23/07/2025: Lovely bar with a huge beer garden, the staff are lovely and there’s a great selection of drinks (not just beer, lots of different ciders and hard seltzers too)

25/07/2025: Buzzing place in South Dublin. Extensive menu, something for everyone. Nice staff, very welcoming. Runs a thin line between pub and restaurant but I think that they get it right. I wish them well. Gig venue upstairs as well so it’s got it all

18/07/2025: Just finished eating dinner in The Purty Kitchen. Firstly top marks to Ailish for excellent service and customer connection. Sadly we did not feel the same with regards to the food. The fish and chips were just ok but it was the Tofu burger that really made me write this review. It just didn't work at all. Maybe if the tofu was served on a flatbread and the avocado served sliced it might have been better. I'm a long term vegetarian and really look forward to eating out but on this occasion I was disappointed with my dinner. We also had the strawberry dessert which once again was overly complicated . We love the setting and atmosphere of The Purty Kitchen and it's lovely staff but feel a little more attention is need to aspects of the menu.

08/07/2025: Scholars Pub serves delicious food at a fair price, and the menu is relatively extensive for a pub. There's also a wide selection of drinks. The atmosphere is inviting, and I'd be happy to return.

14/07/2025: Awesome atmosphere and great food. Service personnel were extremely kind and service was good, even when we arrived right at opening. Highly recommend the wings or the roast, but all food we tested was excellent.

28/07/2025: Staff were great, food was absolutely delicious, we tried their own stout as recommended, which was nice, bit of coffee aftertaste, but a bit lighter than Guinness. Overall great experience, would highly recommend!

24/07/2025: I visited The Bridge 1859 for lunch on July 17th and was really disappointed with my meal. I ordered the vegan burger, but the bread it was served on was clearly stale — so stale I couldn’t eat it and had to leave it on the plate. As I was with a group, I didn’t want to make a fuss at the time, so I emailed the pub afterwards to share my feedback privately and give them a chance to respond. And I haven’t even received an apology or any reply at all. I had heard good things about this venue, so I was surprised by the lack of care for something as basic as fresh bread — and even more disappointed by the lack of any response or apology. It feels like they don’t respect their vegan customers enough to make sure the food is fresh or to acknowledge valid feedback. I work nearby but unfortunately won’t be returning anytime soon.

19/07/2025: Service was a 10/10. I cried because of a heartbreak and the waiter realised within seconds and tried to comfort me and gave me a cold water. Also the beer and the live music was pretty good. Thank you

23/07/2025: Just what the doctor ordered after leading a hike along the cliffs on a tiny breakfast. Service was swift and friendly and the roast chicken breast and creamed potatoes

20/07/2025: Lovely sunny lunch which was served quickly. Lovely staff and a great spot after a cliff walk, which in my opinion is Dublin's best kept secret. And you can bring your dog!

17/07/2025: Everything is five out of five: Super food with generous portions, great service and lovely staff (which is hard to come by these days!!!), and lovely atmosphere.

23/07/2025: Great pub with excellent food, service, and atmosphere. We greatly enjoyed 2 dinners there on a recent visit to Dublin.

12/07/2025: Came in for dinner, we were greeted promptly and got a table. The booth that we were sitting on was made of a velour material and terribly stained, behind where we were sitting was a massive dead fly. We each ordered the burger which was okay but I was turned off by the lack of cleanliness. Our server was friendly as well as the other servers; however, near the end we were sitting with empty glasses for a while and they would check on the surrounding tables and overlook ours.

24/07/2025: It's one of the top places in Dublin for food. Everything freshly made in their bakery and kitchen. Amazing flavours, colours, and scent. If you are passing by city center, do not miss it out!!! My favourites are the Bacon & Pear sandwich and a slice of their Victoria sponge cake.

20/07/2025: I waited for 20 minutes for a coffee, and they brought me this....I have a nicest mug at home 🤦‍♀️

15/07/2025: I ordered a chicken burger and chips 8.50 for a pint of Coors was a joke when pub next door is 7.20 Food arrived and there was a bone in my chicken burger I brought it to the staffs attention only for the manager to laugh it off and say “it’s only a small bone” Been here a few times before but won’t be coming back anytime soon Bar staff are lovely and welcoming though

11/07/2025: Very relaxed pub vibe. Just had drinks so can't comment on food. €8.80 a pint for IPA.
