07/10/2026: This beautiful place served the best meal I've ever had in my life. An unforgettable experience from the moment we walked through the door. Sasha was an amazing server! The food was not only a work of art but absolutely delicious! If I was at home with that stature food I would've licked the plate with no shame. Just absolutely perfect from start to finish. Get the ham hock with crispy egg, I insist!

17/10/2026: I’m a real stickler when it comes to steak. I’ve ordered it in countless restaurants, and honestly, I leave disappointed about 99% of the time. 1810 Steakhouse in Athlone belongs firmly in that rare 1% I would happily return to. My wife and I travelled from Birr, County Offaly. I ordered the T-bone with bone marrow mash and seasonal vegetables, and she had the striploin with the same sides. We both agreed, without hesitation, that these were the best steaks we have ever eaten in our lives. For someone who is so often disappointed when ordering steak, being able to say that means a lot. The bone marrow mash was a wonderful accompaniment, but the steaks were what made this a meal we’ll remember. This is the kind of restaurant you leave already planning your next visit. 1810 deserves recognition well beyond Athlone, and we’ll be recommending it to anyone who will listen. If you’re particular about your steak, make the journey. We did, and we would do it again in a heartbeat.

02/10/2026: Ordered 2 ribeyes (with lobster). They were very flavorful… but extremely tough to cut (lot of tendons). The “sauces” they come with aren’t sauces but herb butters that were hard as rocks and came right out of the refrigerator. Staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Oysters were very good… but the experience as a whole wasn’t great. For dry aged steaks (which I know a lot about)… these weren’t very good. Also paid 50 dollars to make a reservation… which they still charged me… they just took 50 dollars off the bill. In my humble opinion… they shouldn’t have charged me for the reservation at all because we showed up. The price paid for experience had… not worth it and ruined the meal. Would not come back again.

15/10/2026: Small pub now extended at the back to a huge space. Great place for the vibe and the traditional music.

26/10/2026: We stopped here for coffee on our way through Mullingar today and the coffee was excellent and the cakes were absolutely delicious. I wish it was closer to home so I could come back soon bit will definitely be making a stop here on our next road trip.

26/09/2026: I'm a huge Niall Horan fan and I really wanted to visit his hometown. We found this bar, where the owner took the time to show us all the details about the singer. It's a really great place, whether you're a fan of the artist or not!

20/09/2026: There is only one reason a 22yo girl from the midwestern United States finds herself in Mullingar, and though I may have visited because of a certain Irish pop star, I stayed because of the warm hospitality shown to me at Clarke's. It was a cold and rainy day in Mullingar, and I stopped outside of Clarke's to take a picture of the sign. I had no idea how much more awaited me inside, and thankfully, an employee saw my Niall Horan sweatshirt and urged me to go inside for the full tour. The owner showed me around the iconic space, and repeatedly urged me to stay longer and enjoy the music playing from the TV. I truly can't express how great a time I had at Clarke's. The owner and the staff were so welcoming, and checked several times to make sure I was comfortable. I spent a couple of hours there, and returned later in the day to try my very first Guinness and journal about how great the experience was. Of all the memories I made during my time in Ireland, my afternoon at Clarke's Bar is my favorite. If you're a Niall fan who is considering stopping in, it is a must-see! : )

30/08/2026: At a celebration meal for circa 25 people - wonderful location. Food and service was excellent. The staff are so pleasant and helpful.

19/08/2026: I went in there on Thursday, the staff were so kind and helpful, I got my piercing done by angel and she was amazing she talked me through every step, I genuinely didn’t feel a thing she was so quick. I didn’t even have time to react, I really do recommend getting your piercings in angel arts you won’t regret it at all!!!!!!!! Thank you so much. :)

10/10/2026: Passing through in October during our Lough Ree cruise, we discovered this dream location. A stunning view, impeccable service, lovely staff, and above all... dogs are welcome! Molly was thrilled to eat her first puppyccino, and we left with stars in our eyes (which we're returning the favor with this 5-star review).

20/08/2026: The waitress was kind and welcoming even with foreign customers who didn't understand the language.

19/08/2026: The Bartender at Sean's Bar recommended we eat here for lunch. I am very thankful we headed his advice! The Sea Food Chowder was spot on. Irish Cheese steak had the perfect sauce to it. Best of all the service. Our waitress was really sweet, spoke with everyone at the table as if she really wanted us to be there. Sounds weird but, she had a kind heart and it showed! She checked in on us multiple times. I wish I had caught her name. I think she had an Italian accent. We spoke about our kids. She had a son, 16. She is fantastic! All the best to her!!
