The best restaurants in Dublin

03/01/2026: Michaela looked after us Booked a table for 7, service charge added We went with the Early Bird 3 Course Meal €30.95 Decent choices, good value I went with the Spicy Chicken Wing Starter, Satay Chicken Curry 1/2 & 1/2 with the Malteeser Cheesecake option Our only hiccup was the dessert, one of our guests has an allergy to strawberry and was given strawberry. This was rectified and an alternative provided. Please make sure to cater for all, if some mentions an allergy then write down allergy. If you need the chef to come out to the table, then get the chef! Other than that, friendly courteous staff and thank you to Michaela for an enjoyable night.

26/12/2025: The braised pig's trotters were delicious—the broth was flavorful and the meat tender, a taste that brought me back home! The barbecue is also highly recommended; highly recommended, I'll definitely come again. The portions are generous, perfect for group meals.

26/12/2025: It's so delicious, there's always a new surprise every time. I've been here many times. The owners are both warm and lovely people from Northeast China, and I always leave with a great feeling. They offer Sichuan cuisine, Northeastern BBQ, and Thai food, all very authentic because the chefs are professional. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and it's suitable for parties and gatherings, as well as enjoying a quiet drink alone! The new braised pig's trotters are perfect!!

07/10/2025: I would like to make a complaint about a very disappointing experience at your café. The staff member who served us was extremely rude and unprofessional, behaving as if she was doing us a favor instead of providing customer service. We really enjoy your coffee, but this kind of attitude completely ruins the experience. I hope management takes this seriously and ensures proper customer service training for the staff involved.

27/09/2025: The place is so nice and has lots of variety of beverages and food as well. The staff is so unfriendly and grumpy! No smiles at all , I didn’t feel very comfortable there.

16/01/2026: Stopped here simply because it was very close to my hotel and they had a deal for pizza and beer… no regrets! The pizza was absolutely delicious and a fair price, the decor is great and the staff is friendly and approchable. Not many people when we went as it was a weekday, but a few events were announced and it looked like a lot of fun. Feels like a safe space for LGBTQ+ folks which is a huge plus! Only knocked down a star because although most tables were empty, they were pretty much all wobbly and sticky. 😅 Loved our evening here, just wished a little more attention was paid to the cleanliness and to the comfort of guests.

13/01/2026: This place sums up the problem with modern "restaurants"! First of all you have to order through a qr code on the table why ? It's not COVID anymore just hire some waiting staff and on the same point I ordered a burger that was 12e PLUS chips at extra cost!?! (Portion was tiny) The burger took nearly an hour to arrive I wouldn't mind but we were the only table in the place and the staff spent most there time talking to each others whats the point in your staff they do nothing! Basically very overpriced especially for a burger I could of made at home for well less than 5e. No service as you order on your phone and your food takes an hour to arrive meanwhile staff do nothing except chatting with eachother and then grunt when you as about service. This place is a pretentious overpriced kip I don't understand why you charge so much when you don't have staff taking orders honestly I could of done the job of your 3staff members by myself and actually provide a service! I won't be back and I will strongly recommend nobody else dose!

10/12/2025: A really good value-for-money spot. Even though the prices have increased in recent years it's still only €9 for a full carton. I got the chicken lemongrass and it was great value for money. If you want calories per euro this is the place to go.

05/11/2025: I went there last Sunday. Everything would have been perfect, but the manager was really disappointing. He was very aggressive and spoke rudely. Honestly, he seemed to be 100% under the influence of alcohol. An older man, with completely inappropriate behavior for a public place.

27/01/2026: The atmosphere is very peaceful and beautiful. It’s a cocktail bar with dozens of options. They used to serve food but they do not anymore. We were surprised upon arrival since we could see the menu through our reservation. We understood the situation and the staff were very lovely. The drinks were delicious.

22/01/2026: Incredibly fun cocktail experience. You need to get upstairs for the bespoke cocktails, the main level is also nice but standard drinks (with a cozy vibe). No food served other than complimentary (and delicious) popcorn.

25/10/2025: Excellent local supermarket with nearly everything one would need for a weekly shop. Obviously, physical size is the limiting factor so less commonly used items can be difficult or impossible to find. Staff are friendly and helpful. Adequate car park that usually suffices but occasionally gets overwhelmed. Has an array of 7kw chargers - unfortunately 2 or 3 are permanently out of order and reporting this to a manager (repeatedly) is usually met with shoulder shrugging but no action. Very frustrating. If the chargers were fixed, this store would be a 5* one.

14/09/2025: Every time I am here the staff are so rude. Today I thanked the til operator and said have a good day after he scanned all my items. He looked in the opposite direction, completely ignoring me. It’s not the first time this has happened either. I’m not usually one to post a negative review, but as someone who has worked in customer facing roles for years (so I understand how difficult it can be) I just have always found the customer service here to be appalling it’s so disheartening.

30/04/2025: A pesar del nombre, una joya maravillosa en Dublín. La comida era tipo pub, delicioso, y el servicio era excelente. Nos gustó como un lugar divertido para conseguir algo de comida del pub. Nos llevamos dos foodies con nosotros y les encantó también. Maravilloso pescado con papas fritas. Las porciones son grandes, no tengas miedo de compartir.

28/04/2025: Tuvimos nuestra primera cena en Dublín aquí... Estofado irlandés, pan integral, Murphy's Stout y Smithwick's y nos gustó tanto que volvimos a cenar en nuestra última noche en Dublín dos semanas después. Gran ambiente... y asegúrese de ir arriba!

30/12/2025: We visited this evening and your waiter Keith was really kind and helpful with my Mum who is a wheelchair user. He helped her into a comfy seat and straight away got her a glass of water. Nothing was too much for him. It's lovely to see young staff who will go the extra mile to take care of customers. The food was good too. Great portion size. More than we could finish.

20/12/2025: Online it says they open at 7:30am on Saturday yet when I went at 7:35 I was told they do not open until 8am.

29/09/2025: As a regular visitor to Butlers in Ballsbridge I’m writing this review as a very disappointed customer. I order extra hot, hot chocolate. Nearly every time I receive it ,it’s lukewarm. Not even hot. It’s either far too milky or too much lumps of chocolate. The staff need more training and the outdoor seating area is often very dirty .
