19/07/2026: Lovely bar,lot of tourists not even drinking,service very good,music so good atmosphere hard to get a seat !! Didn't like the Guinness but that could be just me.Anyway stayed until closing drinking cider so they doing something right !!!

02/07/2026: One of those amazing moments yesterday where a random stop off the highway turns out to be perfect. Wonderful food and spectacular coffee in magical little spot next to the river. Best lunch we had in Ireland.

06/07/2026: Delicious Thai food! We went in downstairs and were a little surprised, but it got even better as we went upstairs. The lemonade was also incredibly tasty. The ambiance was nice, with hard chairs. 😊

05/07/2026: Delicious Thai food with a dedicated vegan menu. Full of flavour and quick attentive service. Thoroughly recommended. Please note the restaurant bio on here says dog friendly, alas they are not.

08/07/2026: We got a table for 4 in the evening, the food was delicious and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The noise level was a little high but it was pretty full so that was to be expected.

06/07/2026: Lovely experience until waitress decided to spray clean tables right next to us while we where finishing dessert/ wine.. so we got mouthful of dissinfectant.. not so pleasant.. and not necessary to spray so much onto tables... otherwise lovely food, nice atmosphere. Would return

06/07/2026: Might not look much from outside but it's a really atmospheric place with friendly service and a great pint of Guinness. I hear the food is good too.

06/07/2026: Met at the door by a rude lady with a top knot held in with a claw clip. We waited for a seat and she met us with a rude tone and face then said follow me and went up these steps. We had a buggy with our baby in it so I was unsure if we were meant to follow her or not. At this stage I’m upset and kind of want to leave but we drove all the way in to come so we stayed. All of the other servers are lovely and friendly they made sure everything was ok. Food was nice. I like that they have a juice and water station you can just help yourself. Just upsetting with that one lady who just ruined the rest of our time there to be honest, felt unwelcome with my baby.

02/07/2026: My experience at this cafe was excellent. The staff were so welcoming to me and my dog Alfie. They provided some treats, a water bowl and even a little mat for him to relax on. Alfie is a nervous dog and the staff were so kind, they went above and beyond. I had the mushrooms on toast breakfast which was so tasty and a lovely coffee too. I would highly recommend this cafe and most especially to anyone travelling with their dog.

30/06/2026: Solid food on our drive from Dublin to Galway. Weird menu but well executed food. You will have to prompt the family serving when you're ready to order or need more drinks and again to pay, but food came fairly quickly. We dined at lunch overlooking the river.

24/05/2026: I got into the pub and the music was there. A lovely group playing a nice, smooth and evolving music, bodhrán included. Just great, believe it. As a plus, beef stew was tasty. It is a good place for a chilled talk and some drinks.

21/05/2026: The best pub and bistro in Westmeath for sure !!! Food ( always such a variety to choose from, generous portions , lovely atmosphere, service just fantastic!!! We are regulars in there and always getting the best experience!🥰 definitely recommend when in Athlone 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

18/06/2026: I happened upon this little gem on a rainy Thursday evening and was delighted to do so. The dogs are just beautiful and the Guinness is very good.
