14/11/2024: One of our favourite bars in Cork. Authentic, cozy, and no cell phones. The service is great, and the atmosphere is always lively. A hidden gem.

02/11/2024: A total rip off… my friend and I shared a cheese and meat sharing platter. 4 slices of very thin salami, 3 pieces of cheese, 2 chicken balls and 1 piece of black pudding sliced in 2… hard bread and not great crackers. €22… the sauce that was supposed to be there wasn’t. We had to ask for it… they were out of it. Crab starter €17… small, not great. (Say no more) I’m over from London, a tourist the city needs. I can absolutely see why Ireland is not attracting the tourists they need. I will not return

01/09/2024: Spent some time here with a friend on a sunny day. Had pizza and a few drinks. Great selection of pizzas, and good selection of craft beers too. Wonderful beer garden, great surroundings for a city pub and staff are very pleasant.

28/07/2024: got pizza and no dip 💔 i asked 45 times but they kept forgetting. guy next to us was pretty lush tho enjoyed brushing up against him for the night if u know what i mean :)

05/11/2024: We were staying in Cork city for the jazz weekend and decided to take a walk out to Douglas to Marcello's as I had heard about the vegan menu! And wow..it was amazing! So much choice and the dishes were amazing..authentic, home made Italian dishes! We will definitely be back whenever we are in Cork! A must visit for everyone!

29/10/2024: Can't say enough positive things about this friendly and cosy Italian. Excellent service, amazing food and a great atmosphere in which to enjoy our food and drink.....cocktails weren't half bad either!!

22/10/2024: Had a coffee, quite good. I asked for a glass of water. I was told i could only have bottled water. Apparently, there is some issue with the filter. I am at a loss to understand as Cork water is potable. I have noted the comments from Humphry. I have also noted comments he made to other reviews. It does appear Humphry has a problem with any comments which may in any way be negative to Cafe Depeche. In the case of my review, I noted that the reason I couldn't have a glass of water with my coffee was because the filter was broken. On a previous visit, some short weeks earlier, I again was told the same thing by the woman who had served me. Humphry, you are, of course, at liberty to be perhaps the only cafe in Cork charging for tap water.

13/10/2024: Just arrived in Cork and found this amazing little place right around the corner from our hotel. Individually made omelets, fabulous crepes and one of the best Cesar salads with fresh goat cheese and walnuts. Don’t forget to leave with a homemade dessert! Jane your place is SO awesome!

07/11/2024: Lovely salads, lovely produce, unfriendly staff sometimes, I hadn't been for a few weeks and was taking maybe 20 seconds to pick my salads - there was no one waiting behind me and the person getting the salads for me sighed and I felt rushed like I was irritating her... is this not her job? I have always worked in hospitality - yes it can be difficult /repetitive but I also had a difficult morning. Please allow me a minute to choose from the great salad without expressing how inconvenient I am as a customer and interrupting your afternoon. Some people wouldn't mind or notice but it definitely made me think I would just go somewhere else next time. EDIT: I returned here after not going for a while and can confirm the produce is still always excellent and the staff were actually lovely, really friendly and helpful! We all have our off days but today wasn't one of them for loving salads - 10/10

20/11/2024: There is nothing I didn’t like about the place. The atmosphere was amazing, one of the best service it the city and the food was great. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough 10/10

17/11/2024: Great food and fantastic atmosphere on a Saturday night.

27/11/2024: A very small local chipper just across the toy store but the service is quick and consistent enough to make you return again. The fish and chips itself is very good especially the portion size, the chips could be better in my opinion though but also try the other options on the menu if you get a chance. They also provide discount for students and public servants which makes it quite affordable. Overall, one of the better chippers in the city unlike many other overhyped ones which lack substance.

24/11/2024: Almost too much to choose from as everything looks amazing, we went with the Cod and Korean Chicken tenders. Each meal includes chips as part of the price so enough to leave feeling full. We decided to eat in and Service is very quick and wait times were less then 5 mins for the food to come out. And of course nearly everything is gluten free so great for friends partners or kids who require celiac friendly food

08/11/2024: Authenticate Irish Pub complete with traditional Irish music by the locals. Great place to grab a pint of Guinness.

03/11/2024: Excellent traditional music in the corner, a log on the fire, and friendly, professional service of tasty beverages. Not to mention amicable regulars. I couldn't ask for more at a pub. [I didn't rate the food because we didn't eat here]
