18/01/2025: Amazing food here, great variety on the menu, great location in Athlone (can nip into Gertie’s before and after for a pint), we make it a point to visit every year on the annual Athlone visit! Highly recommended

10/01/2025: Wonderful food and service this evening, Friday 11/01/2025. Myself and my wife had the “value menu” and we each tried separate starters, main courses and desert. We both loved each of the dishes presented. The service was excellent and the restaurant and toilets are extremely clean. Super, super value at €45 per head and we will be back.

12/02/2025: I had the chance to visit Sean’s Bar in Athlone, the oldest bar in Ireland, and it was a fantastic experience. The place has a traditional, old-style charm that truly makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. From the outside, it looks small, but once inside, it opens up into cozy spaces with a larger seating area at the back. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a pint and soak in the authentic Irish pub experience. Whether you’re a local or a traveler, it’s a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy a piece of history with great drinks. Highly recommended!

29/12/2024: Had the pleasure to stop off at Bracken's Friday evening along with my wife and my sister. Returning from a funeral in Dublin we were cold and hungry. Brackens certainly didn't disappoint. We were made to feel very welcome as soon as we walked through the door. Given a comfortable table in a warm corner and supplied with a very full and interesting menu pretty much straight away. The lady did everything possible to ensure our comfort even offering to join a second table to ours if we were a bit crowded but we were absolutely fine. Some of the specials of the day sounded very appealing so we each ordered something different, we all got fantastic meals but special mentions has to go to my wife's dinner of baked chicken in chorizo sauce, we all had little sample tastes and it was to die for.. if we weren't out in company believe me the plate would have been well licked.🤭 We won't pass through Kinnegad again without stopping off here if we're on the hunt for something tasty.

20/01/2025: Came across this pub while we were looking around Athlone. We were looking for a good decent lunch, and were not disappointed. We got a roast dinner each and it was gorgeous. The beef was like butter, cooked to perfection and the veg and mash could not be faulted. Definitely pop into here if you’re looking for a good hearty Irish meal with good customer service. Also a traditional looking pub with an old feel to it so the atmosphere was great

14/01/2025: Our first visit to this place. Simply by the business, you know you're in for a treat. It's got a great vibe to it and the atmosphere is really good. Food-wise it has a great selection and it was all incredibly tasty. My son's new favourite food is sticky rice. Drinks were good and the service was spot on. I would definitely recommend it.

01/12/2024: The staff were really friendly and couldn’t have been nicer. The menu looked amazing at first, with so many options. I went for the ham hock with creamy mushrooms, poached egg, and brown bread—it sounded a bit random, but I was curious to see how it would work. When it arrived, it was basically a bowl of mushrooms with the ham hock and poached egg plonked on top, covered in hollandaise. Sadly, it didn’t come together at all, and the egg, which I’d asked for medium, still had runny whites. Just wasn’t what I’d hoped for. My friends dishes were just as random

28/12/2024: Food and Service: The food was exceptionally tasty. We tried nearly all the chicken starters, each prepared freshly and full of flavor. A special mention to the lady who prepared and garnished the dishes beautifully—she did an amazing job. This place is definitely worth a visit! Ambience: The restaurant operates within an Asian supermarket, so the ambiance isn't particularly elegant. However, the environment is very clean and well-kept. There's absolutely nothing wrong with supporting talented individuals like these!

21/12/2024: Got a tattoo off Lorna recently, she was 100 percent from start to finish and made it such an easy going experience. Gave me lots of size options and made sure I was 100 percent happy before she put it in ink, tattoo healing perfectly and she gave great advice to ensure this, cant reccomend this place enough :)

20/12/2024: Fantastic tattoo parlour. I would highly recommend tattoo or piercing work you want done get it from here whether it's your first or last I have to say they are brilliant. I'm very happy with all the work I have had done here very good and grateful to all staff. Any age welcome with parental consent

17/01/2025: Good food at reasonable price. Service good. I visited on a Thursday night in January when the restaurant wasn't very busy. There was a full choice available and service was prompt and attentive. Aa the tourist season progresses this restaurant will be busier and the athmosphere will be improved. A starter, two main courses plus coffee and drinks for a couple came to €80 incl tip.
