The best restaurants in Dublin

25/10/2024: An unassuming coffee cart with nothing short of a spectacular view. Went on a Sunday after my son’s GAA match for a coffee and a pastry and it did not disappoint. A lovely American girl helped us and let us know about their new açai bowls. Let me tell you: CLASS! Best açai I’ve had in Dublin, not that manufactured Roots shite. Cannot recommend enough if you’re in the area.

02/11/2024: In Carrickmines shopping and stumbled on this place with my family. Had the burger and chips. V Rapid service and upbeat staff and manageress. Highly recommended

13/11/2024: Got an early check-in. Wonderfully helpful staff who checked us in. Very nice room and bathroom. Love this hotel.

09/11/2024: It's a really good hotel. Not too close to the city center, but it is a cozy and quiet neighborhood with everything needed.

30/10/2024: It used be really good when it newly opened up but has degraded way too much now! Bland biryani, absolutely no taste left. The veg biryani was literally only full of potatoes n not even enough rice!

29/10/2024: We got a biryani to share between two, portion size is huge! One of the best biryani’s I’ve had, lovely pleasant staff and overall great vibe.

15/09/2024: Pad Thai & crispy chilli chicken were great, fresh & really good. Delivery was quick. But the portion size of honey cashew nuts was outrageously small for the price. Crazy small portion! We definitely won’t be ordering those again.

22/10/2024: Still one of my all time favourites. This place delivers consistently good food and the staff are great. Any time I've been there it has been busy. Bar downstairs is staffed by real bar men who know their trade. John often says makes his way around the tables at the weekend too which is a nice touch. A must for a treat in my opinion.

15/10/2024: I’ve been dining at Shanahan’s for nearly 20 years, and it’s always been our “special place.” However, our recent visit was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. One of my friend’s steaks was overcooked, and when she politely mentioned it to the waiter, he was dismissive and handled the situation poorly. Although the steak was eventually replaced, the delay left her with cold sides and the rest of us had finished eating by the time it arrived. On top of this, we were rushed off our table, and after waiting ages for a cocktail that never came, the staff had an unprofessional exchange in front of us. Worse still, when we expressed our concerns, Mr. Shanahan himself confronted us aggressively, accusing us of “wanting a free dinner” in front of the entire restaurant. His behavior was intimidating, unprofessional, and left two of my friends in tears. We were so shaken that we left without finishing our meal. This was not the Shanahan’s service we’ve known and loved, and we left feeling horrified and deeply disappointed. This happened on 3/12/22 the experience was so horrific I’m now only able to do the review

12/06/2024: The food is unbelievable, highly recommended

09/06/2024: Starters and snacks were ok, didn’t impress because had exactly same dishes elsewhere (at least in two other restaurants!). Mains were good, seasonal, didn’t find white asparagus elsewhere in June. My partner had dessert but I did not bother to try. Good selection of alcohols but only one non alcoholic drink. All the food and restaurant design are eyes pleasing. Would come back again when I do not cherish my time as there was only one staff serving, everything slow. Take your time to enjoy the seasonal food and come with a pleasant company.

31/10/2024: This was the best meal we had in Ireland all week! Delicious, flavorful food. The lunch specials are a great value. I wish we had found this on day one of our trip.

26/10/2024: The food is so good! The jallab drink is amazing, and so is anything with their yogurt sauce. The staff is lovely and very professional. The decor is also really nice – they have some beautiful mosaics on the walls that I enjoyed looking at.

11/11/2024: Very busy on a Saturday lunchtime, we thought we were lucky to get a table. We were attracted in as I had a notion for seafood chowder, which was on the menu outside. What a disappointment! The worst chowder I have ever tasted. Dishwater thin with small scraps of vegetables floating in it, which made it even more like dishwater. Two miserable mussels, no other discernable fish, certainly not the advertised salmon. My wife had frito misto, a good bowl full in a nice crisp batter. However, there were just two small prawns, no whitebait and all the rest were calamari, my wife's least favourite. I regret not complaining at the time instead of just muttering "fine" when asked how it was. We couldn't wait to get away!
