22/03/2026: Had food yesterday ordered bacon and cabbage got bacon and vegetables very little cabbage not good over priced owner making so much noise pulling tables around not a good experience

21/03/2026: Had a beautiful meal with family last night in the Thomas Moore tavern, the staff were exceptional and so accommodating! The food was also delicious and not over pricy. Would definitely recommend!!

27/12/2025: Went here and waited 40 mins to be handed food was starving had to approach staff to remind them of the order , food was lovely and atmosphere was really nice

19/05/2025: Super good, one of the best places to eat on our trip. The service was incredible, attentive, fast, friendly, and correct. I also want to highlight the prices, better than in Dublin, with typical Irish food, both in quantity and quality. The downstairs is a small supermarket with takeout, and upstairs is the restaurant, a cozy and charming place.

17/04/2025: Don't often review places but we were that impressed. Impromptu stopover in the camper, with young family, before an early ferry. Friendly welcome, very accommodating and excellent food. Highly recommend!

31/12/2025: This bar is pretty quiet in the afternoon. But for games of pool it's pretty busy. Locals there are friendly and talkative. A pint of Guinness here is 5.80 euros but cheaper right in centre of town for 5.50 euros.

07/03/2026: The staff were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. They went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect and that we felt comfortable and well looked after. Their professionalism and positive attitude really stood out, and it made the whole experience even more enjoyable. It’s clear that they genuinely care about providing great service. A big thank you to the entire team especially antony their kindness and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. I would happily return again because of the excellent service.

09/03/2026: Amazing selection of wines. Finest German section I have ever seen in Ireland. Lots of special wines and some very reasonable ones from new areas. Very helpful owner.

08/03/2026: I love sizzles,All the staff working there at super friendly and don’t get me started on the burgers and chips if you are in ballycanew and not getting a quarter ponder from sizzles then you need to have a long hard think about yourself

07/03/2026: Had read many great reviews from this place went there last night very disappointed, fish was badly battered oily and overcooked the chips were cold and the atmosphere in the place was.... Matching the food. It cost 37 euro for two fish and chips and a burger,was very badly packed for a take away fish and chip shop .
