29/08/2026: The machine never has the drink you pay for. Then when you ask for refund it's made a big deal out of. Why would they let you pay for a drink they don't have.

13/05/2026: Food is beautiful here. Tapas are great portions , Prawns an Bree are gorgeous. Atmosphere is nice im surprised this place isn't busier. Guinness is lovely also. Staff are all very friendly . Food comes out abit slow but they use authentic and good quality produce .

07/09/2026: They charge a 12% fee on every bill. This is unacceptable. We should have walked out on that fact alone, but sadly this hotel does not have many other options for just a regular meal. The food was good and the service was somewhat polite. The restaurant itself is nicely arranged and was designed well. If you come on the weekend prepare yourself for a large crowed.

03/06/2026: Historic building, yet modern and comfortably furnished, very friendly and helpful staff. You walk in the historical footsteps of Guinness here. Would gladly return.

30/05/2026: Hello, Stayed here in April and had a bad experience with a Sibella! So on my arrival I noticed my heating system was set very high. While trying to adjust it I noticed it was actually broken and set on high. I contacted the receptionist several times to tell them I’m actually cooking in the room. Eventually someone came but did nothing. Contacted the hotel after and Sibella told me she’d discount my next stay! When contacting Sibella I then received zero reply! Also breakfast should be missed…

21/08/2026: God forbid you use their pizza editing you'll only get the complete opposite of what you want

16/08/2026: Pizza was left sitting in the restaurant ages for a driver to pick it up, over 30 minutes. Then when the driver did pick it up, they went on a trip around Kildare. Food was stone cold and wedges were still raw. Last time I'll be ordering. Reviews on Just Eat have also put me off ordering again because the amount of people who don't even receive their order is crazy, there's so many!

12/08/2026: I'd like to commend the lady staff at the counter during the evening of August 9. She assisted us in retrieving our online takeaway order as we did not receive any confirmation email that would have included our order number yet we were charged accordingly. Glad for the help as it would have been a disastrous night for my kids if they didn't get their fried chicken fix for the weekend. 😅

03/08/2026: I regularly order a large meal at the drive-through, but most of the time I'm given what looks like a small portion of fries instead of a large one. It's happened often enough that it feels like a recurring issue. I'm not sure if the staff aren't properly trained or if it's being done intentionally, but it's disappointing to pay for a large meal and not receive the correct portion. I hope management looks into this and ensures customers get what they pay for

28/09/2025: One of the best restaurants in Lucan/Leixlip/Celbridge/Maynooth area. The Dover sole meunière was simply outstanding. Better than fish I’ve had in Sole Dublin. Service was great too. Sound bunch!

13/09/2026: My sister got married at Burtown House in August. On arrival the day before the wedding, it was immediately evident that she wasn’t going to receive the wedding she had been promised. The owner was abrupt and rude. My sister had paid for exclusive access to the find out that a festival was taking place elsewhere on the grounds. He also threatened to cancel her wedding. On the day, the microphones didn’t work for the speeches, and they hadn’t ordered enough of the wine that had been requested for the entirety of the event. The only saving grace was that a kind lady called Emma was made the wedding coordinator and she did her best to make the day run as smoothly as possible, even though the owner had made that very difficult for her. I would not recommend this venue for a wedding.

07/09/2026: I attended a wedding at Burtown House recently and, as a guest and family member of the bridal party, I wanted to share my experience. The venue itself is beautiful, but unfortunately there were several things that took away from what should have been a very special day. It was also clear that the bridal party were extremely upset by a number of issues throughout the day, including problems with the service and organisation, and aspects of how the wedding was managed. From what I personally witnessed, there were a couple of incidents during the speeches where items caught fire from the tea lights on the tables. On one occasion, a napkin set alight and ended up on the floor, with a guest having to stamp it out. I appreciate that the candles were part of the wedding arrangements, so I wouldn’t put the responsibility entirely on the venue. However, I was concerned that the fire alarm did not appear to activate. There was also a dog running around inside during the wedding breakfast, which I found inappropriate during a formal meal. During the welcome drinks outside, there was also dog poo on the grass where guests were standing and drinking, which should have been dealt with before guests arrived. Overall, while Burtown House is undoubtedly a beautiful setting, the issues experienced on the day, alongside the upset caused to the bridal party, left me feeling that the organisation and attention to detail fell short of what I would expect from a wedding venue of this standard.

18/07/2026: Asked for chicken fillet burger meal, square cod and children’s nugget meal poor quality isn’t the word fish was like a brick handful of chips children’s meal was fine but how hard is it to make chicken nuggets avoid like the plague. Returned for a full refund which I got only thing that was positive about it. See photos attached

30/05/2026: am extremely disappointed with my experience at this pub. The day before our visit, I personally booked a table for five people because we wanted to watch a football match. I specifically asked for a table next to the TV, right by the big screen, and I was assured that this would not be a problem. However, when we arrived, the pub was completely full, and it was obvious that our reservation had not been properly arranged. The staff seemed confused about our booking. One waitress spoke to another, who then told us to wait, and it became clear that no table had actually been reserved for us. There wasn't even a reservation sign on any table. Eventually, we were simply given a random free table that was nowhere near the TV. When we explained that we had specifically requested a table next to the screen, we were taken to another table that was also completely unsuitable. To watch the match from there, we would have had to sit with our heads turned the entire time because of the awkward angle and poor layout. I honestly don't understand why the staff accepted our reservation and confirmed our request if they had no intention of honouring it. If you can't provide what was promised, be honest when taking bookings. Very poor organisation, poor communication, and a frustrating experience overall. This was my first experience at this pub, and it will definitely be my last.

13/08/2026: Lovely place that we stumbled upon one recent afternoon. The food was good and prices were great. Very student and budget friendly with €5 cocktails available Monday-Thursday. The drinks were quality too. They also had good food deals available throughout the week and portions were generous too. Our server was also lovely.
