The Bretzel Bakery & Cafe

26/03/2025: I've been buying the berry cake from this bakery for at least seven years, and it used to be one of my favorites. Unfortunately, the quality has noticeably declined. There are barely any berries in the cake now, and the dough isn't as soft as it used to be. It’s disappointing to see such a great product change for the worse. I really hope they bring back the original quality because this used to be one of the best cakes around.
24/03/2025: had wanted to try this spot for ages. It was Saturday morning and it was quiet yet two tables outside were covered in rubbish from the last customer and not cleaned up. The people who sat down at the next table also had to clear their table. no excuse for this. The almond croissant for €4 was a let down. one of our coffees was wrong. anyway we won't return.

29/03/2025: It's small little place with few tables. I tried their Cappuccino and White Chocolate Matcha hot drink and loved both of them. I tried Healthy Banan Bread which was make from Almond floor and Pecans but I felt it was okaish. They have a standard set of coffes plus a few specials. They have a variety of chocolates and Acai Bowls. They also have some pastries. I would try more stuff from here on my next visit.

This Must Be The Place

03/03/2025: We thought we'd try something new and book the clay making class via the website. We booked as a couple which cost around €26 each. When we arrived at the building it wasn't clear where it actually was, we finally found a sign saying 'This must be the place' on one of the windows of the second level of the buildings. Once inside we were greeted by Roberta who was very warm and welcoming. We sat down in a group of 8 on two tables, Roberta then introduced the company and herself. We then began moulding clay and it was really fun! Roberta made sure we had enough biscuits, coffee and tea. I would recommend this experience to other people as I think it's a nice creative space to do something different.

I’ve visited a few times out of pure convenience. Please employee some real bar staff who care about the bar and want to see it succeed. Never seems to be anyone in charge.

15/04/2025: Great burger last Tuesday. Now...chips are normally amazing and hot and fresh but last Tuesday ye chips I got had clearly been lying around and only warm when received. Not good at all. It's the first and only time out of many that this has happened so I hope they stick to serving freshly fried chips.
02/04/2025: Hungry, passing Casanova in Rathfarnham! Asked sweet young lady serving for bag of chips!Hand on heart, the best Chips I ever bought! Hot! Crispy! Large portion! Discovered...wallet at home. Young Lady "pay when you're passing" ! only left out 5th STAR ...??? really 4.6 !!

02/04/2025: I visited Lockandbrew for a breakfast at the weekend with friends. The staff are friendly, we didn't have to wait for a table. The place was spotless, including the toilets. I asked for a 5 egg omelette made of 2 whole and 3 egg whites with spinach, onion, and peppers and it was no problem at all. I recommend eating here if you are training and want to eat out as a treat and still be on plan. I will definitely return.
