14/06/2025: I have to say I can’t think of one part of the experience that was less than 5 stars. The staff were kind and cheery. The food was superb. I started with the crispy black pepper calamari which was perfect and well seasoned. I find that if you get a bad calamari it can be rubbery but this was far from that. For my main course I had the salmon wellington which was really light and flavourful. The salmon was tender and well seasoned. The pastry was in no way soggy, it was crispy and light. The potatoes were thinly sliced and coated in a garlic sauce. It was accompanied by asparagus and carrot which was soft and cooked perfectly. For my desert I had the apple and berry crumble which was a crumble pie with mouth watering apple and berry inside on the side of the plate was a scoop of vanilla ice cream and berry compot. The overall experience was 5 stars and the food was 5 stars. Highly recommend

12/06/2025: Lovely hotel ..pity the beer garden is permanently closed as its a great looking place.staff are very friendly and room were comfy.small town but has everything you need.just bring comfortable shoes as you will have a lot of hills .

13/06/2025: If you want a decent breakfast, you will not beat Transport Cafe. In my opinion it's the best value breakfast in Ireland, don't be surprised to have to wait a few minutes for a table as it can be really busy around 10am. The staff are super friendly and the service is second to none. The restaurant is spotless. If you are in the Gorey/Arklow area give this restaurant a try, you won't be disappointed

14/05/2025: I popped into La Marine yesterday for a quick lunch before tackling a long walk on the beach (and that's another story..!). A very helpful waitress found me a table very quickly. I only wanted a light lunch so I had the Seafood Chowder. It was very tasty and came with some really nice brown bread and sourdough. Service was great, the Guinness was lovely and it was very good value.

21/02/2025: We had lunch in the restaurant after a fantastic morning in the spa. Couldn't fault the restaurant. The staff were so friendly and really engaging with the customers. They accommodated our food request. Several people checked on us throughout our meal which was lovely. Our orders arrived very promptly and the food was delicious. I couldn't fault it. So nice to visit a restaurant where the staff are so well trained and friendly.

09/06/2025: I asked to be taken to a traditional Irish pub, and that’s exactly where I was taken! Warm and welcoming atmosphere, will definitely be back.

30/05/2025: Returned to this establishment after a long time. It's a high-end gift shop, with items such as scarves,hats,jewellery, and other items I could go on. Well worth a perusal. It also sports a fantastic coffee dock, for want of a better description. Bye the bye their coffee is delicious. I had to close my eyes, passing the desserts and tempting sweet treats. Service was quick with plenty of seating on two levels.

17/05/2025: Very good atmosphere, food style similar to Avoca but with more Indian/Moroccan options.

12/05/2025: Coffee and food are still perfect 99% of the time, but it is so slow at peak times. There really should be two queues. Car space (which is now at a premium with the double yellow lines) is being taken up outside for longer than necessary.

24/04/2025: Nothing exciting - typical coffee cafe. Not outrageous but priced at higher end for average offerings & quality.

17/06/2025: I rated it one star because it is not possible to rate it with zero. We bought 4 coxinha snacks and 1 soda and after paying we saw a sign in the corner saying that there was a combo with soda where we would be entitled to at least 2 more cans. The attendant refused to give us even 1 can, terrible service, especially since it would be his job to offer the combo... that would be the least we could expect. But they couldn't even provide the minimum level of service... ridiculous! Besides, the products are very expensive!

28/05/2025: My wife and I stopped in here on our way home. We were served by a lovely young man who was full of knowledge of the local area for walks. We both had the stake sandwich, and I have to say 10 out of 10, we'll definitely be back. Well recommended

01/06/2025: A well run establishment premises are lovely and full of interesting history artifacts staff very friendly and seem to be very good with children food was beautiful and the fish qouted by my husband "was the best fish he has had all year ' and he eats fish every where he goes so that is a major compliment and the menu was reasonably priced well done to all the staff and we wish you a lifetime of sucsefull in businesses and we look forward to returning soon.

07/06/2025: We had our wedding at Newbay earlier this year. Maria,Tracie, Rachel, Paul and the team were incredible, nothing was too much trouble and our wedding day was absolutely perfect. The food was fantastic, the house and grounds looked stunning, the bridal suite and guest rooms were beautiful and everybody working at Newbay on the day were so helpful. Tracie and Rachel were fantastic, they were both so kind and helpful - always checking in the make sure everyone and everything was ok. Paul was brilliant and really helpful at our food tasting. He had no problem making arrangements for our guests with food allergies and the wedding breakfast was absolutely delicious. Maria was a dream! The day ran so smoothly and nothing was ever a problem. Maria was always on hand to answer our questions in the lead up to the day and ensured we felt relaxed. From our first visit to Newbay she was fantastic. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience (Maria promised us good weather and she even delivered on that despite the yellow weather warnings!) Our wedding day was better than we could have imagined and we can’t recommend Maria and her team highly enough.

05/06/2025: We had an amazing private family reunion at Newbay House, not their usual type of event, but due to my wife’s connection to the house they made an exception. The owners and staff have gone out of their way to retain the history and legacy of the house, while modernizing it in all the right places. The house and grounds are incredibly beautiful and historic! The staff are also the best people in the world, they made our get together a complete success and looked after us like family. Special thanks to Maria for going out of her way for us. If you’re thinking of Newbay House for a wedding or event, don’t hesitate, it will be a memory you’ll always cherish.

16/04/2025: Staying over the road in an air b&b,we popped in after a wake and where mad very welcome GY61 the staff, lovely people and the best Guinness ever, going back today for more. Cheers.
