27/10/2024: Only word for this place is exceptional. The setting, food, staff. And…. the value for money 👌🏻👌🏻 It’s unusual to come away from a restaurant in Ireland these days genuinely feeling you had a great experience, without having to spend a fortune. But the Black Pig has nailed this. Can’t wait till I’m in Kinsale again. Thanks for taking care of us!

20/10/2024: Dropped in late (9.30pm) for a few glasses of wine and a plate of oysters. A great selection of wines and we weren't disappointed by our choices. Had a dozen oysters that were fresh and delicious.

25/10/2024: If I could give 100 stars I would. The best breakfast we had on our two week holiday across Ireland and England. Also the best breakfast sandwich I've had in general. The vanilla and cardamom latte was heavenly. The staff were the kindest people. If I lived in Kinsale I would be there at least once a week.

26/10/2024: Beautiful restaurant in a beautiful walkable town. Staff is friendly and attentive and food options are plentiful, even for children. The Pad Thai and Chicken Curry with rice were phenomenal. Lots of seating available on 2 floors. The fish in the Fish & Chips is a good size and prepared as a flat filet in, maybe, a panko coating as opposed to battered. Wasn’t what I expected so sharing it here.

13/11/2024: Had dinner here recently and while I did really enjoy the food I wouldn’t say it was anything to write home about! I had the monkfish special and it was very good although very rich. We also had the hake which was nice. Cocktails were just fine but then I did overhear that the cocktail barman was off that night so perhaps we were unlucky. The service was as we have grown to expect in Ireland lately, fine. After spending €150 I’m not sure I could say it was worth it.

28/10/2024: We have always loved this restaurant in the heart of Kinsale but didn’t know one very important detail. It is very unusual for a chef and kitchen to make every single item on the menu from scratch. This happens in this restaurant. Tom & Grannia are running a very friendly restaurant with superb food and a great cocktail bar. Our favourites are the fish “specials” but my partner always returns to the slow cooked short rib of beef and the fabulous chicken wings. Every man’s idea of heaven!! All the dishes are great and we all Love the crème caramel brûlée and the flourless chocolate cake. Decor is cosy but modern and staff so friendly and helpful. A must when in Kinsale (and no freezer friendly quick dishes here).

15/10/2024: Scannell's is an absolute gem. Wide choice of really tasty, well prepared food, friendly efficient staff. The place is really well run. I highly recommend and no doubt they will see me yet again.

06/09/2024: Cracking wee pub and a lovely pint of Guinness. I met a really nice American chap that's lived in Clon for a number of years, his name was Daryl. If you ever see this, it was a pleasure meeting you. I'm the biker from Derry :)

03/11/2024: As a visiting tourist, we enjoyed a very solid lunch here. Seems like a popular spot for locals. Good food, service and atmosphere.

12/11/2024: Special place for a special occasion.. Really great place here , top class in every way , great food , great service and fantastic location ( ask for a table in the courtyard) .. a little bit more expensive than most but well worth it .. Cheers 🥂

03/11/2024: Went here to celebrate engagement with our extended family. Food was really nice but the service was very poor. Attitude of the waitress was very bad and felt we were inconveniencing her throughout the whole evening. Had to go to the main bar to ask for drinks because no one was coming to our table. Starters came out for half of our party and by the time we had finished it, the remaining starters came . Ordered sticky toffee pudding and mine was cold while others were warm. Ordered soup and garlic bread for a child and only the garlic bread came.

24/10/2024: Lovely find. Great menu, plenty of choice. Very friendly staff, couldn’t be nicer. Cater for gluten free/coeliac. Service was really quick.

02/11/2024: We had an excellent meal, Scallops excellently cooked Pate excellent Monkfish so perfect Featherblade slow cooked perfect Not to mention the great staff that made the Evening lovely Keep doing what you do brilliantly ✔️

07/10/2024: Lovely meal on Friday evening, staff were friendly and food was delicious with clever use of local whiskey influences in their dishes. Restaurant was quite noisy but signs of everyone enjoying themselves. Staff apologised for noise which was out of their control

12/10/2024: Unfortunately it was closed. But the views outside are amazing.

28/09/2024: We were very lucky to be able to eat at this restaurant! Simply a dream. From the perfectly fried hake in butter to the tasty vegetables and the fantastic mashed potatoes to the cleverly seasoned calamari, it's an excellent meal. In addition, the owner and the rest of the staff are so genuinely courteous that you really feel welcome. Please don't change anything and keep it up. For that reason alone, Ireland is worth a trip!

17/10/2024: What an experience from the moment we walked in the door the front of staff where very friendly and welcoming they explained everything to us on the menu and where very knowledgeable on the wine selection. From the first plate to the last the flavours where exceptional and presentation was exquisite.

05/10/2024: First class food and service. Great tasting menu. Extremely welcoming and engaging service from the brilliant Australian waitress. Food was amazing. The tomato dish and the languistine were out of this world. The cured meats were top class and so full of flavour. Thoroughly recommend

28/09/2024: Famous music venue in middle of Clonakilty town Only visited in day so didn’t catch any music Nice place inside very atmospheric and dark with lots of music memrobilia from artists who have played Including Noel Reddings bass of Jimi Hendrix experience from when he lived in clonakilty and played here regularly Worth a stop off for anyone interested in music

17/09/2024: Just finished a delicious yummy breakfast in An Chístín Beag. The staff were so lovely (especially lady with dark hair - she mentioned she had a son). She was so kind with our nearly 2 yr old Hubby had the full Irish which he loved, myself and little one had pancakes which were amazing. Portion is 3 decent size but for child they can do 1, 2 or 3 depending on child's appetite. The banana and Nutella ones went down well with our little one. If in Skibbereen or close by def worth a visit - they also do lunches too
