The best restaurants in Dublin

21/12/2025: We visited this restaurant for a Christmas party about two weeks ago. We booked a table for 10 people and were clearly told at the time of booking that it would not be a problem if fewer people turned up. We paid a €100 deposit. On the night, 7 people attended. We ordered the 3-course set menu for everyone, plus a lot of additional drinks and desserts, so the final spend was well above the set menu price (around €45 pp). Unfortunately, the experience was very poor: • Instead of prosecco, we were served a still wine with no bubbles, in a wine glass. When we asked to change it, staff insisted it was prosecco. • Medium-rare steaks arrived well done. • Coffee ordered with desserts was forgotten and never brought. • When the bill arrived, only €70 of the €100 deposit was deducted, with the explanation that fewer people attended. We explained again that it was agreed in advance that fewer people might come, and that we had ordered plenty of extra food and drinks anyway. Staff claimed this policy was written on their website. When I politely asked them to show where this was stated, they could not. At that point, the waitress became aggressive and accused me of being rude, despite my calm tone. Eventually, they came back with a reduced bill. To top it off, another waiter approached our table and told me: “You are not welcome in our restaurant anymore.” Completely unprofessional behaviour, poor service, and unacceptable customer treatment. I would not return and would not recommend this place.

10/12/2025: Lovely restaurant, cosy atmosphere, I’ve been there twice in a group of 20 people for Christmas dinner by 6pm. I had duck roll, grilled sea bass and tiramisu. Food was tasty, service was fast and attentive. I recommend that!

18/08/2025: Good brekkie. Drinks should arrive a bit quicker but apart from that lovely job. Don't sit in the back on a hot day.

01/02/2026: I went yesterday with friends to this place, and I really regretted it. First, each person—even non-shisha smokers—must pay €10, which does not include a drink or food- for nothing. On top of that, you still have to stay only 1.5 hour, and you must pay at least €22 more if you want to stay longer. When we ordered shisha, it took almost 30 minutes to be prepared, and it didn’t taste very good. Hot drinks took nearly 40 minutes to arrive, and there was only one friendly, poor waitress working. It wasn’t a great experience.

01/02/2026: Visited this place for the first time and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere is amazing—warm, welcoming, and full of good energy. The service was excellent, and to top it off, the owner himself is incredibly polite and gentle. Definitely a spot I’d love to visit again!

29/11/2025: Recently at the Ballsbridge branch, delivery option is regularly not available. Ordered Collection, went down for allotted time, mayhem inside. Staff answering the phone and checking orders appeared new, slow and flustered, had to stand around for 10 mins before I accosted a worker and then 1 of 2 ordered pizza’s was retrieved from a heating bag. Had to wait another 5 mins until someone bothered looking for pizza 2. Various people in the restaurant in the same boat as me, frustration was rife. Suffice to say pizza was not hot, was saggy and greasy once home. With the cost of pizza’s, please do better. Expensive treat tarnished by poor service today

19/11/2025: Only outdoor eating and wasn't cleaned outside was full of empty pizza boxes and used tissues

30/07/2025: More than 1 hour to wait for my order. The chicken came cold and tasteless, same for the burger. For this price it was really bad

16/10/2025: Lovely place, great service. The restaurant in great with excellent space and location. Good options in the menu and food was amazing. Recommended.

12/10/2025: Visited here with my partner and baby. He ordered Lasagna, the lasagna was stone cold in the middle with hard cheese on top. We had to return it to the kitchen and he felt stomach turned so didn’t request new food. I ordered fish and chips, the chips were nice but the fish was slimy and wet, I thought this was normal as it was hot right through. I felt so sick shortly after my food for the whole night. So disappointing…. We also waited 30 mins for a menu my partner had to go twice and ask, also left waiting 5 mins on knifes and forks. Awful food and service.

07/09/2025: Shout out to Mal and Roberto! They’re such great baristas. I went in today and got a lovely coffee, completely different from the one I had on Wednesday. This time it actually tasted great, and I was pleasantly surprised. Got a caramel latte. The boys are quick, friendly, and already know my order after just one visit. The café could definitely use more staff like them!

08/07/2025: Absolutely loved Boho Café! The food and atmosphere are great, and it’s such a brilliant idea to have a café like this right in the hospital. It makes a huge difference for patients and visitors alike.

28/12/2025: Myself and husband ate here last night & it was even better than before!! Absolutely delicious 5* food. Have been many times, but will definitely be back more often. Best Indian food around!

14/12/2025: Not worth the money , smallest large bag of chips €3.90 i ever got and skinniest battered sausage I've eaten . Very poor..

27/02/2025: I got a donut and coffee before a bus tour leaving nearby. I appreciate that the shop is open at 0630 even on a Sunday. The donut was fresh and the coffee was delicious. I went back a couple of times during my week.

20/01/2026: Terrible. 12.50 for 1 slice of bread with 1 lonely egg. Daylight robbery. My own fault for paying for it ! Don’t waste your money.

17/01/2026: Can't fault the service at McCloskeys. Extremely efficient and friendly bar staff. The food however was very disappointing. My partner ordered a full roast dinner but what he got was luke warm microwaved dinner. It looked like it was prepared the previous day. The vegetables were grey, the stuffing was obviously reheated several times as it was dry and hard not to mention a tiny portion. The meat was cold in parts and barely warm in others and the broccoli was raw. It was hugely disappointing and he couldn't finish it. I had the hake which I couldn't eat. Mine was also reheated and almost tasted like plastic. When we arrived the place it was early evening and was empty so it makes no sense that the food was so bad. We had high hopes for McCloskeys as we loved the pub through the years. Hopefully they will see this review and endeavour to improve their food quality.

20/12/2025: Had a fabulous meal in the Cornernote on Friday evening (it’s now open on Thurs, Fri & Sat evenings). Food, wine, ambience and service were all superb. Great vegetarian options. I highly recommend it.

19/12/2025: Spent a lovely winter’s evening enhanced by heartwarming delicious food, perfect for the time of year. Waiter was excellent, patient and friendly. Would return tomorrow if I could!

31/12/2025: Got the shovelhead (swapped Salame for Italian sausage), the parma, the vegan garden with buffalo mozzarella, and the Salame. They were all amazing. Really really enjoyed, will definitely be ordering from here again :))

25/08/2025: I was inspired to offer a review after three excellent experiences. This is a genuinely terrific Pizza offering (Hawaiian, adding wild mushrooms and sweetcorn). The staff seem to enjoy working there, and that may help explain the great food.
