The best restaurants in Dublin

28/09/2026: Lovely place but not very helpful when I asked if I could charge my phone. So service is not above and beyond. Also being seated in a row of others just for aesthetics of the place I personally hate and found uncomfortable.

28/09/2026: ⭐ Extremely disappointing experience — Café en Seine My name is Priscilla N B, and I had a reservation at Café en Seine on Sunday, 27 September 2026, at 1:45pm, for a group of 10 women. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. When I made the booking four days in advance, I specifically requested a table close to the jazz area so that we could actually see and enjoy the performance. Despite this request, we were given the worst possible table for watching the jazz, meaning we could barely see anything. The venue's description stated that jazz would be available from 1pm to 4pm. However, the performance lasted only approximately 30 minutes, if even that. The musician also started late and played only around six songs. It was also not the jazz performance we were expecting — it was essentially one man playing the piano. The sound was very low, so we were unable to properly enjoy the music. The service was equally disappointing. Every single member of staff who served our group was rude, impatient and unhelpful. There was not one exception. For example, one of my friends politely asked what type of potato was included because the menu simply said “potato” and she wanted to know whether it was chips, wedges or another type. The staff member simply replied, “It’s potato,” in an extremely rude and dismissive manner. On another occasion, while we were discussing wine, another member of staff was extremely rude to one of my friends. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated incident — all of the staff members who dealt with our group were dismissive and appeared to be serving us with a very negative attitude. The food was also disappointing. I ordered Eggs Royale, which should have included a poached egg. When I cut into the egg, it was hard inside rather than poached. I have a video showing exactly how it was served. We were a group of 10 women and spent almost €500 during approximately two hours at the venue. We were actually looking for a place where our group could have a weekly girls' get-together, so this could have potentially become a regular booking for 10 customers. Unfortunately, after this experience, Café en Seine has lost our group as potential regular customers. The issue was not one isolated mistake. We experienced problems with the table allocation, the advertised jazz experience, the quality of the food and, most importantly, the attitude and service from every member of staff who dealt with us. For the amount of money we spent, we expected a completely different level of service and experience. Overall, an extremely disappointing experience, and unfortunately, we will not be returning. P.S. At 1:27pm, just 18 minutes before our 1:45pm reservation, I received a phone call informing me that we would not be given the table I had specifically requested near the jazz area. Given how close this call was to our reservation time, I honestly felt that the call was made more as a way for the venue to protect itself than as a genuine attempt to accommodate the customer's request. If I had been informed earlier, there would at least have been an opportunity to make alternative arrangements. Calling a customer only minutes before the reservation, after the request had been made four days in advance, felt extremely poorly organised and, unfortunately, added to the overall impression of poor communication and lack of consideration for the customer.

05/09/2026: Absolutely brilliant pub – easily one of our favourite places in Dublin! We came here after a very disappointing experience at another pub nearby, and The Crafty Fox completely turned the evening around. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the whole place has a really cool and unique interior. Great music, great vibe and just the kind of pub where you immediately feel comfortable. And on top of all that: a pint of Guinness for only €5! Probably one of the best-value pints we’ve found in Dublin so far. Amazing prices, brilliant staff, great atmosphere and a genuinely cool location. 10/10 – absolutely recommend this place and we’ll definitely be back! 🍺🇮🇪

28/09/2026: Watched Focus band here. The sound was amazing. Ambience was truly great. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Would recommend and will visit for future concerts.

13/09/2026: Had a great experience! The drinks were lovely and the service from Anna was fantastic. She was so friendly and attentive throughout, which made the experience even better. Would definitely recommend!

06/09/2026: We love going to Ely for breakfast, drinks and food, so it was really disappointing to witness the service yesterday. An elderly couple sitting outside were being looked after so kindly by Michelle — she turned on the heater and made sure they were comfortable. Erik then came out, turned the heater off, and when we asked for it to be turned back on because the couple were freezing, he refused and said, “Can’t you see I’ve just turned it off?” We explained again that they were cold and just needed a few minutes of heat, but he dismissed it, said “It’s not that cold, they shouldn’t be cold,” and walked away. He never returned, even after 25 minutes. His mannerisms and attitude towards the elderly couple were genuinely shocking. It felt rude, dismissive, and completely at odds with the warm service we’re used to at Ely. It’s a shame, because we really do love the place — but this experience left us very disappointed.

12/07/2026: We first picked it because it was near our hotel, but it quickly became our favorite hangout spot during our vacation. A very warm place with locals, away from the crowds and loud noise. Slainté!

13/09/2026: Great new addition to Dalkey! Popped in here with my partner and daughter this evening for a bite to eat. We had burgers, wings, chips and the youngest was delighted with the soft serve ice cream! Beautiful cocktail menu, lovely friendly atmosphere and attentive staff. A big step up from what it was before. Well done guys, look forward to coming back!

07/09/2026: We had our day 2 of our wedding here. Couldn't have enjoyed it more. The staff were fantastic, the food was beautiful and the atmosphere was amazing. Couldn't recommend it more. Thanks again to everyone for making our day extra special.

14/08/2026: Took payment online but the order didn't go through. We called and they said they were having problems with their online system, and told us to contact customer service. Their website wasn't working either so we cannot contact them and there is no phone number either. So we called the store back and they refuse to either make the pizza or give a refund. Make it make sense?

07/08/2026: Called in today to purchase a yellow rescue knife I saw on online, unfortunately they only had black on sale, I asked the chap in the shop if they had the yellow one, he went through the stock room and after much searching he found one for me, first class service and a good range of products.

17/09/2026: Great small town pub. We were there with a wedding party so it was rocking. Live music too. A bit loud but fun.

20/09/2026: It was our first ever trip to Ireland and this was the highlight of our trip. The people who work here are so incredibly lovely. We felt like in a home away from home. And the food was great too!

29/08/2026: Avocado toast with a tiny bit of avocado, cold poached eggs, cold haloumi - very disappointed for a first time experience. My partner had a sandwich with uncooked and chewy pieces of chicken thigh, which was unpleasant and morever, made him feel like having a food poisoning afterwards. He ate just half. The high review made us try the place. The unproper cooking and unfriendly staff (who looked angry because we didn't tip) made us never come back.

22/08/2026: Extremely shocked that this plate of nachos was allowed to leave the kitchen…. This was literally a bunch of freezing cold, slop piled ingredient after ingredient…. It was so unbelievably bland and tasteless with no spices or seasoning to the point where the jalapeños which are supposed to be spicy and kick you in the face tasted like cucumber slices.
