The best restaurants in Dublin

21/07/2025: On Sunday, I experienced racial abuse from an elderly man in his sixties at Costa in Shankill. Accompanied by my nine-year-old daughter and my younger brother, I witnessed an unsettling encounter. The man struggled to use the card machine, resembling an iPad, prompting my brother to politely suggest that he tap the top part. In response, the man aggressively retorted, "Mind your own f-ing business and go back to where you came from." He further stated, "You are in Ireland now." When I asked him to elaborate on that statement, he refused to respond. I also heard him mumble something about being a woman, though I couldn't catch the exact words. His behavior escalated as he began licking his lips and eyeing me in an unsettling manner. He had a distinct accent, which I could not pinpoint—possibly African or New Zealand—but it was clearly foreign. When I confronted him regarding his remarks and inquired about his origins, he merely laughed and declined to answer. This experience has left me feeling unsafe about returning to that Costa. Such behaviour is utterly unacceptable and should not be tolerated in our community.

05/07/2025: Bright, spacious café on two floors. The barista (tall, red-haired guy) was very fast and skilled, yet he always found the time to smile. Perfect spot for meet-ups and my cortado was delicious!

18/10/2025: 3 hours waiting for delivery.. order cancelled

28/09/2025: Service very bad manger was very rude food took 2 half hour they forgot the rice would t order from there had to return the food because it was cold

23/09/2025: I am a Nespresso customer for nearly 12 years and few days ago went to the Grafton Street store and had a horrible experience, my sister and I and other friends were buying coffee in store and as we were in 7 to not overcrowd the store as we had a elderly and a person with special needs, some of us waite to the coffee station as the others were shopping and we were mistreated and humiliated in front other customers in store for one so called coffee specialists. I have open a complaint with Nespresso and this has happen about 10 days ago, and no one has contacted me. So think few times before buying coffee at this store as they have no respect for people there. They pic and chose who they are chatty and friendly. Shame on Nespresso and it's staff in grafton street store.

30/10/2025: The coffee isn't good, but the pastries and sandwiches are adequate. The atmosphere is pleasant.

25/10/2025: The staff is terrible, they didn't ask what kind of glass they were pouring into, glass or cardboard, takeaway or in, the communication was terrible, they gave my latte to another person, I had to wait 5 minutes.

05/08/2025: Whoever said this was good food needs to be checked I’ve ordered for delivery 3 times and it was cold with 1 hour wait absolutely disgraceful it will be my last time i only live 3 minutes away on satnav and cold food every time bearing in mind I’ve eaten hear for years this used to be one of the best chipper but now it can not be eaten who ever is cooking this food wants to kill someone and the delivery driver must be blind because there is no return with your food but good luck I hope this place gets shut down

25/07/2025: Sag aloo is amazing. Peshwari naan is great but much sweeter than it usually is, so depends on your preference. Dal tarka is a bit spicy for me but the flavour is really nice.

11/05/2025: The choice of food was good but the chardonnay sold by the glass was undrinkable.

13/07/2025: So bear in mind I arrived here at 2:30 AM as it is one of the few places open 24 hours in Dublin. So at that time you had the usual crowd of young party people, older drunks, beggars ect. That said, I felt safe, there was food and coffee and the area has a great vibe. Overall, great experience.

30/06/2025: Too bad the waitress is so unfriendly. Otherwise, the place is pleasant. Crazy how a grumpy waitress can ruin everything!

14/09/2025: Another good circle K Nice shop, nice deli and the staff are so friendly it's a pleasure to go in

09/09/2025: Today I was going to look around in this shop at Grafton Street (10-10-2024). The security fella asked me which beer I wanted. I told him I was just looking but he doesn't understand me. He asked me to leave shop. I was trying to change my mind but he just asked me to leave. I did not even say nor did I do anything wrong. I wasn't even trying to steal anything either. He seemed to be quite rude. I was bit upset, uncomfortable and worried. I was also bit confused about it. Right, that's it! I am not coming back to this shop ever again. If you're reading this, avoid the shop.

28/09/2025: While the food was decent, they refused our frienda that ordered take away to sit with us. We had empty seats at our table and they made them stand out in the cold. Unbelievable policy and I will not return as a result. While we insisted they were friends they forced them to stand outside for a takeaway order while we had a half filled table inside. Do not recommend!

28/09/2025: Wild policy about not letting folks wait inside when ordering to go, especially when you know the group and its not taking up any more real estate at a table or booth. Comeback sauce slaps.

24/09/2025: I do not recommend the matcha , I got iced vanilla matcha and it was so sour and bitter with lumps and grains . It’s like spoilt milk , made me feel sick . Took ages to order .

14/09/2025: The place is pleasant, though in the typical style of new coffee shops. What really stands out online is the hot chocolate: made with real chocolate, yet disappointingly thin in texture. A shame, since I went specifically to try it because real hot chocolate is rare to find in Dublin.

19/09/2025: Ordered Sweet Basil with Beef and another with prawn. Both were inedible. Level of spice was way too much and was full of onion. Very disappointed as we ordered from Diep loads before. I rang the restaurant when I got home but all they said was that that a manager would ring me back but I got no call.

31/08/2025: Pad thai was really poor, not to the same standards as previous orders, the prawn in it was really poor, as for the chicken. The thai chicken satay was also poor, watery is one way of describing it. Maybe a once off as previous orders were always good.
