and who always greeted me and said goodbye with a smile, and made every visit feel like home. It’s hard to imagine my routine without this place, and I know I’m not alone in saying that Fine will be deeply missed. Thank you for everything—you’ve created something truly special, and I wish you all the best in your next chapter. ❤️

23/03/2025: What an amazing restaurant. Food and service was amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection and rested and served perfectly with some nice red wine .

02/03/2025: This was the most delicious food ever! Everything was fantastic and the service was lovely. We tried the Argentinian chorizo, the rib eye and the steak txogitxu striploin with hand cut fries, garlic butter and salsa criolla and the churros with dulce de leche. I can confirm that the food was cooked to perfection as they advertise it on their website. It was perfect and I highly recommend it!

28/03/2025: I had my daughters ears pierced here a couple of months ago. Joanne was amazing with her! She was very patient with my 7 year old daughter and took her time. My daughter's ear looked as if she had always had them done. She's had no infection, and they have healed perfectly. I would definitely recommend Angel Art for piercing! 💚

31/03/2025: I visited Savoury Fair Athlone for the first time and it was an Absolute Pleasure to have my Breakfast in this Amazing Restaurant My usual place is The Poppy Fields but they had a fire in their kitchens so it’s out of order for the foreseeable….. The Savoury Fair Restaurant Food Wise and the different platters available is Excellent everything to suit everyone’s Palate and the Hygiene was 100% all round The Quality / Service and the Floor Staff were Absolutely Fantastic coming around asking if I wanted any more Breakfast / Top Up my Hot Strong Tea which I ordered or more Toast Their is Two Floors Ground and First Floor Fully Serviced by the Floor Staff The First Floor looks over the Entrance to the Cafe through an Atrium great idea The Crockery is So Quaint and Colourful ( pics attached ) This Restaurant has Everything Humanly Possible to Delight Everyone who enters the premises Keep Up the Fantastic Work Guys and Keep Doing what your Doing

27/02/2025: I like Savoury Fare in Fern Hill. Nice spot. Always busy. However, for a sandwich or light snack, it has become quite expensive with less value than many comparable restaurants. I certainly will go back but it's become a bit inconsistent in recent times.
