02/10/2025: Hands down the best fish and chips I've ever had. The portions are huge! And it was a real piece of flaky tasty fish - not just a flat piece of deep fried batter. If you're in Dublin - go here!

30/08/2025: This place is like an oasis in the desert. You don't really expect to see such a spacious and cosy place when you look at it from the outside. Very nice indoor and outdoor seating available along with nice food and drinks. Quite easy to be a regular if you are living in the neighborhood.

25/08/2025: Hi guys, myself and my friend from London were in the garden room just before we were going to the airport and our wonderful waiter, his name was Mark heard we were flying to London and brought us out a “safe travels” complimentary dessert plate! We were so happy and surprised and it really made the experience special. Was so lovely to see such a kind, patient, young gentleman working in the garden room and we hope to be back soon.

07/10/2025: While I was in Dublin, The Brazen Head, right next door, was always bustling, so I mostly drank there. They had a wide selection of drinks, and although I wasn't full, the food looked great. One of the staff members was a Japanese working holiday maker, and we chatted for a while, which made for some great memories. + They also had live music on certain days, which was fun.

15/09/2025: We hosted a hen party here on Saturday for 21 ladies, and it could not have gone better! The team were incredibly accommodating – they allowed us to set up our own decorations and food, and were so helpful with everything from start to finish. We had corkage on some bottles of prosecco for a welcome drink, and the staff went above and beyond making sure everyone’s glasses were always topped up, even when we moved up to the top deck. As we essentially ran an open bar with drink tokens for guests, it was great to see how respectful and honest the staff were – they made everything so easy for us and didn’t take advantage in any way. Another lovely touch was being able to connect our phones via Bluetooth for music, which meant we could play our own playlist on deck and set the perfect atmosphere. The whole experience was honestly the highlight of the day, and all of our guests had an absolute ball. Thank you so much to everyone at the Dublin Canal Boat Restaurant for helping us create such a memorable start to our hen celebrations!

18/09/2025: Sandra was prompt at seating us where we liked, taking our order and serving our drinks and snacks. Very friendly and we laughed about people. Other waiters were extremely helpful and prompt. This is the place to go to feel the Dublin hospitality! Awesome live music! You won’t want to miss out.

14/09/2025: Seafood was disappointing given all the raving reviews !! Oyster were average and small sized (3 each) ! Fish was overcooked. Linguine was nothing special. I will go to Seafood Cafe over this any day :-)

23/09/2025: I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. I booked a table and my calendar clearly showed the reservation at 5:15. I arrived a little early, at 5:00, but the staff told me my booking was at 4:00 and that 5:15 was actually the leaving time. That made no sense and stupid because no one should put leaving time in the boo king to make guest confused. To make matters worse, they told me they had tried to call me, but when I explained I hadn’t received any call, the staff changed the story and said my number was too complicated to dial. During this whole time, the restaurant had around nine empty seats, yet they still refused to let me stay and insisted that I leave. This is not the first time — just two days ago, I also came spontaneously when the restaurant was nearly empty, and they still refused to serve me. At first, I thought it might have been a misunderstanding of reservations , but after this second incident, it feels much more like discrimination, especially since I am Asian. There is no reason why a paying customer with a confirmed booking should be treated this way. It was disrespectful, unprofessional, and left me feeling unwelcome. Update : After being turned away, I went to a nearby tapas restaurant. Even though they were busy, they welcomed me warmly without a booking with Irish hospitality, treated me like family, and even introduced me to great food. Most importantly, they respected me. I am more than willing to pay a lot for good food and good service and this fish shop lost more than 100 euro for the weird system but I guess the staff there did not care much and the owner also. In conclusion, if you are looking for something authentic with a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere, this place is ABSOLUTELY NOT the right option.
