The best restaurants in Cork city council

03/09/2026: An excellent little restaurant. Behind an unassuming entrance lies a rather long sliver room of Japanese dining. Without a menu too expansive they know what they are doing with each and every dish. The soba noodles are perfectly made, and have some rather unique and delicious flavours, one can be sure to find one right for their palate and mood. The smoked cheese cheesecake was truly a gem, never before have I tasted a smoked cheesecake, but it is a flavour combination which works surprisingly well. The service matches the interior design, being warm, friendly, and efficient. Nothing to complain about. The only thing I would suggest, is a nicer tea selection, although the menu of wines is expansive, and I'm sure great, for people such as myself who do not consume alcohol, fine teas can be the next best thing. As a big fan of good teas, I was a little disappointed to not see more space on the menu dedicated to them. I don't believe this should be a particularly difficult feature to implement either, as teas are small, easy to prepare and stored long. I just know I will be back here the next time I'm in Cork, and I will be excited to experience it anew.

15/08/2026: Quite reasonably priced Japanese restaurant with typical dishes. However, the menu is full of non-translated Japanese terms and there is barely an explanation of the dishes in plain English. The Michelin Bib gourmand is hardly deserved. The dishes are fine, fair enough, but there misses some more aesthetic and flavour research that would justify it fully. Last, dark point: the dining room is narrow and dark, in spite of the artificial lighting. Moreover, you'll not be placed were you wish to, even if the restaurant is almost empty. One single waitress was in charge of the service. It was hardly enough to attend every guest properly. Note that the restaurant only opens for dinner.

02/09/2026: Lovely pub. Good pont and a good atmosphere. Quite when I was there but I'm sure it's buzzin as the week goes on.

31/05/2026: Brilliant staff and atmosphere in this shop. A special mention to Shane, who was incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful. He greeted customers with a smile and went out of his way to make sure everyone was looked after. It’s always nice to come across staff who genuinely care about providing great service.

05/09/2026: 2026 update: quality has declined a lot. I had crispy beef and no joke, it was like shoe leather covered in burnt brown sauce. Also I find it very annoying how they allow the delivery drivers to park in ♿️ space - ah sure it's only 5 min! If that is their attitude to rules, I have to wonder at their attitude to other things like food safety. Never again. Original 2020 review: great selection of food to take away or sit in a nice casual dining area. It styles itself as "health food" but really it is better described as a high quality take-away. The menu is mainly Asian but also the usual food favorites. Just watch out for the ruthless Apcoa clamper vans. Clamping, not parking, is their business model. Park for 5 minutes without a ticket or 5 minutes expired and they will have you. You can pay in slot meters but they are regularly sabotaged (understandably) by the locals so probably best to pay by text.

22/08/2026: Bouncer at the door called my friends ID a fake despite the fact it was a passport in date. He showed multiple forms of ID and the bouncer began squaring up to him. Highly abusive. Avoid like the plague

07/08/2026: Thanks to Chay in the Deli today for his friendliness and help. I always find the sandwiches are impeccably fresh here as well as their pastries.

06/09/2026: We had a coupon for a free snack box if we spend more then a fiver then after we said to wait we have a coupon they ignored us completely and put the payment through then after we tried saying just add the snack box the rudely said it wasn't possible and the manger was very rude and barely gave us 10 seconds of thought. Very bad

05/09/2026: Kiosks easy to use. Had the new Louisiana burger which was very tasty. It was early so wasn't too busy. Good atmosphere, music not too loud.

25/08/2026: Popped in for a bit of lunch. There was a good selection of sandwiches, wraps, and other stuff in breads available. There is also a selection of sweet treats as well. The restaurant is nicely decorated and comfortable. I got a chicken tika wrap and a caramel square, and my wife got a tuna sandwich. The price came to around €22 which considering the size of the items and tiny side salads on the plates, was steep. The food tasted ok, but I would say not worth the price. Overall, I can't say I would be back again.

19/05/2026: We were in Cork for just two nights and discovered this bar on our first night and we are glad we did. The owner, Barry I believe his name is has a very friendly tone and was very talkative and friendly to us. The bar has a strong following among locals all of which are very kind. Coming from the USA we felt very welcomed and the Murphys & Beamish was great as well. It’s definitely a place I can recommend.

08/02/2026: Went in there about 5.30pm on 7th February, a Saturday. I stood at the bar with my card in my hand attempting to make eye contact with one of the two men behind the bar for 15 minutes while others around and even next to me were served. I'm unsure why I was studiously ignored. In the end I left without purchasing a drink. My daughter had been collecting our bags from the car which was in Carrols Quay car park, she had suggested I have a drink and a sit down while she did this, and she couldn't quite believe it when she came in and witnessed this behaviour.

11/07/2026: Got a smoothie here and waited quite awhile , one was started and then it just just sitting there. When mine was finally ready it was just awful not cold and was more like a milkshake way too much frozen yoghurt no taste of fruit off it i will make a better one myself won’t be back

15/05/2026: Best night club in Cork. Without a doubt. It's very diverse, there's something for everyone. Even coming to Nudes during the day to read a book is fabulous. The space is beautiful and I always feel welcome and safe. I prefer coming to heavy gigs and EDM. This is the place to be for underground music. Thank you for caring and keeping the scene alive. And my favourite part: this room has the best sound in the city. I kid you not!!! Keep going strong! 🤘
