07/10/2025: Had an absolutely great experience at Corley’s Ballintubber. The food was top class — everything tasted fresh and homemade, and the portions are big and very reasonably priced. The staff couldn’t have been nicer, really friendly and made us feel so welcome from the moment we walked in. The place itself has a great atmosphere, cosy and relaxed but still lively. You can tell they take real pride in what they do here.
Would 100% recommend to anyone passing through or looking for a nice meal out. We’ll definitely be back!

09/10/2025: Love coming here, especially with the family. Shirley and the gang provide top-notch hospitality with a warm and welcoming touch. This restaurant caters excellently for kids, with the choice and quality of the kids menu as good as the main one! Great restaurant to visit also with colleagues and friends - all guests and occasions are catered for with equal dedication and excellence.

Only gripe - two types of potatoes and texture much the same. Should add chips or roast or cubed to provide texture.

03/10/2025: Had a last minute change on a rehearsal dinner for 30 people for my wedding and the wonderful staff got us in last minute. The food was simply amazing. The staff was fantastic. Everything was perfect, and everyone was very impressed with this wonderful restaurant!! Highly recommended.

The Valley House Bar
12/10/2025: We were staying in Dooagh and happened upon The Valley House. Stayed for a few pints and a chat. Absolutely class place, extremely friendly service. We'll check out the accomodation and food on our next visit.
30/09/2025: What a wonderful find on Achill Island! A hidden Victorian house by the sea. A grand estate with a tiny Irish pub in the back. A must visit! The hostel was very well furnished and a comfortable night’s rest. I was very impressed! Breakfast was very generous and a wholesome stay.

We really enjoyed our lunch experience, there was a small issue with the bill and after we highlighted it to the owner 'he was fantastic', he went off and found out how the issue came about. It was delt with it in the most professional manner, which came as a relief. We were refunded the difference and he really appreciated that we had brought this to his attention, well done to him! Best service I have had in quite awhile and food

03/10/2025: Service was friendly and fast. The food portions were huge! We got the mussels and had the best soda bread with it (please send recipe) Got the fish and chips and every bite was tasty. Beers on tap. Lots of space inside and outside. Can't ask for much more.
