27/05/2026: Cracking beer garden and a wonderful pint of Guinness too!! Best spot in Gorey

26/05/2026: A very warm welcome. As it didn't have a separate entrance to the beer garden, I poked the head in the bar while leaving the two dogs outside to ask was it dog friendly. The barman said it was and dogs are welcome inside as well as outside. As I ordered my pint, the barman brought in a water bowl for the dogs straight away and came over to say hello. Very cosy environment and pints are a very reasonable price!

13/05/2026: Very good cafeteria. A great place to take a break during your visit. Very friendly staff.

31/03/2026: Delicious food made with fresh ingredients. The service was very friendly, and despite the large number of guests, the food arrived quickly. The coffee was outstanding.

29/08/2026: The food here is nice but the service is hit and miss. Sometimes you can get a decent server, other times you're lucky to get what you ordered. It is in a convenient location outside of the town.

20/08/2026: Gorgeous little building, food was so tasty and we will back again to have a sweet treat as the cakes look DIVINE!!

17/08/2026: Went there yesterday for pizza and some french fries. Pizza is amazing guys. Pizza dough so tasty tomato base was so perfect made! It was nice to sit there and listen to guys who are working that they are talking to each other and making jokes it felt really nice to hear that for a change! Only one small thing - french fries were more cooked than deep fried but that's all! Thank you so much!

28/06/2026: Nice pizza. Fully loaded. Multiple veg and vegan options. Excellent quality.

04/09/2026: We stopped for lunch, and everything we ordered was delicious. They also have tables for eating inside, which is a nice touch. Since they have a shop, they offer a wide variety of drinks, including wines and beers. It's very busy at lunchtime, but the service is very quick. With such a high turnover, you can tell the food isn't sitting around and is always freshly prepared. We'll be back.

22/04/2026: Always a friendly welcome at this service station. Good food, great coffee and buns. Good sandwiches and wraps as well as hot food. It has a nice indoor and outdoor seating area. It even has a laundry with huge washing machines, an automatic, warm, dog washing machine - which is super (I've tried it). It has air and water for your car too. It's great.

04/08/2026: Jack was our saviour and let us camp out back for the night. Great atmosphere, great hospitality. Everyone made sure we had everything we needed to keep us going on our journey cycling from Dublin to Spain.

20/07/2026: Had to send my fish and chips back to the kitchen as soon as it arrived because the portion of fish was so small. The staff was pleasant and when she brought a new piece out, it was still small but she said it was an 8 ounce. This place seems to think fish is served in weights similar to steaks, utterly unbelievable.

04/08/2026: We had a great experience here yesterday. The food was excellent, the staff were lovely, and the service was quick and efficient. We ordered the Kinder Pancake Stack, the Breakfast Pancake Stack, and an açai bowl. All of the food was fresh, delicious, and really enjoyable. For drinks, we had a Wild Strawberry Iced Matcha, a Mango Passion Cooler, and a Kinder Latte. The Kinder Latte wasn't quite to our taste, but the other drinks were great and complemented the meal well. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit. The quality of the food, friendly service, and welcoming atmosphere made for a great experience. We'd definitely come back again and would recommend it to others!

03/08/2026: Could use some work on drink making consistency. Got a drink last week that was amazing. Got the same drink today and it didn't taste as good and was missing the Boba. The staff working have all been friendly.

28/08/2026: Spice bag was lovely and a good size. Staff were friendly and plenty of seating space which is nice.

17/08/2026: Fast service, with excellent service and staff are very friendly. Good value for fish 🐟 and chips 🍟. One I'd definitely go back for.

05/08/2026: First impression as we walked past it drew us in. Nice relaxed atmosphere, staff were lovely and food was excellent. Other customers around us all finished their meals with little or nothing left behind.

