03/06/2026: I'm deeply saddened by the news of the Betsy's closure, swords mainstreet won't be the same without it.

25/05/2026: We booked our engagement party at The Betsy in Swords and unfortunately the entire experience was stressful from beginning to end. When we first visited the venue, the manager clearly told us that we could bring decorations, sweets and even a few bottles of prosecco for a toast. However, when I later emailed to confirm everything in writing, Caroline replied saying that prosecco was not allowed and that parts of our decoration setup were also not allowed. We returned to the venue to clarify things and honestly, that should have been the moment we cancelled. The same manager became extremely passive aggressive and unhelpful. Unfortunately, invitations had already been sent and we were already under pressure trying to organise everything, so we just accepted the changes and moved forward after finally getting approval for our save-the-date decoration setup. Sadly, the actual party was even worse. We booked “Betsy Below” because we were specifically told there would be background music until the DJ arrived later, which sounded perfect for an engagement party where people could eat, talk and socialise comfortably. Instead, when we arrived at 7:10pm, the music was unbelievably loud — louder than many nightclubs. Nobody could properly speak to each other. We had around 70 guests sharing the space with another smaller party, and many people were visibly uncomfortable because of the volume. I politely asked the barman if the music could be lowered slightly just until the food service or DJ started. His response was incredibly rude. He refused immediately and said, “This is not a private party.” That response was unnecessary and unprofessional, especially considering that the majority of people in that area were our guests. To make things worse, none of the decorations or sweets had been set up, despite being told beforehand that the staff would handle the setup if we delivered everything earlier in the day. When we arrived, everything was still sitting inside boxes. Overall, the customer service was honestly shocking: poor communication, rude staff, lack of organisation and zero care for the client experience. Do not be fooled by how aesthetically nice the venue looks online or in person. The venue may look beautiful, but when it comes to customer care, professionalism and organisation, the experience was extremely disappointing. If you are planning any important event there, make sure EVERYTHING is confirmed in writing beforehand

29/07/2026: The best place to get pizza but sadly they don't deliver to lusk so I normally get pizza max in rush but papa johns probably be my number 1 I love the pizza there and friendly staff

15/10/2026: Disappointed to be charged €3.75 for a HB Brunch on October 14 2026. This is an excessive price and clearly a rip off. There were no prices at the fridge either which I should point out. This is gouging the public and I will not return there for petrol or any other conveniences. RIP OFF CENTRAL, BEWARE!!!!!!

06/10/2026: Very busy most of the time, which is not surprising given the coffee. Sometimes the tables can be very slow to be cleared. and occasionally cleareds. However it can be a bit hit or miss. Not withstanding all that, we go here almost every day and enjoy it. Still a must visit everyday. Despite that over the last few days the coffee has nor been up to usual standards.

Everyone is incredibly kind and welcoming, which means the world to me—especially when I ask for a little milk for my daughter and they always serve it with a smile. The manager, Melita, is absolutely wonderful. She is deeply caring, highly professional, and works so hard to make sure everything is perfect. Her dedication and warm heart truly make this place feel like home. I highly recommend this coffee shop to everyone!"🫶🏻

02/10/2026: Just ordered the Doner Kebab Tray and Mixed Kebab Tray from Super Kebabish, and honestly, everything was SO good! The portions were massive and they were incredibly generous with the meat. Everything was fresh, tasty and full of flavour. We were very happy with our meal and definitely got our money’s worth. A special thank you to Sam for the great service Really appreciate it! Definitely one of the best kebab places in town. Highly recommended!

19/10/2026: We really do not understand some of the reviews. We received very ordinary western style chinese food indistinguishable from numerous other similar establishments. There are much better Asian restaurants, including Chinese, across the Dublin area and including in Malahide. This came with unfriendly service. Cannot recommend, other than avoid, and if you really think this is good cuisine, you probably need to get out and about more often. ** Since I cannot reply, I append. The comment is not baseless -- there is no way to defend the food we were served as either authentic chinese food or for that matter anything above average. We received very much the same sort of westernized chinese food that one can get anywhere and, frankly, can cook at home. My commentary is not a slag at staff, and indeed, the tastes may suit many Irish palates (after all, all inclusives in the Algarve and the Canaries remain adventurous travel to many). So, here's an interesting question that one can tease out from your emotional response: would your staff, especially your cooks, eat what they are serving? My guess is no. And here's a great idea: greet customers kindly at the door and don't assume they want want generic westernized Chinese food, which almost always comes with overly sweet, gloopy corn-starch tinged sauce, either dumped on top or on the side. Now place a card in the menu that shares, in English, a bit of the background and that there are a wide range of cuisines across China, but much of this not realized, but we can make authentic Chinese dishes that, when served in China from our region, taste amazing. Would be great to find a Chinese restaurant anywhere on the north side that actually serves excellent authentic Chinese food.

12/10/2026: Great food. Unfortunately it can be quite cold here when there is a breeze coming in the door. Staff are friendly and the food is excellent.

25/09/2026: This place has gone downhill massively over the past year. Definitely my last time here. The staff seem completely careless. Even the 99s are a joke. tiny scoop of ice cream with a flake almost as big as it. Almost €3 for that is ridiculous. Standards have seriously gone downhill.

03/06/2026: A review in 2 parts! The chocolates: Always delicious and always appreciated by whoever the lucky person is to be receiving them. Fantastic luxury chocolates that are family run and operated on every level. If you are looking for true authentic Irish handmade chocolate, look no further! The cafe: Like the chocolates, completely family run and operated - service is always beyond exceptional and the food is fantastic. Great spot to call into - highly recommend!

03/06/2026: I bought the Favourites Box from their website and loved the chocolates inside. The products were delicious and beautifully presented. I'll definitely be ordering again in the future, especially as gifts. Highly recommend!
