The best restaurants in Wexford

28/09/2025: Waking up craving açai, I looked up places near me that did it. Seeing as this was one of the first places that came up for me I didn’t think anything of it when I tapped directions and let google maps determine my fate for the morning. As my friend and I walked through the doors of the cabin looking cafe we examined the menu for açai. I was instantly impressed by their base options and let my hopes get the best of me. I made a bee line for the lady at the till and asked her if I could mix the dragonfruit and açai. She said coldly “no. We don’t mix them.” To which I thought, maybe you should. Nonetheless I made my order doing my best to keep words to a minimum as I realised I had somehow crossed a line by asking. As we waited for our order my friend notices our açai and dragonfruit bowls are being defrosted like a chicken breast in the microwave. I see the vision but…we simply did not have defrosted freezer tasting açai in mind when ordering. But I should’ve known from the First Lady’s expression how my açai was going to taste. I just wished it was as cold as the look she gave me after I asked my apparently offensive question. I did learn a valuable lesson today. Don’t ask questions at the till, and when you see your açai being defrosted, run.

14/02/2025: It's pretty much your average "coffee shop" with a moderate coffee choice, some baked goods, and pre-made cold sandwiches. The coffee was ok, as was the sandwich. So long as you don't hope for it being "awesome" you won't be disappointed.

08/09/2025: Stayed here a couple of times for a night out in Gorey. Right in the middle of town, really clean room and comfy bed. Lovely food and friendly staff.

24/08/2025: Great pub normally. Ruined this time by a total lack of respect for the smoking ban. Lads Vaping all over the pub, it got so bad you could see the smoke hanging in the air . Whoever the owner is should be ashamed . I won’t be going back until this problem is acknowledged. So sorry for saying but it just shows a that the boss doesn’t care about his customers? Katarzyna 😢

29/03/2025: Kelly's is always a favourite watering hole. Toddy has the place running exceptionally well, I highly recommend it and was pleasently surprised to see Mick working there on my last visit. Don't visit Wexford without visiting Kelly's on the Corner....

06/08/2025: We would have definitely given 5 stars except the wine was over priced. The food quality and service was out standing. The consistentcy of the quality of the food and service has been maintained for over 30 years of our experience and I suspect for much longer than that. We would highly recommend

11/09/2024: **addendum** Like the owner says (and must have complained to remove my legitimate review, which was admittedly some time ago, so perhaps they've changed), the type of reimagined Mexican food you get in the states isn't authentic, nor does it claim to be, but when you're getting massive portions at a truck stop a couple hundred miles from Mexico, cooked by 3 generations of Mexican women, and eaten by Mexican truckers, you can be pretty sure the stuff is decent. Plus, you're 99% of the time going to get even more flavorful dishes in the origin country, and good US-Mex is already incredibly tasty, while I just couldn't say the same for what we had here. So while the owner may well be serving authentic Mexican dishes with pomegranate bits, it's just not something I'd go back for, and again, certainly not at this price and more so keeping in mind that Mexico is far from a rich nation with expensive dishes with a pretentious flair. All the same, I wish them the best and hope other patrons do enjoy their food. **/addendum** It was okay. Not 'authentic', based on my growing up in the US (Tex-Mex, Cali-Mex), so perhaps there are parts of Mexico that have food like this, but I kinda doubt it. It's more Mexican reimagined. Even considering tax and tip, I can get much better fare in the States pretty much anywhere. Service is fine, ambience is good, food presentation is good, and it's the first place I've ever been where there's more guacamole than chips, which is odd, though not 6 Euro odd. While the freshly deep-fried chips are better than out-of-the-bag ones you'd get in most places, I'd rather they be made of corn tortillas instead of flour. Crispy beef tacos look nice, however, they lack punch or depth of flavor, almost as if it had no seasoning, not even salt. This is surprising, given the amount of queso that should be in there. The side of sauce tastes basically like beef drippings and doesn't really add much, either. The fried chicken is vastly different. Again, not a Mex dish I'm familiar with, but it was tasty, with cumin (?) and chilli peppers in the batter. Cheesecake looked better than it tasted. Neither creamy nor dense, it was more like dehydrated curds or something. Passion fruit sauce was nice, but like most everything else, the bulk of the item just wasn't rich. As for the Moonlight Margarita, the big cube of ice is a fancy touch, but it's the first margarita I've ever had that's served with no salt on the rim and a dried lime slice instead of fresh. 3 stars if the price was better.

04/04/2025: Easily the best pints of Guinness in Wexford if not Ireland, no doubt about it 👍 I spent 100+ because the pints are that nice, creamy as they come

28/03/2025: The bartender said....now tell me thats not the best beer you ever had....and well it mighta been the best beer I ever had... best tasting Guiness ever. Will go back.

25/05/2025: Difficult! Saltees is a hotel/motel with a restaurant. The food is delicious and of good quality, the service is good, and the staff is friendly. But: The restaurant atmosphere is unworthy of a high-class hotel. The seating seems cheap, the ambiance lacks motivation, and the bar is a permanent fixture—including drunk and rowdy guests. Furthermore, there's a pool table right next to the restaurant tables, within easy reach of the cues. It's a real shame.
