17/01/2026: I used to order from 4Friends back when I worked in the city, back when it was a place you would actively recommend rather than quietly apologise for. I am now living on the other side of town, usually relying on Deliveroo to get my 4friends, and after a lot of travel I found myself back in the city centre this week. Feeling nostalgic and full of goodwill, I brought my girlfriend in, proudly talking it up like a man revisiting an old pub that once served the perfect pint. What I found instead was deeply depressing. The first thing you notice is not the smell of burgers or sizzling beef. It is grime. Tables smeared with old sauce, sticky to the touch, looking like they had lost a fight with a bottle of ketchup sometime last Tuesday and never recovered. The place felt tired, unloved, and frankly unclean. Then came the real horror. After eating, I went downstairs to the toilet and was greeted by a smell so aggressively sewage like that it should come with a warning sign and a hard hat. Sitting upstairs you are blissfully unaware, but once you know, you know. And it makes the idea of eating there again physically impossible. Now to the burgers. I ordered the Professor, a burger I once travelled for, a burger I spoke about with the reverence normally reserved for religious experiences. This version was a pale imitation. Somewhere along the way you have swapped out your beef supplier for something generic, bland, and utterly forgettable. The signature juiciness is gone. The flavour has packed its bags and left without saying goodbye. You can taste the cost cutting in every bite. My girlfriend’s reaction summed it up perfectly. One bite, a pause, and a polite “it’s just ok”. That silence was louder than any review I could write. While I was there, a delivery arrived from Sysco, which rather confirmed my suspicions. This is not progress. This is what happens when you start shaving quality to save a few bob. The place was empty, and that should worry you. I want you to be around. I want 4Friends to succeed. But you do not get there by serving burgers that could have come from anywhere. Behind the counter there were three staff members and a rotating cast of their mates coming in, laughing and joking, while tables sat uncleared and customers sat wondering why nobody cared. Basic stuff is being ignored. Cleaning tables. Keeping the place fresh. Making sure it does not smell like a blocked drain. This place used to be worth the journey. Now it feels like it is going to the dogs. Please go back to the original beef supplier. Please sort out the hygiene. Please fix that smell. Because cutting corners does not save you money in the long run. It just drives away the people who once loved you. Do better. With genuine affection from a once loyal customer.

10/01/2026: Loved this place but recently their portions have reduced (tapioca dice) by almost half and the price has increased. Understandable to have a small price increase but cutting the potion size that drastically was pretty disappointing as someone who has spent a good amount of money here over the years.

07/09/2025: This is such a great pub. Lots of music and laughter. We also had one of the best pizzas ever. Wish I had a better picture.

02/11/2025: We had breakfast at Foodgame today and were very satisfied overall. The food was really delicious – large portions, and we had bagels and eggs, among other things, exactly as we ordered. The ingredients seemed fresh, the coffee was excellent, and you can tell they place a lot of emphasis on homemade items. The only slight drawback was the noise level: it was quite loud in the café, which made a quiet conversation a bit difficult. Nevertheless, I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a good breakfast with plenty of choices and a big appetite.

28/10/2025: Staff so friendly to our kids. We love going there at the weekend. Breakfast burrito and avocado toast two highlights. They should sell their chipotle mayo!!!

18/01/2026: Attended for a work Christmas lunch and had a fantastic time. The food was absolutely delicious, cooked in front of us. Lots of interaction from the chef and a singsong at the end. The restaurant opened early to accommodate us which was really appreciated by us country folk having to travel a distance! Will definitely be back and would highly recommend, especially for groups. Staff were so attentive and friendly.

11/12/2025: Table was not ready for 15 minutes despite an online booking. The restaurant was very loud, with a food-making class happening right behind us. I got the salmon and it was fine but nothing to write home about and the portion was small. The service was excellent once we were seated.

11/12/2025: We had a corporate event and learnt how to make pizza. Everything from the organizing the event, to the actual event was superb. Great communication, and the host of the event was class. Thank you Pinocchio team!

17/01/2026: I came down from Belfast to try this place after some good reviews. The food is very well presented, portions are OK, can be a bit small for some. The service is OK, can afford to be a bit more attentive. Bathrooms are clean.

20/01/2026: This is a review of a Korean restaurant I bought with my own money. I was hoping it would be a hit, so I was planning to write sequential reviews after my trip, but I made an exception. If you're Korean, please visit this restaurant!!! I started feeling sick as soon as I arrived in Dublin, and I couldn't even eat a proper meal, which was so hard. But here, I had a hearty bibimbap and was so happy. It was the happiest moment I've had in Dublin. Actually, I was very selective when choosing it. I was determined to go to a Korean restaurant run by a Korean. It seemed like all the waiters were Korean, and I could order in Korean. I enjoy trying new restaurants, but after trying the bibimbap and liking it, I settled on this one. I've been recommending it to all my Korean friends like crazy. The week after the bibimbap, I visited again and had jeyuk (pork belly). Honestly, jeyuk (pork belly) tastes so different depending on who makes it, so I was hesitant to order it, but I was so glad I didn't waste any time debating. I'm a very picky eater and would rather starve than eat something tasteless, but it was so delicious that I had two bowls of rice. I asked if they could give me a little more rice, but they just gave me one... It's like this place is run by angels. I almost thanked them for their business as I left. And the portions are generous, enough to keep you full until dinner. I'm not sure if it's for adult men, but... I think the prices are reasonable. If you go for lunch, they give you a lunch menu, and I think the lunch menu is probably the cheapest. Bibimbap is 13 euros, and Jeyuk is 14 euros. Oh, and if you order bibimbap, they also give you miso soup (it's on the menu). I recommend it if you're craving soup. If you order the Hansang set (jeyuk, ttukbul, etc.), they give you kimchi as a side dish. It's delicious!! I tried to understand that there weren't any glass noodles in the ttukbul, but they did... I was so touched. Anyway, definitely go. If this store closes, Koreans living in Ireland will be unhappy. I'll go again this week if I can. I didn't receive any advertising fees, but I'd like to. I go there every day while I'm in Dublin. I haven't been there in the evening, so I don't know, but it seems like the bar is open from 5 PM.

19/01/2026: The service was amazing, absolutely zero complaints whatsoever. However, I ordered the Fettuccine ala Carbonara as I have in the past and I was very disappointed. Usually it’s my favourite thing on the menu but this particular time there was an undeniable metallic taste off the dish. I unfortunately couldn’t see past it. Again, service was phenomenal but the food left a lot to be desired.
