27/12/2024: Best chipper in Gorey by a long shot!! Consistently good chips and incredibly good chicken fillet burger. Very friendly staff too.

27/04/2025: If you’re in Ballycanew and you’re not getting your fish and chips from Sizzles, you seriously need to have a long, hard look at yourself. I’m convinced they’re frying with holy oil back there because no normal fryer could make food taste that good. The fish is so fresh, I half expect it to slap me and swim off the plate. The batter? Crispy enough to survive a hurricane. And don’t even get me started on the chips — proper chunky lads that could do serious damage if you threw one at someone (not that you’d waste them). The portions are so generous I needed a lie down and a support group afterwards. The staff are absolute legends too. Sizzles isn’t just the best chipper in Ballycanew, it might be the best thing to happen to County Wexford since the invention of the tractor. Five stars, ten if I could. Long live Sizzles.

19/04/2025: Went in for the first time for the Good Friday fish buffet yesterday. Kinda weird vibes to be honest, our server was very lovely and accommodating though. The manager was maybe stressed or something. Decor lovely and cosy. The food offered at the buffet was tasty and had variety and is a great idea, but we were not told that there was an ending to the buffet, which seemed like it was 7/7.30pm as no fresh food came out after that and the main hot dishes were mostly gone when we went up for our second plate. For €45 a plate you’d hope for a bit more value, even an included glass of wine/pint would have been a treat for the price. Had a nice time but at quite a large cost for 2 and we would have arrived earlier if we knew we’d only have time for 1 fresh plate.

01/04/2025: It wasn’t the usual good standard of food (my part of the order) as it tasted as if it had butter in the sauce! Not very nice I’m afraid! Please use your usual sweet sauce in it. Joe’s Chicken chop suey was nice he said. The rest of my order ie the chips and rice was lovely; just pity about the sweet n sour veggies!

07/03/2025: I cannot compliment this resturant enough from the food to the staff and service wow it was absolutely amazing youcon I think it's how you spell it one of the waitresses she was absolutely brilliant couldn't do enough for us. The food was amazing made the dishes to our liking spice wise honestly couldn't recommend this resturant enough

31/01/2025: Picked the restaurant using apps recommendation having never dined in Gorey before. Restaurant was empty when we arrived but quickly filled up and I can see why. Menu was excellent, food was as described we really enjoyed our rib eye cooked as ordered and my lamb was sublime. Staff were excellent, very friendly and efficient, could not say a negative word about our experience.

11/03/2025: Hi there, we visited recently and had three sausage rolls and 3 teas. I'm just wondering why the sausage rolls arrived tepid and not hot. Pastry soggy. I didn't question your staff on this because tbh, you're in the food service industry and should know better. They were a nice flavour but the experience was not good because they were not cooked properly. And , over €30 for 3 sausage rolls and 3 teas....expensive I think. I also noticed a woman having soup near us, my god the portion of soup was small, could you spare it...seriously you need to do better.

10/02/2025: Kelly's is by far our favourite cafe in Wexford, but the dirt of the glasses and the sugar bowls leaves a lot to be desired.

14/04/2025: Sorry guys but not the best experience on my first visit. On the plus side I loved the premises, lovely welcoming interior, nice options for seating. However I stood in the doorway where there was instruction to wait to be seated. At least 7 staff were floating about both inside and outside the main serving counter, all of whom looked at me directly and kept going about their business. Was waiting a while to be approached and seated. When I was addressed there was no pleasantries or chat, im not even sure i got a 'hello'. I had a hake special and found it to be just awful. The hake appeared folded or pressed into a shape, throughout it was black skin, so unappetising. There was a sauce topping it that I can't describe but it wasn't nice. Half the plate was carrots. It may have hust been an unfortunate choice of meal!! I barely touched the hake dinner. However, I ordered apple crumble, as I was hungry, without question it was gorgeous, and a lovely large portion. So that and the interior is my 2 stars. Service needs attention, I may try again another time but undecided.

08/04/2025: Lovely place to have lunch , staff are so nice and helpful. Food is really good and there is lots of parking . … toilets are clean and well maintained.

20/04/2025: We visited The Pantry today and found it to be a family-focused café with a casual and relaxed atmosphere. It seems like a suitable spot for those visiting with children. Unfortunately, the service was underwhelming. The staff member at the counter appeared disinterested and unapproachable. When we inquired about the breakfast options, we were simply told to sit down and read the menu, without any real effort to assist or engage. We also asked if it was possible to have a smaller cappuccino, but were met with a flat response: “only one size.” There was no offer of an alternative or flexibility. We ordered two breakfast dishes. The food was acceptable, but the quality did not justify the pricing.

23/01/2025: Wonderful eatery, with great portions.( What no black pudding!!)Coffee is served in proper mugs. Large choice on menu. Decor is interesting, plates on the walls,kind of olde world cross modernised.
