Castle View Chinese
Macroom
26/07/2026: Very friendly staff and excellent service throughout our visit.
The portion sizes were generous, and after trying a few other Chinese restaurants recently that hadn't quite lived up to our expectations, this was a pleasant surprise. The food arrived very quickly, was fresh, and the quality was excellent.
We ordered the chicken curry, prawn toast, and chicken satay, and every dish was delicious. The curry was packed with chicken, which was great to see.
The only minor downsides were that the toilets could have been cleaner and the restaurant lacked a bit of atmosphere. That said, the warm and welcoming staff more than made up for it. We'd happily return.
14/07/2026: Very Expensive and below average!
€13.30 for chicken balls on their own is scandalous.
4 in 1 not even filled to the top and mostly rice!
Disappointing
Avoid!

China Dragon
Fermoy
24/03/2026: The worst Chinese I’ve ever had in my life. Lack of flavour, chicken was rubbery, sauces tasted burned and almost like plastic, very oily. I felt terrible after, nothing was fresh. My whole family didn’t enjoy it.

Victoria Garden
Johnstown
22/08/2026: Great place to sit down and eat, food is great and staff are very helpful.
21/08/2026: I had a fantastic time dining here! One of the highlights for me was that they serve Tiger draught — cold, crisp, and the perfect complement to the meal.
The food was absolutely delicious — fresh ingredients, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried exceeded expectations.
The service was equally impressive. The staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely made us feel welcome when we arrived.
Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food, great drinks, and a great atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back!

Excellent Chinese
Dublin
01/08/2026: Look if you want to experience the best "Spice Bag" its here no where else as is Chicken Chow Mein, oh and of course Honey Ribs. Nothing on the menu will disappoint you. The staff behind the counter are amazing too and the work rate is staggering and the kitchen is so clean. 👌 I dont do photos of my food it wrecks my head when I see people do that so I've added a photo of Trigger without his brush.
27/07/2026: Order: Chicken chop suey, fried noodles, no celery.
For €12.50, this was a pretty underwhelming meal. It filled the stomach... just about. Unfortunately, that's the most positive thing I can say.
Taste:
Very average. Nothing stood out in a good way and it was noticeably over-salted. Not terrible, I've experienced worse, but definitely not something you'd look forward to eating again.
Portion:
Average. It was just enough to satisfy my hunger, but only barely.
Packaging:
Disappointing. The food came in two containers inside a plain brown paper bag. No napkins, no fork, no chopsticks. It's a small detail, but it makes the whole experience feel cheap and unfinished.
Final thoughts:
If you're hungry, you'll eat it. If you're hoping to actually enjoy your meal, you'll probably be disappointed. There are much better Chinese takeaways around for the same money.
Would I order from Jumbo Wok again? No.

11/07/2026: Very well ran Chinese. Alice the manager is the best manager you will come across.
We got a takeaway tonight and we're over charged by €20 never said anything but 1 hour later she called us back and informed that we were over charged and that she will get a delivery driver to drop it back to us.
Not many places will own up to that and offer your money back.
On another note the food is A1 always very tasty.
02/05/2026: the best place to get food poisoning.

Kim Thanh Chinese Takeaway
Bundoran
06/07/2026: We have been regular customers here for years, so this was an incredibly disappointing experience.
On Saturday night, my partner ordered a Chinese takeaway and was told there would be a 40-minute wait. That was absolutely fine with us. We went into The Phoenix for a couple of drinks while we waited.
After around 45 minutes, I went in to collect the order, only to be told it hadn't even been started. I asked why we had been told 40 minutes if the order wasn't even on yet. Instead of an apology or even an explanation, I was immediately met with aggression.
The lady serving repeatedly told me I was being rude. I asked her what I had actually said that was rude, but she couldn't answer. She just kept repeating that I was being rude, told me to "look how busy we are," and then said, "Cancel it if you want." So I did.
The delay wasn't the issue. We completely understand that places get busy. A simple "I'm sorry, we're running behind" would have been enough. What wasn't acceptable was being made to feel like I had done something wrong simply for asking a reasonable question.
This seems to be happening far too often nowadays, where customers are made to feel like they're the problem for raising a concern. That's not good customer service—it's dismissive and, in my opinion, a form of gaslighting. Rather than acknowledging the situation, I was made to question my own behaviour when all I had done was ask why our order wasn't ready.
When my partner later spoke to Kim to explain what had happened, he was told that I was "consumed." That was equally disappointing. Instead of listening to a loyal customer, the situation was brushed aside.
After years of supporting this business, we won't be back. Delays happen—we all understand that. But there is never an excuse for treating customers with hostility and then making them feel they're at fault for asking a simple, reasonable question. Bring Back Tracey!!
08/04/2026: Incredible food, Highly recommended
