24/04/2026: A great waiter really put on a show for me made the pizza right under my nose really made me feel at home he had really nice hair and some stunning eyes. He was about 5’6 or around that with fairly big deltoids and a decent size forehead. He knew loads of Irish was telling me how he has a savage Irish teacher and has great passion for Irish he thought me the phrase “pog mo hon” really nice lad will definitely be coming back☘️🎉🥳

20/05/2026: Totally lived up to the hype, a really special restaurant. Fantastic service from our Hungarian waitress, everything cooked perfectly and full of fresh flavour. An essential stop in Westport.

30/04/2026: We had a lovely meal at The Helm Restaurant. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly service, and super fresh, perfectly cooked monkfish and black sole. A great spot for a casual, enjoyable dining experience.

11/05/2026: We visited Nevin's Restaurant as part of a tour group of 50 people, the staff were excellent, attentive, and kind. The food and drinks all came out so prompty when we had a short time limit and was delicious. Nicest muscles and chowder we've had. Prices were also very reasonable. Very quaint, we wish that we had longer to spend here.

08/05/2026: Stopped here for a break and a bite on my way home. Food was delicious, fresh and great value (really big portion). The menu had a nice selection of food and they also have gluten free options. The staff was great, friendly and professional. Highly recommended.

10/05/2026: I really enjoyed my stay at Valley House Hostel. The place has so much charm and the breakfast was fantastic—definitely a highlight! I stayed in a 10-bed dorm, and everyone was very respectful. Even when a group returned from a night out in the early hours, they were quiet and it didn't disturb my sleep at all. Lovely stay. Highly recommended!

21/04/2026: Very positive experience of a hostel. Stayed in a female only dorm , slept well. Nice pub at back of house , lovely dining and lounge room. Hope to be back.

28/05/2026: When you need a coffee or some sustainance after negotiating the picturesque meandering narrow roadways around the Doolough Valley, drop off at Louisburgh 74 for a taste of the local fare. Great to see young Irish people employed locally. A family run buisness ably supervised by a very elegant granny who saw to everyone's needs while offering a very welcoming atmosphere.

29/03/2026: Food was lovely especially the Lamb shank. Service was terrible, there was a basket with bread taken from my table and I wasn't even fishished with it, it was just swiped by a younger member of staff. There was a younger woman with glasses she was very helpful and professional and another older woman whom was doing the bar . It was those two women whom were carrying the staff.

20/04/2026: Landlord is incredibly friendly and makes sure you feel very welcome and at home. Guinness is excellent too

25/02/2026: What a pub ! The keg under the bar, the Stout is cream, Mick himself is a gentleman, the epitome of hospitality, brings out snacks for the customers, makes welcome and warm conversation. A joy to visit, I shall return !

20/03/2026: It's rare I write reviews but I had to on this occasion given how amazing everything was there last night at the house of plates. Went to house of plates last night for my birthday for a 3 course meal and I cannot praise the food and service enough. 10/10 experience. The food and flavours were sensational just mouth watering. The service was amazing and professional and friendly and there were no time delays with any of the dishes. Also loved the little complimentary starters that were given before our own starters came such as the bread with the beautiful oil and balsamic vinegar. Also the presentation of each dish was beautiful and thoughtfully put together. Thanks for an amazing experience we will be back <3 Páraic and Laura
