07/02/2025: Mi esposa hija y yo fuimos allí el domingo pasado y estábamos muy ansiosos por ello. Lamentablemente, no salió nada bien. El Maitre D nos mostró a la primera mesa (más cerca de la puerta principal) en el restaurante. Inmediatamente, mi esposa dijo que hay una corriente horrible aquí, cada vez que la puerta se abre (regularmente con los repartidores). Así que llamé a la Maitre D y le pregunté si podíamos mover mesas, pero ella dijo que no tenía ninguna disponible, pero podíamos ver dos mesas libres más abajo en el restaurante. Luego lo comprobé y para añadir insultos a las lesiones, el calentador detrás de nuestra mesa estaba frío como piedra. Así que la devolví la llamada y le pregunté por qué no estaba encendida; todo lo que dijo fue "¿quieres darme tu orden ahora". . . . . . . . . . ! Me quedé atónita ante su falta de profesionalidad o empatía, somos los clientes. Así que lo discutimos y decidimos irnos. Al igual que nosotros, ella ni siquiera se disculpó o trató de detenernos, ella solo dijo en la parte superior de su voz, "que otros clientes en el restaurante eran muy cálidos". Qué mal trabajo.

18/01/2025: A bit pricier than your average Chinese restaurant, but it’s not your average Chinese restaurant! Very swanky interior, extremely professional and attentive service, and delicious food. Seafood is particularly fresh and delicious. And have as many of the dumplings as you can handle, they are very good. Top tip, ask for only the brown prawn crackers, and get some chilli oil to have with them.

20/01/2025: Recomiendo encarecidamente esta joya oculta. Hay una razón por la que el oro está en su nombre. Elegimos un clásico de patatas fritas y fideos y patatas fritas frim el menú encantador y no nos decepcionaron! Buen almuerzo confiable a un gran precio ¡Yuhummmmmmm!

31/01/2025: Avoid. We have been regular customers of Shangri La for years! The entire family have been loyal customers and regularly order at least once per month. Called to request a refund for 2 items for the first time ever, as they were not the quality we are usually used to. The result was a denial of any form of refund or voucher for the food. Super disappointed to be turned upon like this by a restaurant we used to love so much.

25/01/2025: Haven’t been here in years so thought I would give it another try hoping things had changed, boy was I disappointed. Ordered fried rice with my main but there was so much white pepper in it the rice was a grey colour and I couldn’t eat much of it. Also ordered spicy crispy chicken, there was no seasoning at all on the chicken it just tasted of frozen crispy chicken and most of it was tiny pieces of rock hard chicken and this too was covered in so much white pepper it really was disgusting. Three mains and a starter cost nearly fifty euros.

14/02/2025: Terrible Service – Avoid! Ordered food at 19:50, and it never arrived. Called the restaurant four times, and each time, I was told the driver was “on the way.” Now it’s 22:45, and still no food. To make things worse, they haven’t even refunded my money. Absolutely unacceptable service. Avoid this place unless you enjoy waiting hours for nothing.

11/03/2025: Great service. Lovely decor. But the food didn't stand out at all. We have tried a number of similar places in Bray and we were highly satisfied. This was our attempt to try something new. But we will not visit again.

02/01/2025: When I tried the curry sauce and spicy bag of this restaurant, I couldn't forget the super box. I had to eat it every day, and the chef always smiled at the customers! Spicy bags are highly recommended.

03/01/2025: We got four main course this evening, The two chicken curry's were lovely. Unfortunately the fried rice was not good. Noodles were nice. The two beef dishes were very bad beef was hard tough, and little sauce with no taste and mushroom were not fresh. Not acceptable at all. Very unhappy and won't be ordering off ye again.

09/12/2024: The food is great if you get everything you order. When I get everything that I ordered it is 5 stars but recently they have begun to forget part of the order. I was missing a sweet and sour sauce last Saturday and over the last while I've been left short chips, rice and even an entire main

02/03/2025: Ordered a delivery 25 euros . When order came the soy sauce was broken and all over what we ordered. The plastic bag had a pool of soy sauce in the end. Which totally desolved the paper bag the food was in. Rang back and explained the situation after 25 Min on the phone I finally got told the driver will be back and i will be refunded. I gave the driver the disgracefull bag with the soggy spoiled food in it he appologised. Looked inside and just laughed saying he just delivers the food again sorry. Also showed him pictures of the food as I took it out of the bag . Rang back 20 min after driver left was told they Are not going to refund me and they cant re send can my order .So LITTERALY paid 25 euro for absolutely nothing also was abused by the chef who they put on the phone for what ever reason . He kept saying I should ring the gardai. Seriously what food establishment works like this never experienced anything as degrading and horrible. Why they put him on the phone I will never know. Absolute joke and a horrible experience for me and my daughter. Eat anywhere else please if you are reading the review

23/11/2024: I had a disappointing experience with Ashford Oriental Chinese Takeaway that I feel compelled to share. I ordered Chinese food through Just Eat, expecting a delivery time of 30- max 45 minutes. After waiting for over one hour, I called to check on my order, only to be met with a dismissive response from the staff member who answered the phone saying 'it'll be there when it's there kind of thing'. It felt like they didn't care about my situation, and I was left feeling frustrated and hungry. One of the main reasons i chose this place over others was due to the delivery time advertised. 15 more minutes go by, so at this point we're at 1 hour and 15 minutes... When the food finally arrived—over an hour and 15 minutes later—the delivery woman gave off a very rude and unpleasant demeanour. She was seemed visibly annoyed, unfriendly and kind of flung the delivery at me without saying a thing. There was no apology for the delay, which would have been a simple courtesy. Instead, glared at me in a very unfriendly and rude way, as if my inquiry (when i rang the restaurant checking on the order at the 1 hour mark) had upset her. This lack of basic customer service is unacceptable. I understand that things can get busy, but waiting this long for a takeaway is not justifiable, especially when the restaurant sets specific delivery expectations. Takeaways are not cheap, you get it as a treat for something quick and easy. Unless you're me and have to wait an hour and nearly 20 mins and get very rude treatment and no customer service along with a hefty bill. This was a horrible experience. I will not be ordering from here again and would advise others to consider their options carefully.

07/08/2024: Have never had a bad takeaway from here. Food is always consistent and the portion sizes are generous. Manager/owner is a very pleasant lady.
