The best restaurants in Kildare

05/05/2025: Since we moved near the area, we ordered multiple times from this place. The food was really great. The shop is really clean and has a good vibe. Staff is knowledgeable and engaging in conversation. One time, they had sent us a miss pick, and they profesionnaly corrected the issue. We can tag ourselves as happy customers.

08/04/2025: Just grabbed a burger one night. It wasn't anything outstanding it was just a typical chipper burger.

18/07/2025: Our first time in Ireland & this was our first coffee of the trip and it was easily one of the best we’ve ever had!!! Delicious!!! And lovely service.

01/07/2025: Loved that you could drive through, or go up and have a look at the menu. The people who own it, are so kind, and friendly.

27/07/2025: Used to be a regular, especially as it's the only outdoor lunch venues in the area but unfortunately the quality of the dishes keeps getting lowered while the prices are going up. Had a beef stir fry , daily special and had to leave the beef in the plate as it was hard rock gummy. It was impossible to swallow. I ate the noodles and vegetables with the sweet sour sauce. My husband also had a main and we had one tea and soft drink. Total: 50 euro. For two mediocre dishes and 2 drinks.. I would have provided the feedback on the dish, but no one asked how my food was. Not at the table or later when paying at the counter. I ended up having a mild indigestion about 30 min after. . It's a real pity . The only reason I don't rate it with 1* it's because of the memory of what it used to be.

29/06/2025: The food here is lovely , it can be quite loud and can be very pricey in here but the food is normally worth it. Today was a busy day with the races on. There were two servers that came across as quite rude and I'm not a fan of someone rolling their eyes at me when I asked for a juice for my son and also when we asked for sauces. The lady with the blonde hair ( perhaps owner or manager) was very pleasant as always!! I remember her from TRI also , always very helpful and polite!! We will still return as we come here quite often just on quieter days 🙂

20/08/2025: Paid for food and half way down the motorway discovered that they didn't put half the food in the bag. When I rang them the manager said there's a credit note here for you but the store is in Naas and I'm in Dublin so not much good to me.

11/08/2025: Well that's disappointing. Heard great things about this place recently. Had food there a LONG time ago and was great. Unfortunately the recent experience was nothing more than embarrassing for all involved. Food was good. Service and after service was worse. Charged me more than I ordered. Refused a refund. Waitress (lovely girl) had to step in. She sorted it. Well I thought she did. Same bill came out. Again. Same girl had to sort it but this time told to go away by management. End of story , we paid double!!!!

27/07/2025: Altogether a really pleasant experience here at Fate Restaurant. The food was delicious and very well presented. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The decor is lovely even though we were a party of 10 we were looked after with great professionally and all received our meal at the same time. Excellent 👍

25/04/2025: When you bring your small child into places like these, you don’t expect them to be knocked down by an adult staff member. If you’re working around small children, your main priority should be to be mindful of where you’re going. My 13 month old daughter was knocked down with an extreme force by one of the girls working there that she sent my daughter flying and hitting the side of her head on the steering wheel of one of the trikes. It was very difficult to console her that even breastfeeding wasn’t helping. She’s left with a big swollen red mark and now we’re going to have to get her seen by a doctor for a peace of mind to make sure there’s no fracture. I understand this was an accident, but this experience coupled with waiting 40 minutes for two simple sandwiches has put me off from ever coming back. Good selection of toys though but not worth a 20 minute drive. EDIT: Even though I had a terrible experience due to an accident, ironically enough, I still recommended this place to some of my friends with the little ones. Don’t get me wrong, this cafe is a great place if your child is 2,5+ years old, but I wouldn’t bring a 1 year old here, let alone a baby. It just doesn’t feel safe. To the girl who accidentally pushed her: I worked as a waitress myself so I understand how hard this was for you, and am genuinely sorry that we both went through this. Please also understand that seeing my daughter get pushed and injured at such a young age was very shocking and upsetting and it changed a whole day for us. What further disappointed us was that 15 minutes after the incident, no one came over to check in on us or speak to us about what happened. I stand behind what I said about the long wait on the food, but if you come here for a quick snack and a cup of coffee, you’ll probably be fine.

22/04/2025: It's paradise for young kids! Brought my 18 month old who is an absolute rascal and he was loving it! Looooads of toys and activity tables etc for kids up to 4-5yo. Nice little menu for both kids and adults. Great for parties too! Spend as much time as you like, there's tables and chairs for chilling out. Shoes are left outside the room by everyone so it's actually fairly clean! Very happy with our first time over all 😊 definitely coming back!

01/06/2025: Dropped in to buy a takeaway coffee. Girls chatting away finally turned around to counter to take my order. Used the bathroom, no toilet roll, no soap, plenty of water on floor. Coffee not even filled to top, 4.10e!! It's a no from me.
