27/06/2025: Pleasant layout above the pub, so you can have a drink before or after your meal. Our party of five can heartily recommend the specials at 35 euros for three courses, the fish dishes in particular were excellent. Service was very good. Interestingly, there were no condiments on the table, perhaps it's a culinary statement but as the seasoning was good there was no issue. Reasonable wine list. Definitely worth a visit.

27/06/2025: Laurel in Blackrock is a fantastic restaurant tucked away above the pub—a real hidden gem. The food is absolutely amazing, beautifully presented on elegant plates that make the whole experience feel special. Every dish was full of flavor and clearly made with care. The atmosphere upstairs is stylish and relaxed, perfect for a nice evening out. The only downside is the music, which comes from the pub below and doesn’t quite match the refined setting of the restaurant. Still, the quality of the food more than makes up for it. Definitely worth a visit!

08/09/2025: The barman is as thick as two planks. I asked could I charge my phone and he sent me around the shop to buy a plug. I did that and he plugged it in. I then went outside and crossed the road because my crippled friend was in the park and he followed me with the phone and the charger to give it back, instead of just leaving it to charge. Couldn't just say "No, we don't charge phones". Couldn't just leave it for a minute after plugging it in. It was very clear I just needed to charge the phone. I bought a pint of Guinness to keep them happy. Just either unintelligent or ignorant. Probably a mixture of both. Just say no and I would have asked in the South Strand next door. Smarter barmen in there.

25/03/2026: Great atmosphere. Shay is a very unique person, but when you're inside you feel like you're in another world. The pool table here is highly recommended, but you can also have a chat with friends. Great beer.

13/02/2026: I found a mysterious bar near my hotel. I googled it and found out it's a popular bar among celebrities. I was a little worried, but I mustered up the courage to go inside. I politely greeted the owner in Japanese and he let me in. Apparently his son lives in Tokyo. The photo of the owner and the celebrity together inside was amazing. Thank you very much. I'd like to visit again.

20/05/2025: Second time having my son’s birthday here, unfortunately I won’t be booking again. The man at reception was so lovely and helpful! But after that it went down hill, the party “host” was on his phone leaning against the wall while kids played bubble football for the full 45 mins. The only time he lifted his head off his phone was to help a child that called him to help with the bubble. I went back into the man In reception and asked was the hosting to do any games with the kids, after this he went out to talk to him . After that the “host” took all the lads to the party room, came back with food and then left. The staff in the bar and the man in reception were so lovely and helpful, but the party “host” had no interest to be there, let alone the party host. Please give the kids that are there for a party, your time and attention.

21/03/2026: Best french toast Ive ever had. Order the pecan butter + banana french toast. It was so good. I also had the waffles but the french toast hands down was the winner dish for me. The service was quick & friendly.

07/01/2026: If you're Brazilian, you'll love it! The reception and kitchen staff are all Brazilian. I loved that they gave Brazilians the opportunity to work, and when they meet us, the way they welcome us is amazing! I loved it!

We came to this pub because of the reviews for how great he was and they absolutely did not disappoint. We were only in Dublin for 3 days but we managed to visit this pub 2/3 days due to his kindness. We wish him and his wife the absolute best in life as they are so deserving ❤️

30/03/2026: The staff were friendly, they placed my dates flowers in a vase. The food was delicious, there wasn't a long wait between courses.

27/03/2026: Very poor experience we had food and service was equally as poor. There was a woman on her phone sat at a table which turned out to be the waitress. When we finally got served despite it being practically empty, the food that came out was awful. Side salad that was brown! Meat that ought to have been medium rear came out burnt! On a slightly positive note the pizza was average that said €26 for a pizza i would say it was expensive. Wouldn't advise visiting!
