08/08/2026: Amazing food. The rice was nice and fluffy

27/07/2026: Staff in the restaurant are rude and want you to leave as quick as you arrive. I asked where the fish were gone as they weren’t in the tank and the lady snapped that I wasn’t allowed to sit beside the tank even though I wasn’t asking that. They took my daughter’s food away while she was eating it. Egg fried rice was just overcooked rice and egg mixed together. Horrible. My daughter stood up and a staff member came over to tell her to sit back down. This was a Monday night in Lucan so not exactly busy. We won’t be returning. There is nothing welcoming about this place. It’s like being an unwanted guest in someone’s house who is paranoid you’ll steal the cutlery so they clear it while you’re still using it and make you want to leave asap.

05/09/2026: Have ordered from here in the past and always excellent, however on past 2 occasions the food has been very very poor. Phoned, messaged on Instagram, emailed about my complaint and no response!! It's like they couldn't care less! Food on last 2 occasions of us ordering has been extremely poor. Chicken dry, in fact the spice bag was worst I've ever had. Very very disappointing!

05/04/2026: I've visited a few times while in Killorglin. Always hoping to get a clearer read on this place, I still haven't managed it. The staff here are genuinely lovely and always pleasant to deal with. No complaints there whatsoever. Portion sizes are also seriously impressive, the price is on the slightly higher side, but the amount of food you get does reflect that, so fair enough. The problem is the food itself and how unpredictable it seems to be. Every visit feels like a dice roll. The food can be delicious, mediocre, or sometimes just simply inedible. There's no pattern to it that I can identify, which makes it hard to recommend with any confidence. My suspicion is an ingredient substitution issue. When they run out of their usual stock, they seem to swap to noticeably cheaper or lower quality alternatives. The chips are a good example, they have a go-to frozen chip that's actually quite good. But when that runs out, whatever replaces it is obviously a large step down. The same issue crops up elsewhere in chicken dishes too. Could be the product, or could be the freshness. Even the sauces can taste totally different each visit, again not sure if its a substitution issue or just how long what they're serving has been sitting out for. It's perhaps understandable for a small family run restaurant managing costs, but it directly affects the dining experience in a way that's hard to ignore. I'd be much more likely to come to spend more money here if they were willing to spend more money ensuring they're consistent with the quality of the ingredients they use. There's a genuinely good restaurant in here somewhere, but until the consistency improves, I can't give it more than 3 stars total.

16/04/2026: Ordered curry chips and chicken curry roll, food was simply disgusting, chips must’ve been counted into the tray as it was easily 25% empty and I’ve never seen less curry sauce in an order (not even enough to cover the scantly few chips). The curry was clumpy, far too thick, and completely tasteless. The chicken curry rolls were burnt and chewy.

17/03/2026: Payed €9.50 for a spice bag today, brought it home just to realise the bag is literally half filled, was still left hungry after i ate it. Expensive enough for one spice bag as it is, but the fact it was only half full is kinda taking the piss. I’ll give them 3 stars because the food was nice, and it was St. Patrick’s day so they were probably up to their eyeballs in stress

12/08/2026: Hate to say as they were always my go to Chinese restaurant but they’ve gone downhill a lot. There was little to no seasoning in most of the food especially the chicken balls, maybe they forgot due to being busy but not great when spending money as a treat. Also bland sweet and sour. They forgot to deliver the curry too. The delivery fee has also jumped from €9.50 to €13.50

11/08/2026: I had a Saturday evening meal there with the family, and it was wonderful. They had the best food I have ever tasted.

19/09/2026: I ordered two completely different chicken dishes from this takeaway, and the chicken in both of them was old and spoiled. As soon as I bit into it, the meat had a foul, rotten smell and a terrible sour taste. It was clearly old meat that had gone off. Serving rotten chicken to customers is extremely dangerous and a severe health risk. I will not be ordering from here again, and I strongly advise others to avoid it for their own health and safety.

