26/07/2026: Ordered today: My husband had the chicken curry and he said it was “okay”. I ordered Lemon chicken and am I sorry. The chicken was bathed in a sauce that was a dishwater colour with bits of pineapple in it. The chicken itself seemed ok but the sauce actually tasted like soapy water. I haven’t left the bathroom and I only ate the smallest bit. The fried rice seemed okay but again once some sauce was put on it tasted sticky and sickly. Will never order from here again.

19/04/2026: Food was decent and delivered within a reasonable time but the 2 times I have ordered from them, I have been abused down the phone by their delivery drivers claiming I have given an address and when they arrived both times, I was able to point out on the order sheet they had where the address was. No apologies, nothing! Will never order again as a result of this

05/04/2026: I've visited a few times while in Killorglin. Always hoping to get a clearer read on this place, I still haven't managed it. The staff here are genuinely lovely and always pleasant to deal with. No complaints there whatsoever. Portion sizes are also seriously impressive, the price is on the slightly higher side, but the amount of food you get does reflect that, so fair enough. The problem is the food itself and how unpredictable it seems to be. Every visit feels like a dice roll. The food can be delicious, mediocre, or sometimes just simply inedible. There's no pattern to it that I can identify, which makes it hard to recommend with any confidence. My suspicion is an ingredient substitution issue. When they run out of their usual stock, they seem to swap to noticeably cheaper or lower quality alternatives. The chips are a good example, they have a go-to frozen chip that's actually quite good. But when that runs out, whatever replaces it is obviously a large step down. The same issue crops up elsewhere in chicken dishes too. Could be the product, or could be the freshness. Even the sauces can taste totally different each visit, again not sure if its a substitution issue or just how long what they're serving has been sitting out for. It's perhaps understandable for a small family run restaurant managing costs, but it directly affects the dining experience in a way that's hard to ignore. I'd be much more likely to come to spend more money here if they were willing to spend more money ensuring they're consistent with the quality of the ingredients they use. There's a genuinely good restaurant in here somewhere, but until the consistency improves, I can't give it more than 3 stars total.

12/07/2026: The only place I've been to in Ireland with something approaching American-style orange chicken, which I was severely missing. Price and portion size is good, location is extremely convenient if you're taking the Dart in and out of Dun Laoghaire.

30/06/2026: Staff extremely friendly, food tastes great especially their honey chicken and spice bag! Generous portions and fair pricing. Would recommend this takeaway!

23/04/2026: We visited as a group of three while traveling around Ireland, and this was easily one of the best meals we had on our trip. The shop was incredibly clean and had a great atmosphere. Every dish we ordered tasted fantastic. I'd highly recommend the food here! A special shout-out to Patrick, who went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Excellent food and even better service

06/04/2026: They can't take orders properly & overcharged me, and my order was not as requested (asked for spicy and they gave me normal instead). The food was bland and more greasy than usual. Also they didn't call out the order to confirm it when ordering, for some reason. Terrible customer service.

26/07/2026: Sweet and sour chicken is like rubber.I complained and was told I had eaten it which I had not.Bad customer service and rude staff.No compensation for the bad food given .Asked to see the manager and was told none available.It’s beyond belief the service they give here.

23/07/2026: Walked in on a Thursday night place was dead. That should have been the first sign. Anyway , ordered a chicken satay and there was a long black hair WRAPPED around the chicken,and the worker came over and started looking on the FLOOR for the hair as if we lied about it. None of us ate our food after that. Also ordered shredded chicken and it wasn’t dry as advertised it was drenched in a red spicy sauce and it had cashew nuts all over it and one of the girls had a nut allergy. Didn’t get charged for the set meal that had the hair but was charged for the chip and coke that was ordered with it. Absolute disgrace. No wonder it was empty. Never again . Avoid unless you want hairy curry.

07/07/2026: Had a gorgeous family Saturday lunch here and the food was excellent and decent prices. Staff were friendly. Love lotus house. Will definitely return.

26/07/2026: Had a takeaway. Chicken in the Sweet and Sour Hong Kong style was stringy and gelatinous.not nice. The Fillet of Beef in Black Bean sauce was leathery and tough. Chicken balls were fine. I cannot understand how anyone can stand over this quality. Never again.

30/03/2026: Poor quality stringy chicken and the spice bags seasoning is just salt and brown sugar from what I can tell. Not a single good Chinese in Clane unfortunately.

28/07/2026: I mentioned that the price of the rice wasn't explained beforehand and that the dishes were extremely unpalatable. The restaurant showed no remorse or apology whatsoever; instead, they desperately tried to justify themselves. So please, everyone, don't go there unless you want to be abused and subjected to inhumane treatment.

17/05/2026: The food was really good. Unfortunately, the whole restaurant smelled of smoke whenever someone ordered the charcoal grill. In the end, our clothes smelled of smoke too, even though the table where the food was being grilled was at the other end of the restaurant.

16/04/2026: Ordered curry chips and chicken curry roll, food was simply disgusting, chips must’ve been counted into the tray as it was easily 25% empty and I’ve never seen less curry sauce in an order (not even enough to cover the scantly few chips). The curry was clumpy, far too thick, and completely tasteless. The chicken curry rolls were burnt and chewy.

17/03/2026: Payed €9.50 for a spice bag today, brought it home just to realise the bag is literally half filled, was still left hungry after i ate it. Expensive enough for one spice bag as it is, but the fact it was only half full is kinda taking the piss. I’ll give them 3 stars because the food was nice, and it was St. Patrick’s day so they were probably up to their eyeballs in stress

16/05/2026: Dreadful experience, satay skewers were so tough we couldn't eat them and the green chicken curry was in a thick gloopy sauce .

28/02/2026: Order for take away, available for collection promptly, staff on arrival were lovely, friendly and efficient. Food was delicious, very reasonably priced and generous amount of food for adults and kids meals. Everyone was very happy with the meal!

30/05/2026: The food just gets more expensive especially spice bags from 8 euro to 10.50 and the chicken is very rubbery fix the chicken for your spice bags it takes me about 2 minutes to chew a piece of chicken chips are good though and they need to make it cheaper

14/06/2026: Been to many restaurants in Ireland both Asian and Chinese, I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic Asian food experience , literally the smallest portions I have ever seen here in Ireland as per the price itself, not even close to what we were expecting. Overall : Too expensive for its value and taste, a westernized rip off -Asian restaurant as it is.
