The best restaurants in Dublin

18/02/2025: a delicious and delightful new find in dublin for me! i treated myself to a lemon & cinnamon roll with pecans sprinkled on top and a hot cup of americano. the pastry was soft, pillowy and sweet – pricing was reasonable unlike other bakeries! €2.80 per pastry w a deal if you get a hot drink too!

28/11/2024: One of the best sandwich spots of Dublin (or perhaps Ireland). Good coffee too. There's no seating so ideal for office lunch or eating in the park.

27/03/2025: Food makes people happy, the food here is generally really tasty. The fried chicken is the best part of the menu. Also recommend the Honeydew milk tea. Location is excellent too.

10/04/2025: Service was extremely slow. Food served all at different times, I had my main course and my other two family members waited an additional 30 minutes for their pizzas. Not the fault of the wait staff they were rushed off their feet with large groups but overall totally unacceptable - nearly two hours to get through just starters and main course. When the food came it was mediocre - family said pizzas weren't too bad but the goujons I had were nothing special and the garlic cheese fries weren't good. Disappointing!

06/04/2025: Great place for a quick breakfast. The breakfast buttie was delicious and filling. I'm not one for these type of breakfast, but the combination of the sausage, egg and some delicious onion gem took me by surprise. I recommend that you give it a try! Also the pancakes with eggs and bacon were nice. You get a bottle of meppel syrup on the table with them. And if you get breakfast and a normal cappuccino , they make it large for your for free.

22/02/2025: I recently called in for a takeaway. The food is always amazing with generous size portions. However, while I was sitting in reception, a waiter came from the upstairs restaurant to make a cocktail. He made the cocktail and poured the cocktail into a glass, and what didn't fit in the glass he drank himself!!! Needless to say, I was quite shocked.... Disappointing, and extremely unprofessional, and an accident waiting to happen!!!!

09/02/2025: We booked an early evening meal and the restaurant was already busy with a great atmosphere. Rachel was our waitress, and she is super friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable about the food. We shared our starters of pork,satay chicken, and spring rolls. All were delicious. We had a bottle of malbec which complimented our mains. We highly recommend this outstanding restaurant.

21/03/2025: Best evening drinks & vibe in Ranelagh. Bar none. Music choice is class, atmosphere is perfect— just love it.

16/03/2025: Good cocktails! The burger is good as well. The atmosphere is pleasant. The sandwich was not great. There was no live music.

13/03/2025: Terrible experience at this cafe. Bald male worker made me feel extremely uncomfortable as he stared and my chest and then proceeded to wink at me. Felt unsafe - women avoid.

16/04/2025: Bonito lugar peculiar para café y pastel si quieres una cafetería independiente. Pastel de zanahoria era fabuloso - el café podría haber sido un poco más fuerte para mí, pero a todos los demás en mi familia les encantó - puedo ser un poco quisquilloso!

21/04/2025: Atmosphere in here was really good! Live music, dancing and good drinks. -1 star as we requested Gerry Cinnamon and the band said they’d play it and never did. Can get quite crowded and not a lot of seating though. Toilets also weren’t the cleanest despite a lady being employed to sell stuff and work in there.

01/04/2025: I honestly wish I could give more stars. Tonight is the last night of vacation with my family and we scoured the internet looking for a place to have our last dinner. We are pretty obsessed with a tapas restaurant back home in Chicago, and looking at the menu and reviews we chose The Port House, Cava. Walking in it literally felt as if we walked into one of our own family members homes. There were a man and woman working (forgive me, I don't remember thier names) and they were so warm and friendly welcoming us in. We're traveling with our 8 month old and the man instantly brought over a high chair and helped my son into it, and even helped buckle him in. This has never happened in any other restaurant. High chairs yes but never have we had anyone so carefully assist our son into the high chair and make sure he was safely secured. We exchanged some small talk, he was amazing with my son (the entire evening) and both he and his co worker could not have been friendlier or more attentive to everyone dining. I am not exaggerating when I say it was like being in a family members home for dinner. And the tapas. Wow. Absolutely incredible. We ordered 6 tapas dishes and even the asparagus was perfection. Throughout our dinner I watched the restaurant grow busier yet the two working the front never wavered on thier hospitality even though they were both working thier tails off. Everything was utterly delicious (I highly recommend the grilled octopus) and my wife and I raved about the experience the entire way back to where we are staying. Even the ambiance of the restaurant is calming and welcoming which says a lot being on a busy city street. This is our second time in Ireland and if I had to recommend one place to definitely go check out it would be this one. Phenomenal food, great prices, incredible service. There is not one single negative thing I could say about the entire dinner. Thank you to the staff for making our last night in Ireland incredibly special.

01/04/2025: Our group of 7 had a great bottomless brunch on a Sunday. Food was tasty, sangria was delicious & the restaurant was surprisingly quiet. Interior is lovely. You'll need to walk some stairs for the toilet.

14/02/2025: Went here for my mother's birthday. She had the beetroot and goats cheese salad and I had the roasted pork belly. Both were delicious. Currently the dining is strictly outdoors and they are not serving indoors. The positive consequence of this is that you can book one of their backyard patio tables and come in for a meal without having a covid certificate — you are still required to provide contact details for contact tracing purposes however. All in all, including deserts and a few drinks, the meal cost around €70 plus tip. Kelly and Coopers has gotten more expensive since the pandemic, but the food on offer is quite good and the ambiance is very pleasant — at least now while the weather is warm enough to be dining outside. One criticism of the offering is that their food menu doesn't boast a huge selection, and is not particularly vegetarian friendly. Sometime later and Kelly & Cooper's is unchanged. I didn't eat in, but from what I saw the quality of food was still solid. I had Open Gate IPA which is a new addition, and a good one. So the beer menu while small for draft options, is interesting and frequently updated. As for service, you're going to get a mix. The back of house and some of the bar staff are naturally not great at customer service, but they do try. The front of house staff are fast, professional, and friendly. All around, good experience, possibly improved since last time. There seemed to be a stronger sense of teamwork this time which showed in the overall delivery of service. ____________________________________________ Update 14 February 2025. Went here for Valentine's Day with my mother. Service from Joanne and Diane was exceptional. Very friendly and efficient. Food was delicious and the ambience was great. The drinks were very satisfying as well. Overall I would wholeheartedly recommend stopping by Kelly & Cooper's in Blackrock for drinks or. A meal. PS: they also have good wifi, just ask one of the staff for the password and you're all set.

15/02/2025: I never normally post bad reviews, but the service here was absolutely dreadful. Attended on Valentines day, service was inattentive, very slow and uncoordinated. Waited an hour and 20 minutes to receive the main after the starter. Food was below average for the price point. Additionally, one of the plastic table flowers on an unattended table caught fire during our meal and took the waiting staff over 20 seconds to notice the blaze, pretty unsafe!
