12/10/2025: It was still good a couple of years ago. I don't know what happened now. But the burgers have gotten smaller. The staff seems sleepy and lazy. And I suspect they're deliberately reducing the ingredients in the portions. I bought a double cheeseburger. The photo should show two patties, but in reality, it's just one, cut into halves.

06/09/2025: A proper old school cafe, you won't get a better value traditional breakfast & the ladies working there are lovely. Very few of these places left, they should be treasured. Don't come here if you're looking for crushed avocado or berry bowls
15/08/2025: Everything was pre prepared and sitting in glass heating case. Something similar to a hot food counter in a shop.
Cutlery was dirty but the waitress exchanged them when she was made aware.

We waited 50 minutes for them to bring me the wrong order, I ordered chicken roll with sweet chilli, corn and lettuce but they gave me bread and chicken, there was some kind of seasoning in the chicken and it was cold. Had to vomit in the bathroom for 15 minutes afterwards. For €20 each this is ridiculous!
14/07/2025: AVOID. AWFUL OVERPRICED FOOD AND TERRIBLE SERVICE . Ordered vegetarian breakfast burrito. It was cooked in same pan as bacon. When I queried this it was denied by staff member. Fortunately I could see food being cooked from my table only a few feet away. When I asked the staff member she blatantly denied meat and vegetarian food cooked in same pan. I had to walk her over to cooking area and point it out to her which seemed to leave her speechless. My son ordered Irish breakfast which was inedible. No apology from staff or manager. Very disappointing. When I asked for the bill the waitress asked me if I wanted the burrito taken off bill?! Shocked at how bad this was.

03/06/2025: We recently hosted our Day 2 of our wedding in the river terrace of Ashtons, and to say the team went above and beyond would be an understatement! We went for the BBQ option and the food was incredible (and plentiful!) and every single member of the Ashtons team were so lovely, and so attentive to all of our guests. We had a number of guests coming up to us making comments about how well run the whole event was! I couldn’t recommend it more for anyone booking an event, Gerry and the team were fantastic to work with.
07/03/2025: —- Oh guys what happened? Was going there for years and used to be great but now very disappointing! —- I know your in middle of renovations, but portion for chicken supreme was pigeon leg sized and in red wine gravy and mash… ehh and chicken supreme is usually in a white creamy sauce? Too expensive shrink-flationed portions! Bridges burnt won’t return.

The quality and portions of food were very bad. We left the restaurant still hungry.
The prices has gone up and their menu has been made smaller with less options to choose from.
The service was bad as the staff were very forgetful.
This Captain Americas used to be great. We were very disappointed to what it has become.
28/09/2025: Took over a hour to get main course ..staff told us that after starters it's up to 20 mins to get mains...we arrived at 15:25 and got mains at 16:40... we had kids with us and had to ask a few times where are food was ..took 10 mins to get deserts after asking for it at least 20 mins after kids finishing there meals...
