Roly's Bistro

Dublin
No recomendaría si quieres algo especial.

Penny Black Taverns

Dublin
03/03/2025: The food was dreadful, but the place was lively. I got fish and chips, and the fish was cold on the inside, as in, not cooked cold, not gone cold My wife got a wrap and soup, and there was mould on the wrap, I paid and up and left for Burger King Never again
03/02/2025: Old style pub. Travel back to the 80s! Nice friendly. Comfortable. Lovely staff. Across from fantastic walk in Tymon Park. Highly recommend. Near library. Lovely views of Dublin mountains from area. A tonic coming from congested Blackrock and Dun Laoghaire!

02/03/2025: Great variety of prepared meals, loved the mixed Salad bars and the fact I could get organic tomatoes. It’s the food shop of choice in D2…highly recommend.

Conways

Dublin
04/04/2025: No idea what the bad reviews on here are about. We had a wonderful time in this charming pub. A welcoming and comfortable space with a fire, sofas, board games, friendly staff and good drinks. We had a great time. Check it out.
16/03/2025: Quiet, dog friendly pub in Blackrock. Very much your old school pub vibes, little rough around the edges, nice staff, fireplace, cozy atmosphere.

Burger King

Dublin
08/04/2025: When it comes to the Burger King in Ireland, this location is one of the better ones. Warm in temperature and warm in atmosphere anytime I have been here. The food has been consistently of good quality and hot! Some locations of burger king and the " other" fast food chain seam to pride them self's on cold soggy chips/ fries, but that is not the case in this establishment. In the area? Fancy a burger.. head to the king!
31/03/2025: Nice place and grat staff, very kind manager and staff.

Brown's Brasserie Dublin at Brown Thomas

Dublin
29/04/2025: We came back for the first time in over a year and really enjoyed the new menu. Prices are very reasonable in that you'd pay the same most places in Dublin for far less.
07/04/2025: I recently dined with my friend at Brown’s Brasserie. Food and drinks were both delicious, and service from the waitresses was friendly and prompt. The issue I had with my experience was not with the waitresses or the food, as both of these were very good, but rather with who I presume was the manager (man who looked to be in his forties, greyer hair). During my meal, I witnessed him behaving very unprofessionally to members of his own staff. I, as well as my friend who I was dining with, took notice of this, and it made our lunch very uncomfortable. We have dined here before and not experienced this issue. In fact, we were introduced to another manager who was very friendly and did not exhibit the behaviour of this manager. If there are issues behind the scenes, I understand, as I used to work in restaurants myself. However, this shouldn’t ever impact the experience of customers, and for a restaurant of this caliber, one would expect inter-staff communications to be more professional than what we experienced. As a side note, coeliac accommodations were very good. Gluten-free bread was offered, and the waitresses were able to ensure that cross-contamination was avoided.

Lin's Palace

Dublin
31/03/2025: Best spice bag and curry sauce I've had!
31/03/2025: Tried this place for the first time and got the Governor Tso's chicken. The container was barely filled with sauce, so the rice was so dry I had to use my own soy sauce. Chicken felt chewy in the mouth so I cut one open to check it, and it's pink! Can't speak for the other dishes, but this is a terrible standard.

Little Frieda’s

Dublin
14/04/2025: Just had a coffee but lovely little spot if in the area for popping in for bite to eat and drinks!!
08/03/2025: Food is ok. Service is a real ‘we’re doing you a favour’ style. No table service for coffee. Perhaps there is for food. Place could use a good clean. Not exactly customer focussed.

Damascus Gate

Dublin
29/07/2024: The worst dining experience I have ever had!!! I wouldn't give anywhere a bad review but this was shocking. Firstly me and my wife were greeted with as much as a grunt and a "Sit wherever we are empty anyway" attitude. We were sat at a table where menus were basically thrown at us. The layout of the menu is awful the mezze boards were written all over the place, when my wife tried to order the Syrian platter the owner repeated Beirut, she pointed at the Syrian on the menu and he repeated yes its the Beirut, which of course when it came it was not what we wanted on the platter at all, and at a price of €25 is too much to be wrong. We ordered the rest of our meal which was promptly rushed out of my wife as if he had better things to be doing. All the time we were there we were never asked for drinks so I had to ask as he had no interest, and on the menu it said it came with ice and lemon, but it arrived with neither. Our mains arrived and my Wifes tasted like the yoghurt sauce had turned, and there were no pomegrante seeds as stated on the menu. Mine was rock solid, molten hot (Microwaved) and contained plastic containers for sauce that you would expect from a take away. The meat and rice were so hard and inedible that as I write this I feel physically ill. I proceeded to try and ask could we get the bill and explain that the food had been inedible but to my surprise me and my wife were left completely alone in the restaurant with no one. I went into the kitchen and found someone and asked could we sort the bill and where our waiter was to be told he has left and we would have to wait until whenever hes back. This is outragious he left his customers completely alone in the restaurant and we were expected to stay than pay for attrocious inedible food. The poor kitchen porter was super apologetic and even looked afraid of what will happen when his boss arrives back. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!!
14/07/2024: It's lovely place I love the food and the decorations well done 👍

An Bhialann St Pats

Dublin
08/04/2025: I visited St. Patrick’s College in Drumcondra on a sunny Saturday and was genuinely impressed by how much character the campus has. The historic buildings like Belvedere House and the old Gothic-style chapel (which was closed during my visit) give the place real depth, while the open green spaces and modern sculptures add a fresh, thoughtful touch. I wandered past the well-kept sports pitches — they were lively and added to the vibrant feel of the campus. It’s clearly still a space where learning, movement, and reflection all coexist. Parking was straightforward thanks to a designated pay-for-parking area (CP6), and I noticed plenty of signage for permit zones too. It felt organised and easy to navigate. There happened to be an open day atmosphere, with a few student-led tours and a welcoming vibe overall. The campus balances its deep history with a very current, open energy — I’d definitely come back, even just for a walk.
