14/08/2026: Good restaurant in Athlone. Central location, with easy street parking. Argentinian cuisine. Excellent aged meats, although fish is also on the menu. Charcoal grilled meats. Very well prepared. Attentive and professional service. Good wine list, but limited to Argentinian reds. Reasonably priced. Well worth a visit.

06/09/2026: Fine is the a wonderful place for the true Italian experience. Beautifully decorated inside, with such a relaxing atmosphere. You truly feel welcome by such gem of a family. The espresso just divine and the pizza I can only describe as perfetto ❤️ I have found my favourite place for coffee ✨

30/08/2026: After having waited for almost a whole month, I finally got to taste the flavour of the pizza from @Fine. The family welcomes you with their great Italian warm hart and big smiles. Upon waiting for the food you can taste some very good wine, from Italy. And it is worth the waiting. The pizza is incredible, the place is super cozy, and the people are the best. You will definitely leave saying, not "Good bye, thanks", but "See you shortly, loved it". And we will! :))

19/07/2026: Lovely bar,lot of tourists not even drinking,service very good,music so good atmosphere hard to get a seat !! Didn't like the Guinness but that could be just me.Anyway stayed until closing drinking cider so they doing something right !!!

24/08/2026: We had such a lovely meal here!! We had our two babies with us along with their prams which is usually a big inconvenience for restaurants and cafes (understandable but babies got to be transported somehow!) here they were so accommodating and kind which really meant so much. The food and staff were incredible, we would absolutely recommend thank you!

19/08/2026: The Bartender at Sean's Bar recommended we eat here for lunch. I am very thankful we headed his advice! The Sea Food Chowder was spot on. Irish Cheese steak had the perfect sauce to it. Best of all the service. Our waitress was really sweet, spoke with everyone at the table as if she really wanted us to be there. Sounds weird but, she had a kind heart and it showed! She checked in on us multiple times. I wish I had caught her name. I think she had an Italian accent. We spoke about our kids. She had a son, 16. She is fantastic! All the best to her!!

07/08/2026: We were wonderfully looked after by their attentive staff. A true hidden gem in Athlone, excellent food, cannot recommend the Steak Sambo enough, for people looking for an authentic “Irish Pub” feel, this definitely meets the criteria of even the most demanding traveller. We will definitely be coming here any time we are in Athlone. Superb staff and a warm welcome anytime.

04/08/2026: We enjoyed a nice lunch at the shack pub on our way to Dublin. Lindsay, our waitress, was very friendly, warm and helpful, as was the rest of the staff we interacted with. Atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with lots of neat decor to take in. Definitely a kid friendly place. Fish (haddock) and chips were tasty and I liked that they served regular peas vs the standard mushy ones.

13/08/2026: I ate at La Provence restaurant during a three day stay at the hotel. I have lots of dietary requirements and all were catered for well at both lunch and dinner times. My waiter, Thomas, was especially helpful. Each day he paid special attention to my restrictions and always met our table with a kindness and cheerfulness. It makes all the difference to customers having attentive, accommodating and friendly staff like Thomas.

08/08/2026: Excellent location, very friendly staff. Special mention to Carolin at breakfast who facilitated our elderly parents and even remembered our drinks order fron the previous morning.

22/07/2026: This place is perfect for breakfast or lunch. The food is fantastic. I asked for a delicious BLT and it came with salad and crisp also asked for dasher (panini with turkey bacon cranberry mayo and Brie cheese) and was amazing taste. And finally the carrot cake one of the best dessert in all town. The prices and the service was great. I also Highly recommend this place to crab a coffee with a good dessert.

15/08/2026: Dined here on a Friday night at 6:30 and the place was packed with people which generally suggests good food however I was misled, we were firstly seated in a room with two big groups and we were the only table of two in a very noisy environment but still gave the food the benefit of the doubt we ordered garlic mushrooms and fired Brie to start not the most Italian authentic starters for choice but we were presented with shop frozen starters with cheap sauce , then onto the mains seafood risotto and bolognaise and to say they were most flavourless mains I have ever come across and not even served in a decent tomato sauce. Service was decent.

12/08/2026: As always an absolutely fantastic meal with excellent warm service! One of the specials was lobster at a brilliant price had to indulge and did not regret! There is something for everyone on their menu and they can do gluten free meals just ask the helpful knowledgeable wait staff and they will explain your options (lots!!). I would highly recommend this lovely place
