Today i was there with my partner, we had really nice dinner in really cozy atmosphere with really nice staff. All yummy but be careful with the negroni is very strong 😀😇❤️ Now we have our favorite place ☺️

15/11/2025: We stopped in on our way to Galway and were lucky enough to enjoy live music. The staff and the locals were all very friendly to my wife and I, and kindly explained to us Americans what ‘toasties’ are. This was by far the coziest pub we stopped at during our road trip.

11/11/2025: Legend has it that this bar is the oldest in Ireland. I couldn't verify that, but judging by the staff's apparent age, they're still remarkably young! As soon as you walk in, you're captivated by the place. I also carefully observed each new customer as they entered, and the pleasant surprise was evident on every face. So I'm certain: this bar evokes emotions. You immediately feel at home and want to order everything, because you're here to sample the local brews, right? Verdict: we tasted Irish lagers that had an extraordinary flavor, both creamy and with a deliciously subtle cereal aftertaste. We chatted with Irish, Brazilians, and Americans, as if all the good company had gathered in the same place! We had an amazing time and the reputation of the place is well-deserved: the welcome was fantastic and the atmosphere was perfect! Thank you Sean's Bar for existing!

03/11/2025: Food is amazing however when I booked a reservation for my college graduation they said we would be able to book for 3.30, my my name and phone number and when we got there the place was closed. We were not the only people who this happened to as there was about 5 other families waiting at the same time. When we rang the premises we got nothing as the phone was not turned on. I do not understand why this location would approve so many reservations for a set time and then not even open. Disgraceful

01/11/2025: Bacchus is a wonderful restaurant in Athlone. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service is excellent. The view of the River Shannon adds a special charm to the place. Highly recommended. I’ll definitely be back.

27/10/2025: The sach tava (chicken) was disappointing. It was not traditional sach tava, but more a boiled/stewed chicken added to a hot tomato sauce and served in a sach with rice and no naan bread! It was cooked like chicken curry, but tasteless. Should change the naming! Baklava was fully stale, it was served heated to show like fresh, never ate that bad Turkish baklava. Better we were said that it is not available! Sorry, but I don't think i can ever come again as the only good thing was the friendly lady staff.

29/09/2025: Great morning spot. French Toast with fresh fruit, bacon, snd maple syrup was yummy. Hubby had omelette and potatoes. The vanilla latte and mochas were also tasty and even seconds to go:)

31/10/2025: I stopped into Spill the Beans Café in Athlone and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was so cute and cozy, perfectly decorated and welcoming. I had an amazing chai latte, one of the best I’ve had anywhere. They also offer a great selection of baked goods, including some lovely gluten-free options, which was such a nice touch. It’s the kind of place you could easily spend an afternoon relaxing or catching up with friends. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

10/11/2025: Don't eat here! A recent meal of beef burger and bangers & mash had spoiled / smelly meat. When told about the issue, the manager was less than helpful and made the situation worse with his attitude.

08/11/2025: Excellent venison stew with Guinness. Fish and chips were okay. Authentic atmosphere. I recommend a visit.

26/11/2025: We had a wonderful evening at Fatted Calf. The ambiance was beautiful, and lovely background music played softly. The welcome was warm and inviting. The service was attentive, humorous, and never intrusive! The food was divine! The combination of the appetizer with the black pudding croquettes, the scallops, and the various sauces was an explosion of flavor! Thank you! For the main course, the meat was tender and juicy with a delicious chimichurri sauce. Wonderful! The desserts were simply amazing! Our restaurant visit was the highlight of our time here in Athlone!
