The best restaurants in Cork

13/09/2025: The food at the restaurant (and the hotel in general) saved the weekend at this place. Service at the hotel lacks attention to details but certain staff members managed to save the night. Food was really good.

02/09/2025: My experience was like, are we on planet Earth or in another dimension? Everything was so perfect. I loved the bar outside the hotel by the river, which was mesmerizing. I drank two Guinness beers, which is my favorite despite being in Cork, and they're loyal to Murphy's here. The staff are always on top of things, and you're treated like royalty. I highly recommend this hotel, and especially this bar, because it stands out from all the other hotels. All the best for your future.

04/09/2025: So many savory options! Best Italian I have had since going vegan. Got there, given an hr wait, went nexdoor til she called us over earlier than expected, and she waited a little extra while we finished our pints. Kind service staff. Loved the fresh ingredients. My pesto ravioli with sweet potatoes was fantastic. The linguine were perfectly al dente and we could see them being made. Saved room for dessert, the strawberry hill was delicious. All so perfectly balanced, really. Try the appetizers! We got the socca farinata. My Omni bf and I (vegan) thought this was some of the best food we've had. Cozy, romantic, welcoming, & affordable, too.

12/10/2025: We returned today, and our beloved Eoin was there. It was a pleasant surprise to run into him again. The place is comfortable and pleasant. It's our favorite spot, where we unwind with beers or coffee and let off steam about our lives. 100% recommended. Great beer.

08/10/2025: Epic Irish bar! Sunday sesh local triad Irish music! Such a cool old Irish traditional bar! Amazing seafood chowder too!

14/09/2025: If you are willing to spend a bit more than the usual price for a breakfast, you can have a truly delicious experience here. Like chef-level type of experience. Not to mention that the place is spacious and luminous, the views are fantastic, the service is top-notch, and you can have a lovely walk through the gardens (and the nun's cemetery too). And learn some history.

11/11/2025: We enjoyed delicious cocktails made with peaty Connemara whisky, professionally prepared, and savored refined small plates of lamb and beef, as well as a delectable dessert. The price reflects the quality; I highly recommend it.

16/10/2025: Highly overrated. I found this place in Google maps as we were visiting Cork and desperately looking for a quick lunch. We were the only people who ordered food at that moment, however, it took a while to get it. It looked like there was only one stressed-out lady at the counter and the kitchen. Tea and coffee came quite fast, but we waited for pancakes and omelette around 20 min. Pancakes were hard and cold inside and omelette with "salad" meaning rocket with two blobs of ketchup. And THE WORST: I found LARGE pieces of EGGSHELL inside.

17/11/2025: This is a small pub in Cork City center but it is always busy. I stop here with friends for a drink every once in a while. The bar is always busy but there is a quick turnover. Some people go to this bar for a quick drink. There is only one bartender behind the bar and he is good with his service for everyone. He is fast serving people and mixing drinks. He remembers always what people are drinking and knows what people want. The pub has all kinds of drinks but I like that they serve Guinness, Murphy's and Beamish stout on tap. I enjoy Beamish because it is smoother than the others but it is great that I can choose. With hard drinks, they serve almost everything you crave. It will be nice to have cider on tap but they only have bottles. Overall this is a nice small pub to enjoy a drink a nice time with friends. And I like that there are no phones allowed to be used in the pub.

07/11/2025: This is a must try place for a drink when visiting Cork. Set in the center in Oliver Plunkett street its like taking a step back in time. They have a strict NO PHONE policy which l loved as it stimulates conversation and a great atmosphere. The staff where friendly and the drinks tasty ... what more could you want.

23/10/2025: Bit of a con, set menu was all we were offered at €49, we had two older people who didn't want three courses, very expensive for what we got, would have been better with pub grub! Impossible to get parking too!

30/11/2025: Plenty of beers. That's about it, whole lot of nothing going on here. Constant shouting and noise from people talking and laughing supposedly having a good time. Annoying, because the place is small so there's no escape.

26/11/2025: Really great beer selection, seriously good. A must visit in Cork if you like your beers or even whiskey!

20/11/2025: Really nice experience. Fillet steak was fabulous. We had a large group and they looked after everyone really well.

13/11/2025: I plan and schedule monthly private dinners with my group of friends in Cork. Most of us loved our food and service was absolutely great, we loved our waiter. One of my friends however had an issue with her pasta, where it tasted overly salty to the point where she couldn’t finish it, we all tried it. Pretty sure something accidentally happened there but she relied on her side dish as her main meal. Otherwise would be back again!

14/09/2025: Went down for the sounds from a safe harbour festival and had a delicious pint of Beamish while enjoying live music

11/09/2025: Went along for the trad session this evening supposedly from 6pm, hoping to play, but unfortunately it had been cancelled so no tunes fix for me. Not quite sure why- one or two other bemused musicians floating around. Nice enough pub otherwise though.