06/09/2026: Ordered a 4in1 and spicebag yesterday , the 4in1 was lovely however the spicebag was very dry and the chicken did not taste like chicken. Super chewey and very dry. Almost impossible to eat. Very disappointed as usually I am a big fan of the food however this time I had to throw it away.

28/08/2026: Delicious Chinese food, it’s a restaurant as well as a takeaway. Jade also provides food to the local pub the orchard which is below the jade restaurant. Their app is very good, and give a very accurate approximation when the food will be ready for collection

09/08/2026: Thought we’d give this place a try after receiving a menu through the letterbox. In hindsight, the menu should probably have stayed in the letterbox. We ordered black bean crispy chicken and egg fried rice as the mains, along with a few starters. And this is where the regrets began… and continued… and, frankly, multiplied. The chicken balls were undercooked, with batter that appeared to have been filled with water rather than cooked properly. The prawn toast was less “prawn toast” and more “toast that had once heard rumours about prawns”. The black bean sauce was strangely chewy — not a quality normally associated with sauce. The crispy chicken was suspiciously un-chicken-like in both appearance and flavour. At this stage, questions were being asked and trust was rapidly disappearing. Then came the egg fried rice — delivered in what can only be described as a compact rubber brick. It looked more boiled than fried and had the consistency of something that had been dropped from a height and then reassembled. By the end of the meal, we were no longer eating dinner — we were conducting a culinary investigation. Without question, the worst Chinese takeaway experience we’ve ever had. What started as “let’s give the new place a try” quickly became “why on earth did we do that?” Hopefully this review saves someone else from making the same mistake. Avoid. Avoid. AVOID. Your stomach, your taste buds and your future self will thank you.

19/04/2026: Food was decent and delivered within a reasonable time but the 2 times I have ordered from them, I have been abused down the phone by their delivery drivers claiming I have given an address and when they arrived both times, I was able to point out on the order sheet they had where the address was. No apologies, nothing! Will never order again as a result of this

26/09/2026: i have been coming here regularly, usually every week or two, and i have always had a good experience. i normally come with a friend, who places our usual order, so I am familiar with the dish we like but not with all the specific options on the menu. this time i came by myself and ordered the same dish as usual. when the staff member asked me “plain chicken?”, i said yes, assuming she meant regular chicken without anything spicy or heavily seasoned. she never asked me which type of chicken i wanted, or explained that “plain chicken” referred to a specific preparation. well, i got the food and realised that it was diced chicken rather than the crispy shredded chicken I normally have. i accept that i should have checked the menu and clarified exactly what i wanted, and i was happy to acknowledge that. so, i went back politely and asked whether it would be possible to change it. i apologised for the misunderstanding and even offered to pay extra for the replacement. i wasnr asking for something unreasonable or demanding that they remake it for free. but what really disappointed me was the way i was treated when i tried to resolve the issue. the woman became visibly annoyed and spoke to me in a very rude and dismissive manner. even after i repeatedly apologised and explained that I now understood what “plain chicken” meant, she continued bringing up the fact that the misunderstanding was my fault. i never raised my voice, was never rude or disrespectful, and was simply trying to find a solution. i completely understand that misunderstandings happen and that i could have communicated my order more clearly. however, mistakes happen on both sides, and I don’t think a customer should be made to feel embarrassed or humiliated after politely acknowledging their mistake and trying to resolve it. i am particularly disappointed because I have been a regular customer and have always been polite and respectful to the staff. I hope the management can take this feedback on board, because the food itself was not the main issue for me.

14/07/2026: We’re visiting from abroad and were looking for a late night option that was still open. We found this gem and were able to dine in at 9:45pm. The server was lovely and very warm and welcoming. Food was delicious and very well seasoned. We ordered the mixed vegetable soup, chicken malay satay w/ egg fried rice, and beef chow mein. Would 100% recommend!
