The best restaurantsof irish in Dublin

28/03/2026: Went in on Saturday late afternoon to the bar upstairs and ordered a pizza and a few pints and wine for my better half and was getting settled in for the evening after three rounds and food when the staff announced that there was a reservation for the table at 8.15. I understand reservation policies for restaurants but boozers??? Why didnt they tell us upon entry that we couldnt have the table for the evening? It put a downer on the evening. Dont think i will come back after that.

26/03/2026: A quaint and very welcoming pub. The stew and pie are excellent.

19/03/2026: Wanted to celebrate a birthday - got bad service (they only came to us once), food was unexpectedly the worst in Dublin (beef stew completely unsalted, fish&chips also not recommendable). We returned the beef stews to the kitchen - they still wanted to charge it! All 6 of us don’t recommend this place, though the location is stunning.

18/03/2026: Excellent pub, great drinks, very quaint, definitely worth a try. Go with the family during the day, too.

14/03/2026: Lovely hotel right in centre of Dublin 2 mins from GPO. Staff super helpful n friendly. Roberta 5* on reception. Early check-in no extra cost. Bag storage at check out all smooth. Breakfast lovely. welcoming environment. Quaint hotel oozing with history. Great value for money.

10/03/2026: Lovely olde worlde hotel .Comfortable accommodation and friendly staff.Restaurant service was very slow and there seemed to be a kitchen problem on our visit there.Disappointing as we have had good service on other visits.

18/03/2026: A truly unique and unexpected location under the train station. Absolutely stunning. Top-notch service. The food was exceptionally good, and the drinks were, of course, top-notch.

17/03/2026: We stopped by the Bloody Stream for lunch after some hiking and sat in the dining room with the fireplace. The atmosphere was very warm and comfortable and the service was top notch. Our servers were friendly and the food was piping hot and served quickly. The cider on tap was also nice.

28/02/2026: Absolutely brilliant night at Revels on Thursday! Had the burger, with the nicest pepper sauce I've ever had, and pint for €22, which was great value on its own, but the real highlight was the speed quiz. It was absolutely amazing fun and the host really, really brought it all together, great energy, great laughs, and brilliant engagement throughout. What a night of great craic, from start to finish. Highly recommend popping in if you’re looking for good food, a solid pint, and a cracking atmosphere. Thanks for a fantastic night!

27/02/2026: Myself and group of friends went to Revels last night for food and Speed Quiz.. the food was gorgeous ! I had a burger and there was alsa a mix of Tapas , really good food.. the speed quiz was great craic, we will be back next week. Didn’t take photos because we were immersed in trying to answer questions 😂

06/12/2025: Freshly made Haddock with a huge portion, only downside is that it only offers takeaway so the food gets cold really quick, but the fish itself is very nice

19/03/2026: On a recent visit to Dublin, this bar was our favourite! In the heart of the Temple Bar neighborhood, the atmosphere was lively, music was superb, and Gabriella the bartender remembered us from the previous day and made us feel like “regulars”! Nice people serving up a fun time! 🍻 🇨🇦 🇮🇪

12/01/2026: Well my first time here due too a family beverament. Lovely local pub in the heart off Harold's Cross. Pls correct me if I'm wrong. Or just be ond the kcr garage. Very friendly and service a bit slow .but not there fault .soup and sandwiches were on point. I hopefully will be back under different conditions. But over all lovely..

19/12/2025: Love this little hidden café near the Four Courts. Great coffee paired with genuinely friendly, efficient service. It’s a popular spot with the legal crowd, and it’s easy to see why — smooth, high-quality coffee, a lovely selection of pastries and light lunch options, and very reasonable prices. The space is airy and welcoming, with a charming nod to the building’s history (look for the old Medical Mission sign). A small place but well worth seeking out. ❤️🫶🏿

22/03/2026: We visited this restaurant and ordered the steak meal deal for two, and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience from start to finish. The steaks were extremely chewy, almost impossible to enjoy.The wine that came with the meal tasted vinegary and didn’t seem right at all. The overall condition of the restaurant was also quite poor. The place felt grubby and not very clean, and the toilets were in a terrible state. The ladies’ toilet had no soap, which is unacceptable for any restaurant. On top of that, the floors were very slippery, which felt quite unsafe. We paid the full bill but did not leave a tip, as we genuinely did not feel the experience justified it. Overall, it was a very disappointing visit and we would not return.

21/03/2026: Right in the heart of Temple Bar is this fantastic restaurant O'Sheas. You'll find a warm welcome,hearty food and a great atmosphere. We went in on St Patricks night , with 2 seats left, but they found me a garden chair so the 3 of us could share a table...great customer service...and the food....as good as from your mother's kitchen x

07/03/2026: On Friday evening, we walked into McCafferty's without a reservation, expecting it to be full. To our surprise, they managed to find us a table, which immediately made a great first impression. The pub exudes exactly the atmosphere you'd hope for in an Irish pub: warm, cozy, and lively without feeling overcrowded or chaotic. We had a delicious meal there, and the value for money was excellent. Just honest pub food, well-prepared, and reasonably priced. All in all, it was a very successful evening for us. It's a place where you immediately feel welcome, and one we'd definitely return to on our next visit to Dublin.

07/03/2026: I was outside the pub with friends and went inside just to buy drinks and food, something I have done many times before since I’m a regular customer. However, today (March 7th around 5:40 pm) the security guard refused to let me in. He assumed that I wanted to use the bathroom, which was not the case at all. I never even mentioned the bathroom I simply wanted to go in to buy a drink and some food. The way I was treated made me feel embarrassed and humiliated, especially because I come to this pub quite often. I have always had a good impression of the place, but this situation was very disappointing. I hope management reviews how customers are treated in situations like this.
