The best restaurants in Kildare

14/07/2026: Unfortunately, we've had a disappointing experience with Apache Pizza Kildare on more than one occasion. We gave them a second chance, but both times our order was incorrect, and the pizza we received wasn't what we had ordered. When we returned it the first time, we expected things to improve, but the same issue happened again. The customer service was also poor, and the overall quality of the pizza wasn't great. On the other hand, we've had much better experiences with Apache Pizza Naas, where the service is friendly, orders are accurate, and the pizza is consistently much better.

11/06/2026: If I could rate this Apache 0 stars I would . Was told 30-40 mins wait for a pizza ended up arriving after 1.hour 30 … cold & terrible do yourself a favour and avoid this one

30/03/2026: I am very disappointing with my food, There wasn't enough tomato sauce on the pizza which made it very dry like cardboard. If I could give it zero stars, I would. Don't waste your money on this pizza. Apache Pizza seems to be cutting corners by using fewer ingredients,and the staff when making my food was not wearing gloves.i paid 26 euro for a large pizza which was very dry not enough tomato sauce on the pizza and then I got garlic cheese fries which the staff put hes hand into the tube of cheese without gloves on,health and safe when serving food disgusting.have been they a few time and the pizza was always good but NO more.if i could post a photo of the food I would,the wild bird are going to be very happy today eating all this food I didn't eat because that all it fit for,it's dreadful what a waste of my hard earned money.

26/05/2026: Beef burger was inedible. Must have put a bucket of salt into it. My wife’s stir fry was ok.

30/05/2026: am extremely disappointed with my experience at this pub. The day before our visit, I personally booked a table for five people because we wanted to watch a football match. I specifically asked for a table next to the TV, right by the big screen, and I was assured that this would not be a problem. However, when we arrived, the pub was completely full, and it was obvious that our reservation had not been properly arranged. The staff seemed confused about our booking. One waitress spoke to another, who then told us to wait, and it became clear that no table had actually been reserved for us. There wasn't even a reservation sign on any table. Eventually, we were simply given a random free table that was nowhere near the TV. When we explained that we had specifically requested a table next to the screen, we were taken to another table that was also completely unsuitable. To watch the match from there, we would have had to sit with our heads turned the entire time because of the awkward angle and poor layout. I honestly don't understand why the staff accepted our reservation and confirmed our request if they had no intention of honouring it. If you can't provide what was promised, be honest when taking bookings. Very poor organisation, poor communication, and a frustrating experience overall. This was my first experience at this pub, and it will definitely be my last.

13/05/2026: Number of recent incidents including last night listening to customers sitting at the bar roaring homophobic, racist and sexist slurs whilst the barmaid giggled along with them. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Do better.

10/04/2026: For the B&B they manage above the pub, I could not find a spot to write the google review so writing it here. I left one on booking.com anyway but its important to leave one here too - The carpets were not clean, red wine stains on it (or blood, who knows). The wifi did not work. The TV did not work. For lighting the room only has one option, the ceiling lights and they were really very bright. There was no dustbin in the room. The blinds were not blackout, lights would seep through from the street. The pillows on the bed didn't look clean, pillow covers, thankfully there was another set of pillows in the cupboard that looked fresh (pillow covers too). Lastly, the noise from the pub/bar downstairs at night does not help at all. Got really loud till about 1-2 am on a Saturday night. Lastly, it was very very expensive for what was offered, very poor quality stuff.

25/07/2026: Had a fantastic evening at Royal Garden. The restaurant is beautifully designed with elegant decor that really sets the tone the sophisticated interior, thoughtful styling, and atmospheric touches create an inviting atmosphere. But what impressed me most was how seamlessly the elegant setting paired with genuinely friendly and attentive staff who made us feel welcome throughout. The food itself is excellent. I'm familiar with quality Japanese and Chinese dining in Dublin, and honestly, Royal Garden holds its own against the best competition out there the flavours, presentation, and care put into each dish are top-notch. What really stood out was how everything came together: the pretty surroundings, the warmth of the team, and genuinely high-quality Cantonese cooking. It's the kind of place where you can tell they care about both the experience and the food. The staff are super friendly and professional, great evening, great food. Highly recommend!!!!

06/06/2026: Nice Chinese Very friendly, obliging staff who accommodated us despite having no prior booking. The food was nice with an extensive selection on the menu, not just Chinese but, for example, Thai and Japanese food was available too. Spicy foods are marked clearly.

09/05/2026: Ordered from the wrong royal palace. No idea how. But when I rang they cancelled my order they were very nice about it and refunded me. Really appreciated it so much 🙏 especially since they probably had the food ready

06/04/2026: Spice bag comes with no veg and not much spice just salty. Got the satay sauce which is like a bowl of water and chicken curry very watered down again not much flavour won’t be getting it as a takeaway again!

12/08/2025: Small but also roomy if makes sense, we had a wheelchair. The staff were friendly, very helpful and informative . The food was generous portions and very tasty and felt good and fresh. We ate every crumb , pity bi room for delicious looking desserts especially the Lemon meringue, another day 😀 will visit again.

07/08/2025: Once my favourite restaurant in Athy, now after several inedible meals I have given up. The waiting staff are as lovely as ever, special shout out to Chloe and Katie, but the new chef is ruining the business. What he plates up is an insult. I have tried to speak to the owners, but they are never around. Please Tony and Michael, take charge of your kitchen, as I would hate to see this once delightful establishment close.

09/12/2025: 5 star service!! We had the pleasure of celebrating Jeannes 80th birthday here. We were a very large group. The service and efficiency was excellent, all our food arrived at the same time, hot , tasty and great presentation. The table was set with Jeannes personalized menu with great options. Valerie and Barbara tended to our every need excellent service above and beyond the entire group were very impressed with the staff. I would highly recommend chapter 16 for that special occasion. Thank you for making it a very special day.
