The best restaurants in Dublin

21/03/2025: Great experience here at Gleesons Hotel. Friendly staff, beautiful rooms and very good customer service. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Dublin.

08/03/2025: On arrival our reservation couldn't be found for several minutes. There were 3 of us and unfortunately for 2 of our three courses our plates were served several minutes apart. The sole goujons were overcooked and dry and chips were not french fries as stated but undercooked chips, the prawn pil pil with rice was dry. We would have pointed this out if we had been given a checkback. The thorn in our side was the 10%service charge which is ridiculous considering the lack of expected service. I wouldn't have given my usual tip so in one way they won but will lose long term. Very disappointing from somewhere we enjoyed so many times in the past.

28/03/2025: Bread lines I haven't seen since 1989 Romania. An abused monopoly on decent sourdough bread. Complete disregard for customers. 2025 update: rampant line cutting, atrocious service. Bread still brilliant.

24/03/2025: This is a regular neighborhood go-to for me. Their pastries and freshly baked bread is consistently delicious and flavorful, a safe choice if you’re craving a croissant or sourdough loaf. Their almond croissant is an absolute favorite, but some of their weekly/monthly limited items are high up there as well! Atmosphere is OK, it’s always super busy (typically a line outside the building) and fairly loud, so it’s not a pleasant place to sit down and enjoy, best for takeout IMO.

11/04/2025: Good Food but 40 minutes waiting time for a Hot Dog when there aren't even a lot of customers.

06/04/2025: Lots of hotdog and burger options for vegetarians too! Excellent burgers, even the meat ones! Options with just a sandwich or a full meal with chips and drink. There are a lot of chips! Full menu around €20

06/04/2025: All restaurants have gone up in price, but as I drink prosecco I was delighted to get a reasonably priced glass of prosecco in this restaurant. Cheaper than a glass of wine too so I was happy!

12/04/2025: I went here with friends for dinner. Very good food. Very expensive. I would have given 5 star for my main course, but starters could have been better and other main dishes were okayish. Deserts were very good. Waiter was very knowledgeable and made custom cocktail for me. Only downside was fire alarm was going on and off for really long time and was a bit irritating to sit for some time until they fixed it. The restaurant has nice ambiance with 2 floors and a pretty bar.

07/04/2025: We decided to give this place a try during our stay because of its convenience and after reading some decent reviews. Honestly, we really wish we didn’t have to write this, but our experience was far from great. The staff was friendly, though a bit young and inexperienced. With more confidence and experience, they could become more present and organized. At times, they seemed a bit unsure, and there was a lack of follow-up on our requests. As soon we got our dishes, they wrapped their service. We ordered a few burgers & sandwiches- which took about 40m to come and were not that great- but the real standout was my partner's club sandwich. It looked (and tasted) like they had run out of ingredients and decided to throw together whatever leftovers they had. It was so dry (I wish I could add the pictures) that it could make the Sahara desert look like a tropical island. I know food photos on social media are often designed to make dishes look appealing, but we just hope these pictures can offer a bit of a reality check to future customers. Honestly, I can’t believe this is being served connected to the Hilton name. It’s a bit shocking how something like this could be associated with a world-class brand.

15/03/2025: Half portions are now €14.50!! They were €11 a few months ago, upping there prices continually. The profit this place makes yet their car park is a disgrace. Not only is it pothole central but a complete hazard to enter and exit. Another pub, upping prices yet the service and food remains the same. It reminds me of blowing into a balloon 🎈 everywhere is getting more costly for no reason, the balloon will pop and pubs will lower their prices.

01/04/2025: I CANNOT recommend this place enough! Soups, tarts, scones, sweet treats take my tastebuds to heaven. Haven’t tried sandwiches and salads yet because I can’t make myself stop having soup and tart daily specials, but I’m sure they’re as amazing. Wonderful staff is just a cherry on top. 11/10

31/03/2025: Honey Truffle is one of the best cafes in Dublin! They offer a great selection of baked treats and sandwiches, plus the staff are always so lovely and welcoming! I come here almost every day for my morning coffee, can definitely recommend!

30/03/2025: Updating my original review just to say that I hope Quattro bring back the chips they used to do! I used to rave about how lovely Quattro chips are, but they seem to have changed to a different chip these past couple of years and they're just not nice at all. Pizzas still excellent and all of the other dishes I've tried are amazing too. Had the most divine pizza from this consistently excellent restaurant last night. We use it more as a takeaway but it's also a lovely restaurant if you prefer a night out. Great delivery times too and food is always hot. Love Quattro :) If you like goats cheese I recommend the Puck Fair pizza.

28/03/2025: If you're in Dublin and are missing Brazil, Tucano is a must-see! A simply incredible experience, with wonderful food and that homey feel in every sense. Each dish is made with care, full of flavor and tradition (during the month I spent in Dublin, I had lunch there almost every day), as if we were having lunch in Brazil. And the service? Amazing! Vitória was simply impeccable, she welcomed us with such warmth that she made us feel at home.

10/04/2025: Having heard good things about the new food menu in the Strand House we had to try it out. My companions both ordered a small portion of wings, 1 Buffalo and 1 BBQ. They came with the usual celery sticks and a ranch sauce and they were a huge success. Both options were really tasty. The Chile Beef Nachos that we shared between us were absolutely delicious and generous for a starter portion. One rib eye beef burger with chips completed our food order and it was excellent. A good juicy burger with tasty sauces and twice cooked chips. All washed down with a couple of pints of Guinness and a glass of cold Heineken we had a very enjoyable time in the Strand House. The service was excellent and Dave and his team made us feel very welcome. The rib eye steak special is a bargain at €22 and is definitely on the list to try next time. We will definitely be back to try more of the options on the food and drinks menus and hopefully next time I'll be able to order a Bloody Mary 😉
