28/10/2025: Omg the take away is getting worse. Waited nearly 2 hours on the order and then the wrong order came. I rang down and had to tell the lady working about 10 times what was missing from the order she hadnt a clue what i was saying...... absolute joke. Really gone downhill as a business......

28/10/2025: Chicken and chip shouldn't be to hard for The Penguin, a place famous for its chips! After the 2 people in front of me complained about quality and standards, I started to get nervous. I asked "how long will it be?" and was told 10 minutes 45 minutes later I was handed my undercooked and greasy meal. I managed most of the chips as I was starving but honestly couldn't bring myself to eat the chicken. And I'm glad I trusted my instinct there because neither of the (stray) cats would touch it either. So disappointed. "The Penquin" use to mean something.

12/01/2026: Edit: have never had an issue til this eve. Facebook, website, your app, all showing that use are open. Ive rang and rang and cant get through to anyone. Closed/open i dont actually know, need to be updating your app/google with correct opening.But could I have my 30 quid back please! 🙏🏻 We always get it delivered and I can't fault the place. Food is always lovely and delivered on time. Spice bag is my favourite.

18/10/2025: Me and friend ordered a 10 euro spicebag. To our surprise, it arrived in a very shallow Styrofoam rectangle. This surprised us, as we're usually used to a bag filled with chicken, chips, onion, and peppers. We then opened the box and to our displeasure we found 8 pieces of tiny shredded chicken and chips that tasted like they've been sat out for weeks and soaked in old oil.

18/11/2025: Worse fish I ever had. The chips were freezer chips and cold. Kebab ridiculous size. Too big and messy

21/08/2025: The restaurant was closed at 10:10 p.m. and the internet says it's open until 11 p.m.

03/10/2025: Absolutely shocking service. Waiting an hour in the place for a takeaway with 4 appetisers and a main. Left because still didn't receive food after an hour wait

02/08/2025: Worst Chinese in Ireland.Gone downhill big time, food used to be nice but often not hot enough especially the fried rice and often the spring rolls. Two years laterafter starting this review and the food is worse again, portion sizes have deminished , I was given a main course Satay Chicken instead of a starter portion, you would think that was a good thing but the chicken was big rubbery pre-boiled pieces with no taste and the sauce was terrible, the beef curry was equaly as tasteless, fried rice was barley warm and over cooked, again with big slices of tough pre-boiled beef. China park insults the people of Bunclody by serving this muck, chinese food is one of my favourites, but this place makes a mockery of the cuisine, the "chef" should hang his head in shame, never again will I go here after being a client of 20 years.

04/04/2025: Avoid this place altogether . I placed an order online from their own website using OrderYOYO. The money was taken out of my account only to then find out that the restaurant is temporarily closed, despite their website saying otherwise. All calls to the restaurant went unanswered. No refund given

14/03/2025: AVOID AVOID AVOID! Ordered online, money was taken immediately, but no food arrived. Drove into town to see that they were closed, despite their website, socials & Google Business Profile saying they're open. Tried multiple times to get in contact but have been ignored, despite them viewing my messages. Terrible service, feel like I've been scammed.

30/12/2025: Absolutely terrible service from the staff in here. Lady if you’d even call her that was so ignorant a group of young ladies came in for some food told to get out to eat our food in the cold even though they weren’t busy we weren’t allowed sit down. Threatened to ring the gaurds on us. For the price we paid for our food portions were scandalously small. Never eaten here again!!!

07/12/2025: First time we went food was pretty good but nothing special, service was very good... However, we went again and my food was so sweet it was inedible and did not taste fresh.. Very overpriced for what you get... I've eaten in dozens of Chinese restaurants all over the world and this is just not very good.. 2 egg rolls are €8 and Tiny.. I had a sweet chicken and it was €22..a real shame as the place has a lot of potential but they don't really seem to make any effort.. Sorry guys..

27/07/2025: The place was sneaky good! Our experience was perfect and it was some of the best Asian food we have had! The server came out a couple times to ensure all was good. Would come back again! - visiting from Canada

12/01/2026: Golden Dragon, Kilmuckridge The woman behind the counter showed appalling customer service. As a regular trying to pay by card for a munch box, I was rudely told there’s a €15 minimum and it’s cash only — “you should know this by now.” On another occasion, after being charged extra for sauce, I had to walk back to my car in pouring rain. When I returned soaking wet, she had the nerve to laugh at me. This behaviour is humiliating, disrespectful, and completely unacceptable. After seeing numerous bad reviews, I’m shocked this place is still allowed to operate. I will never set foot here again.

28/12/2025: Great local Chinese takeaway. Lovely food and friendly staff. Delivery is fast and Excellent value. Highly recommend.

24/04/2025: Got chips and a battered sausage on the way home from work. Have to say they are the worst chips I've ever had. Absolutely burnt and tastes like they were reheated.they were also not fresh chips definitely frozen one. Also the battered sausage was not much better. Batter was not crispy at all. Again like it was reheated in the microwave. Would not recommend this place

15/02/2026: We came here on a Sunday afternoon around 3.30pm, it was busy at this time as there was two matches on just down the road so we acknowledged we would be waiting, however one older male staff member decided to disappear into the back and left the other young lad deal with the que on his own. We could hear the just eat machine going off so presumably he went back to make the order leaving my friend waiting even longer. There was no meatballs or chicken tikka when he went to order so he went to burger king instead. As we were eating a woman came in to collect her food she had ordered from JustEat and it hadn't even been started never mind ready. so clearly the older gentlemen couldn't be arsed to help his coworker and was skiving off in the back.To top it all off the lettuce was limp and rotten. This is not the first occasion that we've experienced similar at this subway and definitely will not be back.

06/02/2026: My fiancée went into this place yesterday, and the complete and utter disgust I experienced is out of this world, extremely rude service, staff thought we were poor. Therefore refused to give a side of sauce (which usually they give without having to pay), until we paid the extra cost of the sauce. The food was horrible, poorly made and the service was disgusting. I have not ever heard or seen of anybody rolling their eyes and sighing so much, let alone, over a tiny bit of sauce and a small bit of tomato. I’m honestly so pissed off at these people. Please review cctv from 05/02/2026, approximately 1:00-1:30pm, and I expect to have at least one of those staff members gone. I refuse to ever dine here, and will make sure to never ever recommend. Do. Not. Go.

08/03/2026: While I’m not usually a particularly picky or overly critical person, I was genuinely shocked by the condition of this establishment. The overall lack of hygiene was very concerning. The tables and floor were visibly dirty, to the point that it felt like a potential health and safety hazard. To be fair, the staff themselves appeared clean and were using gloves, which I appreciated. However, the unpleasant smell, sticky air, and the general lack of cleanliness throughout the place made the environment very uncomfortable. Unfortunately, it completely ruined my appetite. Basic hygiene standards should never be compromised in a place that serves food, and in its current state, this is simply not acceptable.

07/12/2025: He said “€6.80 cash or card” and I tapped my card, checked my revolut and it was €9.15. I ordered the 6 inch sub which came which was really only 4 inches. Staff are like talking to people with grey clouds over their head
