27/04/2025: Great place. Gluten Free Chop Suey is lovely.

12/04/2025: The Singapore fried rice was very good and the portion was massive. Spice bag was well, I'm not sure. The chips were cooked perfectly and the seasoning was as good as you get but the chicken? What was that? I've eaten my fair share of chicken but that was not chicken, certainly not like anything that I have ever tasted. It was oily and had a fat content that even brown meat of chicken does not have. Snake? I'm not sure, it was definitely not chicken.

08/12/2024: pizza was disgusting cold and chicken on pizza was not fresh it was auwfull and smelly we left bin thr pizza and drove home empty stomach

27/11/2024: Myself & my partner decided to visit this restaurant after not being there for quite some time. We were looking forward to it as food was always amazing & staff were lovely. How disappointed could we have been!!!When we went to order we asked the waitress did they still do the "lovely coleslaw" & she told us "no, the chef thinks it's too time consuming to make it" We should have left then!!!! We decided on the wings to share, which were clearly clearly taken out of the microwave & a small bit of hot sauce put over them. The main course consisted of my partner having greasy, heavily battered cod with frozen chips & I having the the part boiled pasta, tossed with boiled chicken & what seemed like a tin of condensed mushroom soup. No taste & absolutely zero effort put into each dish. The so-called "chef" should be ashamed of himself presenting food like this to paying customers. When we complained, the waitress (who to be fair was a lovely lady) understood & didn't charge for the pasta dish. Such a disappointing experience & as locals to the area, we won't be back.

18/03/2025: Always something missing from order usually drinks and sides but have had mains missing. Then take 40 mins to get missing items. If you're lucky enough to get your food you get to look forward to reheated chips, stale prawn crackers and chewy chicken. We order at least once a week in case you're wondering if it was a once off. It was one too many times for us unfortunately and will be finding somewhere else now.

19/05/2025: Seriously best pizza in town. Fresh and soft dough, fruity tomato sauce and very generous on the topics. I specifically love the vegetarian one and look forward to my next order already.

09/11/2024: Undeniably excellent coffee with unfortunately terrible management. I’ve been buying excellent coffee from VDA Naas for years as well as beans for my home machines but I’m having to reconsider supporting them due to their totally unpredictable opening hours. I drove down to the shop today to find them unexpectedly closed. This is 4th time over the last few months this has happened to me. Usually there’s a sign on the door which is annoying but at least it’s an explanation. Opening hours for today (Saturday November 9th) state on Google and their social media they are open until 4pm. I arrived to the shop to find them closed, lights off and no explanation. There was nothing on their social media to explain why. This is no way to run a business. How can I trust that I can enjoy a coffee from VDA Naas if I can never be sure they’re going to be open when I get there? It’s a fundamental expectation for a business to keep regular hours. I’ll reconsider returning in future if there is some sort of effort to improve this but until then, I’ll be taking my custom elsewhere. It’s extremely unfortunate as the coffee is great, the service is always friendly and it’s a lovely space to be in that’s dog friendly to boot. They just need to pull up their socks if they expect to compete with the vibrant coffee scene in Naas.

13/07/2025: The pricing on the menu in the window is different to what I was charged at the till (€16.50 per outside, €20 per till). Brought this to the attention of the server who shrugged her shoulders at me, didn't respond vocally. Food was OK, average. Wouldn't return.

06/06/2025: Great sushi. I've only had takeaway but it has been flawless each time. Amazing selection of all sorts of dishes. My wife loves the Singapore Noodles.

03/07/2025: Royal garden is gone very down hill last few months, used to be a lot of people’s go to Chinese but I avoid it now, food is gone dirt. It’s like they’re using cheaper ingredients, quality is going down and price going up..! Getting orders wrong constantly too

16/07/2025: I just got a bag of chips and the condition of chips is soggy and everything is broken parts. This is the worst chips I ever had. As a local shop this is totally terrible condition. So upsetting me.

25/04/2025: Very attentive service. Very well trained team. Nice menu. Correct number of dishes and variety for the number of seats. Same for the wine list. Fantastic ambience, view and tasteful decor. Nice fixtures, fittings and operating equipment. Real open fire. Good bread. Great value dining experience. Quality commensurate with price. I'll definitely return, repeatedly. Wine glasses are nice quality and the pour is adequate, verging on generous. If I had to find a gripe, foccacia was not really focaccia. But was still nice. Lamb rump was not well hung, slight bloody flavour, not the chefs fault. It was cooked perfectly and was actually lamb, not hogget. Bit economical with the accompanying vegetables. All small issues that would not deter me from visiting again or recommending the Mill.

24/03/2025: Certainly! Here's a review you can use: --- I have been a regular at Insomnia Newbridge for a long time, visiting almost daily with friends and our dog. The manager has always been fantastic—friendly, welcoming, and always accommodating, making the café a great place to relax. However, in the past few days, there seems to be a new supervisor who has made us feel extremely uncomfortable. Their attitude is unwelcoming, and the warm atmosphere we always loved has completely changed. Despite the manager always allowing dogs inside, this new supervisor has suddenly made an issue of it, which feels unnecessary and unfair. We haven’t seen the manager lately, and honestly, it’s disappointing to feel unwelcome in a place we’ve enjoyed for so long. I really hope things go back to the way they were, as this café has always been a staple for us in Newbridge.

11/03/2025: Had an awful coffee (small cappuccino). I can't explain if it was tasting burned or bitter, but it wasn't any good.

26/04/2025: Spice bag was lovely, very big portion, great value. Delivery for me was quick ordered Friday night and was with me in 30 to 35 minutes.

22/02/2025: Originally posted 11 months ago March 24...Food is lovely, but the last few times delivery is taking over an hour. There are closer places in the town I could get from but prefer here, but the length of time delivery takes is starting to put me off, might me something they need to look at. Update Feb 25... Every week the service is getting longer and longer, unfortunately tonight was the breaking point.. over 2 hours for a delivery that cost €50.. it's been the same the last few times and everytime you ring a girl says 'oh he's on his way' that's literally the explanation.. The food is unreal but unfortunately tonight the lack of service lost them a customer.. Back to Hons in Kildare town where they can deliver the food while your hungry...

07/07/2025: Coffee, staff etc good; but the huge question; why you leaving one girl inside the coffeeshop while it’s a lot people around. Two person and me left because we can not wait so long :(

18/04/2025: I visited kildare village a couple of weeks ago and got a coffee from the little hut/coffee van down at the end near the water feature I didn't catch the girls name but she was so incredibly nice good chat friendly and the coffee was fab. I had visited another coffee doc area the week previously (not butlers) and it's was a desperate experience. Butlers will be my go to going forward.

15/06/2025: The place is not what it used to be. We used to go for the experience. Now the prices have gone up, but the offer is less appealing. For example, you used to be able to choose your side. Now it's not included and is on the menu. The water doesn't have ice anymore. The napkins are the reusable kind so they put the cutlery on the table directly. All these take from the experience.
