The best restaurantsof irish in Dublin

14/09/2025: First of all, I should say that the overall experience was fantastic and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in the market for something like it. I'd describe what "it" is as a budget friendly fine dining experience. From the amuse bouche to the desert each course was designed with clear intent and a high level of craftsmanship. However, this also makes me judge the food to a much higher standard than I would in a casual dining restaurant. This leads me to explaining why I deducted one star from the "food" category - there were a few small issues. The chestnut mousse had a little bit of grittiness to it and the rum truffle just felt superfluous in this dish, nevertheless I would 100% order it again. The caramel crust on the apple cake a burnt in one place leaving a single bite of it unpleasantly bitter, probably not a recurring issue given that it was a small bit on one of the two cakes at the table. Lastly the flavours in the hazelnut gnocchi could have been a bit more intense (especially the hazelnut) and the crumble crunchier and crumblier, as is it was better described as "hard", but not to the point of being genuinely problematic. Everything else about the dishes we tried was utterly perfect. So were the drinks and the staff. Genuinely a very nice restaurant. I wouldn't be all that surprised if Glas found its way back into the guide eventually. Note: make sure to book your table early

08/09/2025: Beautiful high end vegetarian restaurant. Lovely inside and very warm and attentive service. Good selection of dishes, lunch is great value, a little bread would be nice as my only observation. Excellent desserts too.

04/10/2025: The staff are on point. It is very up market, intimidating for some, but the amazing staff make you feel like you're very welcome. Higly commendable. This great service is reflected in the price. But I include a photo of the pint of Guinness that we were served. It's honestly unforgivable, and, any other pint would've gone noticed. But we're in D2, this is Dublin, the home of Guinness, the upper end, this is the best.. but this is what we were served..

20/09/2025: We had a nice evening at The Saddleroom. The front areas of the restaurant are creatively decorated and very inviting, but the main dining room where we were seated lacked character by comparison. The private room next door also had a much warmer, more charming atmosphere. We started with two appetizers—the quail and the scallops—which were good but not great. The main dishes, however, really stood out. My husband ordered the center-cut filet, perfectly cooked and served with a flavorful sauce, tender mushrooms, and potatoes. I had the fish, which came in a creamy, unforgettable butter and leek sauce with perfectly cooked shrimp. Both entrées were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious.

07/10/2025: the inside is very pretty and overlooks the river! i went in as part of a small group of 3. we did not have a good experience.. :/ we wanted to order some of the desserts offered as we did not want full meals, and were told "this is a restaurant, you should order food." i found this baffling, but we ordered 3 different appetizers and were met with just overall... mid food. i ordered the side salad, and my companions ordered the crisps and the croquettes to share. the side salad included very very bitter leafy greens with a light lemon dressing (which was the only redeeming part of the dish) we declined to order dessert afterwards, the service was hardly friendly or "accommodating." not worth the price :////

04/10/2025: Service was via the invisible waitress. The manager couldn't care less. He was most concerned with informing me that they had no Guinness. I had the lamb that was tasty but extremely hard to chew.

15/09/2025: Fantastic pub had the best pint of Guinness in here better then the Guinness store full of locals definitely worth a visit

13/09/2025: American party over here! We loved it. Great food, the employees were great and answered all of our dumb questions with a smile, and of course a perfect place for a Guinness. Highly recommend.

09/09/2025: Beautiful old pub, over 150 years old. What a nice discovery. Beautiful dark atmosphere inside, wood paneling, old pictures hanging on the walls, very comfortable tables and seats. One of the best pints of Beamish in the city and some great service from the staff. Nice and quiet on a Sunday evening. Highly recommended.

18/09/2025: Great stay, staff attentive and friendly. Very spacious and comfortable room, nicely appointed, and some personal touches like a handwritten welcome letter from the hotel manager were appreciated. Fantastic shower! Good central location to the Temple Bar area if you are going for tourism, but tucked away on a quieter street. The rest of Dublin is easily accessible walking or via public transport. 07/09/2025: Went for lunch on the weekend and they had a decent selection of food for the day such as beef turkey bacon but also vegetarian options. Interior and atmosphere was also great!

28/09/2025: Stopped in for a pint and to hang a FD patch. Staff were great and made me take a selfie with it.

20/09/2025: Unfortunately not the experience we were after from a self proclaimed Michelin guide restaurant The food isn't bad and the food concept is interesting and commendable Staff was polite Sadly the service wasn't up to standards. We ordered two starters plus bread (so three appetizer orders) and one of the two starters was missed. It took about 50' to get served the mains after the starters so by that time we weren't hungry anymore We ordered two mains and one side to share (potatoes) and we were brought cabbage instead Essentially, if waiters are unable to remember simple orders (we didn't make any special requests) I'm unsure why they don't write things down but instead try to memorise At the end we had to ask three different waiters to finally get brought the bill €130 for two people, a bit too much... Considering we took one beer each to drink, one side to share (wrong) and one slice of cheesecake to share (€12, served in a little jar and was essentially some whipped cream with a layer of jam on top) The restaurant has potential, but currently unexploited. Goes without saying that as of now I wouldn't recommend

19/09/2025: The best lamb I've ever had served with outstanding roasted potatoes. My desert was delightful. All in all, a very delicious meal. I highly recommend this unassuming restaurant.
