McGowans
Dublin
04/05/2026: We visited here on Sunday 3rd May. The staff were so accommodating with providing a table in a already very heavily reserved bar!! ( we had not booked in)
The service and food were fabulous. Children's menus provided and no issue at all with accomodating children's quirky requests!!
Prices are so reasonable for lovely fresh, delicious food.
Would highly recommend McGowans of Phibsborough and we will definitly be back.
04/05/2026: The place was awesome! Brenda and Atish were great and made a phenomenal aperol spritz. The guiness tacos might have been the best thing I ate in Ireland

Meltdown
Dublin
28/08/2025: Really bad drop off from this place. Was previously my favourite space for lunch in Dublin.
Unfortunately with massive price increases and a drop in quality it’s not worth it.
Ordered the spicy Cajun sandwich and noticed they stopped putting any sauce on it. 12€ for a dry chicken and cheese sandwich is frankly a rip off
28/08/2025: I will never visit this place again and you should not, either.
However, if you decide to go there, you should definitely double-check your receipt here before paying. First I was charged 25.25 instead of 11.60 but realized only after swiping my card. Then they initiated a refund and charged my card again with the right amount (11.60), so I thought it was OK after all. I only realized on the next day (when the refund arrived) that they decided to "keep the change" and refund only 25.00.

Wall & Keogh Superior Teas
Dublin
02/01/2026: Quality product. Great Quality Tea, really great Food. The Cake I had (Coffee Cake) is the best quality Coffee Cake I have ever had. How this place does not have long line outside?, or maybe it does I just got lucky, another customer told me it gets really busy at weekends so go duing the no popular times to get a seat and chill. I will ceratinly be back. Loved it.
01/01/2026: I ordered some loose leaf decaf tea a couple of days ago. I was very pleasantly surprised to receive my order the next day, I had not expected to receive it until after the Christmas break and the prompt delivery was very much appreciated. Tasty decaf teas are hard to come by. My previous supplier ceased trading recently and the prospect of looking for a new one felt daunting. I ordered samples from a few online shops and Wall & Keogh is a clear winner. I will be back for more soon!

Sandyford House
Dublin
01/06/2026: Great local with friendly bar staff, good place to grab some pub grub
24/05/2026: Went on Tuesday night in January and the place was pretty empty. Had chicken wings and it was a huge portion. Food was good though. When we finished the waitress teased us with the dessert menu. We can't say no especially since she already laid down the cutlery for dessert. Had the cheesecake, which was Nutella and coconut, which was light for dessert . Brownie was apparently too sweet for a full stomach.

The 51
Dublin
15/04/2026: A really lovely pub with incredibly friendly staff!
🇮🇪❤️🇮🇪
26/03/2026: Lovely.
I went to Ireland for the first time after my mom passed away. I wanted to learn more about my mom who always celebrated our Irish heritage in lots of things—the church, St Paddy’s Day, and the Virgin Mary. She’d warn me about her ‘ Irish Temper’ and cook stew. Lol ☘️
This bar is a cute spot I went to the Speed Dating Event which they have there. I’m commenting in the Soeed dating event.
Look in advance and book hotels in area perhaps. Dublin is walkable.
An Irish farmer at the event wanted me to live with him straight away 🤣🤣🤣. It was lovely fun. They slowed down the accent for me as I’m from California. I have accent too. Lol
Speed dating was a unique way to have fun and travel.
I hope the farmer found love. I was tempted!
Big hugs from Laurie across the water.
Btw
Dublin is walkable and SAFE at night!! I walked back to my hotel alone. Never ever in the states would I walk alone at night but all the receptionists at my hotel told me they did. They said we can’t vouch for downtown ( by Temple Bar) bc there are tourists there.
Ireland is one of the safest countries in the world I read. I’m sure there are exceptions but I felt safe. Tip: Don’t say you’re Irish. We say that in the states, but we’re distant cousins unless you can track your lineage back correctly. I just say—My great great gran lived in Dublin—Nora O’Leary!
I received a hug and acceptance with this toned down attitude.
Ok. Go and have fun. Americans let’s be on our best, kindest and humble behavior. (Not too popular right about now.)
No, they don’t have a ton of ice, but they have the best milk you ever tasted—grass-fed. I had to start buying it for $7.50 a half gallon. Irish milk is the best.
Yes, obviously you now know I left a piece of my heart in Dublin. 💚💚. Check out The 51 Bar

The Bank on College Green
Dublin
04/05/2026: Absolutely thrilled with this fantastic restaurant. The food is first-class, the service is superb, and the building is beautiful, with old safes in the basement.
03/05/2026: Went to go for food went to shake the guys hand on arrival to which he refused and was rude and said no you can’t come in!the fact that we just got here and wanted food and was not drunk is actually immaterial as rude is rude as being told you are to drunk when you clearly wasn’t and just hate the English is a joke!!!I will be taking this further and asking for cctv footage and I hope he gets reprimanded!!!

Gourmet Burger Kitchen
Dublin
24/03/2026: What can I say?
It's been four weeks since we went to this taste bud prison. We still can't believe it.
First of all, almost all of us ordered "tenders" for €10. FIVE TENDERS!!!!!!! I'M OUTRAGED.
The tenders were as dry as the Sahara Desert and as small as a fetus. And let's not even talk about the extremely slow service, even though there were only about six of us in the restaurant.
The €5 fries were just as traumatic.
Sincerely,
Lucie, Lucas, Joffrey, Garance, and Kathleen. (and Lilou) 😁
09/03/2026: Great as usual. Busy there on a Saturday but worth the wait.

Thai Baan Cafe
Dublin
26/11/2025: Food Review:
Braised pork leg with rice - The pork and rice were only warmed in the microwave. The braising was barely noticeable in the meat, and the sauce was too watery. The meat's texture was dry. (1/5)
Pad Thai with prawns - I had high expectations for this dish, as it was cooked by a native Thai chef, but I could barely taste any seasoning. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the prawns were decent. (2/5)
Thai Milk Tea (large) - It tasted okay, but it couldn't compare to authentic Thai milk tea like you can get in Thailand. (2/5)
Moo Ping - the pork meat is tender but the taste is not sweet, savory and no charred flavor. (1/5)
10/11/2025: The food tasted delicious and people are very friendly

Osteria Lucio
Dublin
28/04/2026: Cocktails to die for, highly recomend the aged negroni.
Food is amazing except the tirimasu was.slightly disappointing. Staff are fantastic
28/04/2026: I really don't understand 5star reviews... The food was nothing more than average. Not bad, but average. The service was average. The good thing is the portions size - they were not big, so you can have a starter and the main dish and that'll be ok, not too much.
