Great choice of lunch items, hot and cold. Great personable staff. Comfortable and laidback vibe. Parking outside the door. Might move to 5 ⭐ on my next visit when I've had the chance to sample more than a tasty, toasted sandwich and checked out the toilet facilities.

28/07/2025: Came to Cork to watch Michael McIntyre @ The Marquee. There was a food hall called The Black Market near the venue so we went there. We needed either vegetarian or a halal food. There was a smash burger place which we really wanted to try but there were no burgers left, the burger stall directed us to Dips.
We were not disappointed. We ordered a Korean chicken dish, 2 x Malaysian chicken noodles and a beef curry. The food was fantastic. Good portion sizes and was very tasty.
The service was fantastic.
Good variety of dishes to choose from. A touch expensive but feel Cork is an expensive place.
Highly recommend.
15/07/2025: The Massaman curry was very good and I did expect that considering the crew are from Malaysia. Other items are good as well and the seafood seemed fresh.
One thing I did not like is the serving bowls, it is quite hard to eat from it. Hope they can change it to something tried and tested.
Overall would recommend for east Asian food in the black market.

15/10/2025: Do not go here for breakfast. Can't vouch for the evenings here or the pints. The breakfast was shocking, unfortunately one of the few places open on Sunday morning. Do yourself a favour & go Tara's instead. Everything was under or over cooked, asked for some tomatoes instead of mushrooms. They brought me a cold sliced bit of tomato. Service poor, didn't clear our table. Pumping the diddly at 10:30am, come on. The worst cup of tea I've ever been served in Ireland
13/10/2025: Staff were excellent. Bacon and cabbage was top notch. Never waiting for a pint. Beamish was exceptional. Bravo

20/07/2025: I ordered the "kebab box" from this establishment and got a small box mostly filled with chips. I returned to the shop to tell them I didn't order chips and that chips were not in the description of the "kebab box" only to be told that of course chips are included in the kebab box. Doesn't seem logical to me, would avoid.
24/05/2025: The pepperoni pizza was of really good quality. As the pizza sauce had a nice, smoky flavour, which I liked. They weren't mean with the toppings, as there was plenty of cheese and pepperoni on my 10 inch pizza. The pizza was delivered on time and the two ladies delivering also were really kind, as they were smiling, which means that they have good service. I gave 0 starts for the atmosphere, as I got delivery and I haven't actually been to the restaurant, which will be unfair to rate it, so I just left it at 0 stars.

12/10/2025: Always served with a smile, fair enough the prices of sweet treats are expensive but majority of people are not going to get one every day. It’s only €2 for a tea (not a coffee drinker). But try the waffle it’s unreal.
09/10/2025: The baguette is no longer fresh and is as good as a ready bake baguette from Lidl. 2.8€ !!!Thats robbery.The pastries are also not fresh and are put in boxes each night to be reused. Too expensive for what you get….
Staff are very nice, that’s the only good thing…

The Sandwich Stall

15/09/2025: After leaving west cork early this morning and in need of a light snack 😋 I had a spiced beef sandwich on gloriously fresh bread. The native Barry's Tea to accompany my sandwich. Lovely little seats at the stall so ate and watched the world go by. Absolutely delicious food and a huge selection on display. I highly recommend. It's located within the historic English market which was rather busy so it was good to see that too.
28/08/2025: Lovely open air deli sandwich stall, seating included on the end comfortable cozy bar stools and foot rest. Wonderful staff caring attentive to orders and all ways ask how you’re doing. Would definitely come back again and again. Best sandwich’s in town 🥪🫶🏼

24/07/2025: Very good coffee is drunk here with some very good snacks, although everything is very good, breakfast, lunch and snacks, the competition is very fierce here in the city of Cork in relation to cafes and snack bars. A few years ago, you didn't see a cafe, so to speak!!! Now they are everywhere. What I mean is that this cafe called Noir has to create its brand, its specialty, so that people are interested and identify with it. I hope it stays open for a long time and I wish you the best of luck in its development.
24/07/2025: The coffee here is very good, along with some very good snacks. Although everything is very good – breakfast, lunch, and snacks – the competition is very high here in Cork regarding cafes and snack bars. A few years ago, you wouldn't see a cafe like this anywhere else, so to speak! Now they're everywhere. What I mean is that this cafe, called Noir, needs to create its own brand, its own specialty, so that people become interested and identify with it. I hope it stays open for a long time and I wish it the best of luck in its future endeavors.

01/10/2025: Lovely food. Authentic taste and top notch shisha. Although he can add a few flavours to the list as there were only 3 flavours to choose from. The guy serving was alone and looked a bit dull but overall place was a great find and the only one serving shisha in this vicinity.
30/09/2025: Food was really really good. Falafel, hummus, babaganoush, soup, wine leaf dumplings. Everything about as good as we’ve ever had.

20/09/2025: I haven’t had coffee anywhere else but Costa for a long time, but I have to say this: your team is really very amateur. Maybe it’s not their fault, but they do everything wrong. I just wanted to let you know :) If you’d like, I can help you with this free of charge :) Because this is not normal.
29/08/2025: I've been a Costa customer for many years, especially this one. I often compare going to Costa for a coffee, or espresso, to going to church on Sundays. The difference is that it's become a routine here to go every day in the late afternoon, catch up with colleagues, and spend a couple of hours here at Costa.
It has a beautiful terrace, and inside, there are many tables. The staff are all professionals, but they don't wait on tables. You can use the Wi-Fi, after all. It's a place to have a good time and a meeting point. I wish you the best of luck and many years of success.
