The best restaurants in Wexford

18/12/2024: We go there every year in August. Really well run. The food and staff are excellent.

09/11/2024: Today I was very disappointed with this restaurant, as I already had an experience and it was pleasant in that it led me to return, but what was my surprise when I arrived at 8:55 pm asking for a table for two people, when I was refused because they were going to close when the closing time is 22:00, I felt that it was a unwillingness to serve as it was not crowded, there were lots of empty tables, in a place where reservations cannot be made and where I arrived 1 hour before closing and still having made a 50-minute journey minutes and go back, it will certainly be a restaurant not to return to.

08/06/2025: Why did you change your recipe for the lamb bhuna and lamb rogan josh? It was some of the best I've had previously but the last 3 times we've had it it's a completely different recipe and it's not nice at all. I don't know if it's a new chef or new owners or what the story is, but please change it back. The quality of the lamb is also poor with lots of sinew and the Quantity of lamb is also much less with mostly just salty overly tomato sauce. Previously it also had some onion etc which is also now not included. Very disappointed.

03/06/2025: Ordered online for delivery paid by card order was accepted , got a phone call 2 minutes later to say they had refused my order and were not delivering it as my order was to plain 2 rice 2 crackers , they said it wasn’t worth delivering I explained my son had additional needs and only likes plain foods and the man told me he wasn’t giving me my money back as I had wasted his time , absolutely horrible service !!

12/03/2025: We were a family of six and were staying in the house next door to celebrate my Dad's 80th birthday. We visited on our first evening, just for one as we had been up since 4am. This turned into several as the atmosphere was so nice, decor is lovely and very cosy feel. Lots of family games around such as snakes and ladders, connect4, draughts etc which were good fun. Arlo the owner was so nice, all of the staff were, so friendly and welcoming. My Dad was really keen to visit again the next night (his actual birthday) and as soon as we went in they wished him happy birthday, asked about his day and then Arlo insisted on not charging us for our last round. Unfortunately, the food truck wasn't starting up again until the week after we left so we didn't get to sample what sounds like great food. Would highly recommend you visit if you're in the area.

16/02/2025: this is the worst bad place I've ever been, the waiters are angry and rude and the food is not tasty.

11/09/2024: **addendum** Like the owner says (and must have complained to remove my legitimate review, which was admittedly some time ago, so perhaps they've changed), the type of reimagined Mexican food you get in the states isn't authentic, nor does it claim to be, but when you're getting massive portions at a truck stop a couple hundred miles from Mexico, cooked by 3 generations of Mexican women, and eaten by Mexican truckers, you can be pretty sure the stuff is decent. Plus, you're 99% of the time going to get even more flavorful dishes in the origin country, and good US-Mex is already incredibly tasty, while I just couldn't say the same for what we had here. So while the owner may well be serving authentic Mexican dishes with pomegranate bits, it's just not something I'd go back for, and again, certainly not at this price and more so keeping in mind that Mexico is far from a rich nation with expensive dishes with a pretentious flair. All the same, I wish them the best and hope other patrons do enjoy their food. **/addendum** It was okay. Not 'authentic', based on my growing up in the US (Tex-Mex, Cali-Mex), so perhaps there are parts of Mexico that have food like this, but I kinda doubt it. It's more Mexican reimagined. Even considering tax and tip, I can get much better fare in the States pretty much anywhere. Service is fine, ambience is good, food presentation is good, and it's the first place I've ever been where there's more guacamole than chips, which is odd, though not 6 Euro odd. While the freshly deep-fried chips are better than out-of-the-bag ones you'd get in most places, I'd rather they be made of corn tortillas instead of flour. Crispy beef tacos look nice, however, they lack punch or depth of flavor, almost as if it had no seasoning, not even salt. This is surprising, given the amount of queso that should be in there. The side of sauce tastes basically like beef drippings and doesn't really add much, either. The fried chicken is vastly different. Again, not a Mex dish I'm familiar with, but it was tasty, with cumin (?) and chilli peppers in the batter. Cheesecake looked better than it tasted. Neither creamy nor dense, it was more like dehydrated curds or something. Passion fruit sauce was nice, but like most everything else, the bulk of the item just wasn't rich. As for the Moonlight Margarita, the big cube of ice is a fancy touch, but it's the first margarita I've ever had that's served with no salt on the rim and a dried lime slice instead of fresh. 3 stars if the price was better.

18/06/2025: Got a recommendation from a local to eat here while visiting are. Good food, generous portions, and absolutely lovely people working here.

30/04/2025: I would liked to have tried the food but on two separate occasions the kitchen has shut ??? Once at 7.45.and 8.30 . To me it looks like when the cats away the mice will play.!! Never again will try to eat there again !!

27/04/2025: I had very fresh fish with chips. Large portion... service is briliant ... absolutely pleasure to spend eat time over here

24/05/2025: Purchased a BBQ online from Spice. BBQ was delivered to my door two days later. Great price and service from Spice. Will certainly use again.

04/01/2025: What a treasure trove of varied items from home pantry staples to diy, garden furniture, decor and more, Spice is always a spot to try for that item you can't seem to find anywhere else. Their hardware electrical section is very well stocked and reasonably priced compared to other local hardware shops sometimes. Great cleaning supply aisle. Garden section also good too. Seasonal products stocked here so aways worth a look to see whats new.

19/06/2025: I didn't eat there but it seemed like the people were great. I was getting the bus and I had no water and the people were kind enough to just give me a free water bottle. Definitely appreciated it

02/06/2025: The food is always so tasty! Really good Thai food that doesn't leave you feeling sluggish afterwards. I also love a restaurant where you can see into the kitchen. There are a few stairs up to the 2nd level of the restaurant where you can look down onto the lower level from a few longer tables for bigger groups. Then there is a proper stairs that bring you up to another seating area- maybe about 5 or 6 tables if I remember correctly.. its like mezzanine. It looks like an old ballroom or very grand sitting room that has been refurbished into a restaurant. It's so different! Deep red walls, statement brass lamp shades above the longer tables, 2 large chandeliers with pink lighting.. its fun! This restaurant is very popular & you really should book in advance to be sure of having a table available. Worth noting as well that they don't split bills so make sure to bring cash to cover your bill or to give to the person paying for the group.

02/05/2025: Literally just left here after having a lovely evening, the staff were amazing. So helpful and friendly, lovely wine selection and the food was amazing and cooked fresh, we can't wait to go back, would highly recommend