01/06/2026: Disgraceful and unpleasant stay. Family of 3 (2 adults + 9yr old kid) Stayed for 2 nights(sleepless) in their Slaney Family suite room - Annex building (Room 605) .This is completely opposite of Treacy's hotel in other location. Holidays are meant to be pleasant stay but this isnt. KINDLY AVOID GOING HERE, and this definitely is not a 4 star hotel and heres why - this room is 5 mins walk away from hotel (behind a weird apartment building) with very compact parking spaces - Room itself is a complete disaster. See the pics attached. I took a video but couldnt attach here * spiders everywhere * found cockroach on the pillow * Rugs are pitch dirty, cant roam in bare foot, even socks gets dirty within mins * Broken room vents (dusty) * Dirty bathroom with bugs in the shower area * Mattress is worst. Low quality Spring mattress in a 4 start hotel.. omg thats insane. * noisy atmosphere - Food was OK I called and spoke with the lady in the front desk immediately after I saw the room as it was nothing as advertised. Explained everything to her but she offerred me a room in 2nd floor and alsl said all our rooms are the same. Obviosuly we couldnt move with all the luggage as there are no lifts in the building . Never ever coming back..

03/08/2026: I was really disappointed with our experience here. To begin with, we had to wait 20 minutes just to place our order. After finally getting to the counter, we were told they had no Southern Fried Chicken, no taco mince, and no batter burgers. What made this even more frustrating was that the staff seemed to have plenty of time to sing and shout "Happy Birthday" to a customer, yet nobody thought to inform the long queue of customers that several popular menu items had already sold out. A simple announcement would have saved everyone a lot of time. We were then told our food would be ready in 20 minutes, which we were happy to wait for. However, when we returned after those 20 minutes, we ended up waiting another 30 minutes before our food was finally ready. In total, it took around 50 minutes after ordering, on top of the 20-minute wait just to place the order. Overall, the lack of communication, poor organisation, and excessive waiting times made for a very frustrating experience. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I wouldn't recommend this chipper.

28/05/2026: Popped in for some weekday lunch. My son really enjoyed his sausages and chips and I had seafood chowder It was the best tasting chowder I've had in years. We definitely will be back next time we're in the area.

04/08/2026: Had a great meal, the food was absolutely brilliant. The service from the staff is second to none, they are extremely attentive. The restaurant was busy which is a good sign, with the quality of food and service it easy to see why.

25/07/2026: One of the nicest meals we've ever had. The attention to detail, presentation, taste, generous portions. Extremely friendly and very attentive without been overwhelming. A beautiful restaurant. Highly recommendatied.

28/06/2026: Severe security failure – Intoxicated intruder entered our room at 3AM ​​Our family stay at the Amber Springs Hotel was marred by a serious security incident that has left us deeply concerned about the hotel’s safety standards. ​At 3AM, an intoxicated individual walked directly into our room while we were sleeping. To wake up and find a drunk stranger inside our room, while traveling with a young child, was a terrifying experience and our feeling of vulnerability was absolute. ​The issue stemmed from the room’s heavy fire door, which failed to automatically close and latch as it is designed to do. This is a clear maintenance and safety failure. ​What followed in the morning was just as disappointing as the incident itself. There was a complete absence of leadership; no member of management reached out to check on us or acknowledge the gravity of the situation. Instead, we were forced to repeatedly approach the front desk to demand a resolution and an explanation, having to chase the staff for any form of assistance or information. ​When we finally engaged with management, the response was shockingly dismissive. Instead of addressing the maintenance failure or the unacceptable safety breach involving an intoxicated intruder, the hotel insisted that we were at fault for "not closing the door." Suggesting that a family would deliberately leave their room door ajar in the middle of the night—especially when the door is a heavy, self-closing fire door—is an insulting deflection of responsibility. ​For a hotel that markets itself as a family-friendly destination, the dismissal of such a fundamental security breach and the total lack of proactive management care is completely unacceptable. ​If you are a parent choosing a hotel, please consider that safety and accountability should be the top priority. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here. I would strongly advise other families to look elsewhere.
