11/03/2025: This was my second time at Thyme and what I can say is that the place is always amazing The staff are helpful, smiling and attentive, everything is impeccable and the food is fantastic

09/03/2025: Had a fabulous meal in Thyme last week- food was top notch, staff were great and there was a lovely atmosphere- only negative is that it is very difficult to get parking close by.

09/03/2025: Enjoyed a truly delicious and very memorable dinner at Browne's last night. David and the team looked after us so well. The food was divine and the portions were huge! Highly recommend for a lovely meal out.

25/02/2025: We recently had the pleasure of visiting this fantastic, authentic Irish pub in Mullingar, and I honestly can’t say enough about it. There was a group of 10 of us visiting from California and from the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. The bar owner, Kieran is amazing– so welcoming, friendly, and really made us feel like part of the family. You can tell they take great pride in their pub and their community. All the bartenders are fabulous. What stood out the most, though, was how the locals welcomed us. They were incredibly warm, engaging, and just genuinely happy to have us there. It’s not often you find a place where both the staff and the customers make you feel like you’re not just a tourist, but someone they’re happy to share a pint with. They even taught us how to properly pour a pint of Guinness. There is great live music and dancing. It was such a memorable night. If you’re in Mullingar, do yourself a favor and make a stop here. It’s not just a pub – it’s a true Irish experience, filled with great conversation, great drinks, and even better people. Can’t wait to return next time we’re in town! Thank you, Kieran and staff!!

03/02/2025: We were staying in a hotel near bye and Clakes was recommended to us and we were not disappointed, good band,played 80s music. Staff friendly and service was excellent. highly recommended

01/03/2025: Is a must stop if u are passing by! We stopped for dinner, and I had the delicious Chicken Chorizo sauce OMG just the perfect kick of heat portion is definitely generous. My boyfriend had the steak sandwich, first place that u don't actually have to search for the meat cause the portion is good. No drinks cause we were driving, but a sneaky takeaway dessert, I will comeback for more rice pudding 👌🏻

27/02/2025: Called in today to catch up with an old friend, & was greeted by a really pleasant & friendly girl. I ordered the homemade soup, brown bread, & a toasted cheese & tomato sandwich. The soup was served piping hot, with some fresh & tasty bread. Unfortunately the sandwich was a real disappointment. A tiny sandwich cut into four triangles, each of which you could eat in one go. With a miniscule piece of melted cheese, & even less tomato. A really poor offering, & a shame, given the early positive vibes.

09/02/2025: The staff here are very pleasant & good at their job. Unfortunately, on the night we visited, circa 8p.m, three items on the menu were unavailable. It's not cheap, but the food is excellent.

01/03/2025: Way overpriced. The food was good but would not return. Went for lunch there and enjoyed the food, but the prices were 5 star hotel prices, not pub grub.

04/02/2025: That typical Irish place for food and a few drinks! The food is always good, sometimes the portions could be just a little bit bigger, but they have so many more positives, that the portion size gets thrown to the background! No doubt a place you must go in Athlone! Unfortunately no food after 5pm but you can't have it all! Ahaha

23/03/2025: What an amazing restaurant. Food and service was amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection and rested and served perfectly with some nice red wine .

02/03/2025: This was the most delicious food ever! Everything was fantastic and the service was lovely. We tried the Argentinian chorizo, the rib eye and the steak txogitxu striploin with hand cut fries, garlic butter and salsa criolla and the churros with dulce de leche. I can confirm that the food was cooked to perfection as they advertise it on their website. It was perfect and I highly recommend it!

24/02/2025: Lovely place with a cozy atmosphere. During peak hours there might not be enough sitting. I had a lovely Strawberry Jam yogurt

07/03/2025: Had my daughter’s 8th birthday party with the women in Angel art! It was so brilliant. All The kids had a ball! Such a nice change to the usual options and they are so good with the kids!!!! Highly recommended!

16/02/2025: One of the BEST vegetarian breakfasts I’ve had. And that’s saying something! Everything is home made and you can taste the love that goes into their food 😍 Also dog friendly, very friendly 🐾🐾 Such lovely friendly staff HIGHLY RECOMMEND 👍👍👍
