The best restaurants in Kildare

14/09/2025: Ordered in, asked for takeaway container for very large positions of leftovers. Told us one container was enough, then she said she would pack up food for us. Over half of each leftovers portion was not packaged up and was very rude. Spent 60€ between two starters and main courses and half of it was thrown away because they wouldn’t give out packaging container. Will not be back.

24/08/2025: Changing this review as of August 2025, bumping to 5 stars Food still really good, always consistent. Staff also really friendly. We’re regulars here and it will likely stay that way!

10/11/2025: Absolutely disgusting and rude. My god. 2 samosas for 4.5 euros. Got in the guy did not come to me for a few mins even though I was the ONLY ONE THERE. takes my order and asks me to come back even though I the whole restaurant was empty. I left because I wanted to see what he does. I Come back after 15 mins. He hands me a bag and gives me a warm coke. When I ask for a cold one. He laughed and said he doesnt have any. Can you imagine. Rock hard burger bun. Dirty tasting samosas. 0 star. Hope that guys sees this. My god Shameful

06/09/2025: Nice cosy cafe with a homely atmosphere. I got tea which came on a nice tray with a cute milk pot and tea pot. I also got the pancakes with berries and cream which I forgot to photograph. They were nice but very chewy and I sadly had to ration my berries and cream, I would've liked double the berries and cream.

25/08/2025: I recently stopped by this cozy café and decided to try their turkey melt, an apple, and a flat white. Everything was delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff were wonderful, too. If you’re in the neighborhood, I definitely recommend checking it out. They offer a nice selection of pasta dishes, sandwiches, wraps, and plenty of tasty treats as well.

06/12/2025: We had a lovely celebratory family meal in The Gallops. The food was excellent - so tasty. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

12/01/2026: Popped in on a whim after not being in there for a few years and recalling a not so great experience then, Happy to say the place has definitely improved, food was piping hot and the staff seemed to actually happy to be there and were genuine and engaging, we enjoyed it so much we’ve been back in a few times now, highly recommend the waffle fries. a young gentleman with glasses always compliments our tattoos. Keep up the good work!

22/11/2025: Absolutely the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. The beef was basically inedible—flimsy, tasteless, and buried under nothing but soggy onions and a couple of thin scraps pretending to be meat. It didn’t taste fresh at all, and I wasn’t the only one who noticed; I saw 3 people sending their plates back. Overall, a completely disappointing experience. Entire experience here felt like a scam. The food was clearly made with the cheapest, bare-minimum ingredients, yet they charged premium prices as if it were high-quality. To make it worse, they added a eur 2.50 per person service charge. When I complained, the staff simply said “thank you” and handed me the bill — no apology, no explanation, nothing. It was dismissive and unprofessional. I left feeling completely ripped off. I won’t be returning, and I strongly recommend others stay away.

17/01/2026: Nice grub, kids find the takeaway better than the other chinese tho you have to specify crispy chicken in some orders, food can bé spicy enough, service is good always ample servers milling around. Decor is nice.

14/12/2025: Very attractive layout with a slightly raised and pleasant view over the The Square in Kilcock. A bit pricey for some items.

20/11/2025: I’m not satisfied with the behavior of some of the staff. They play loud music without considering the customers. Some people come to the café to enjoy a quiet moment with their coffee or to study. Customers should be respected in all circumstances.

03/05/2025: Not a very good experience, Rashers and pudding rock hard, very overdone. Chips and mushrooms very undercooked. Wrap was very dry. Service not the best. Will not be back.
