02/08/2026: Slow service, not so nice staff!

19/07/2026: This place is full of surprising and wonderful pieces. I stopped in randomly to ask a question about a piano and the owner was so generous with his time. If you're in the market for special, beautiful, loved antiques you need to start here. Though only 3 pianos on display they were three high quality pieces, one in particular I wanted to take home with me.

19/05/2026: Lively the night we were there with a good atmosphere. Wine served by the small bottle which is preferable in a pub.

09/09/2026: We arrived at the restaurant just as they were closing, but the young lady and gentleman working were incredibly kind and welcoming and happily seated us. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble, and we felt so well looked after. We are already looking forward to coming back and dining here again. We genuinely couldn’t fault a thing — a lovely restaurant, delicious food and fantastic service. Highly recommended!

26/07/2026: We discovered this restaurant about 4 years ago, and it has been our go-to spot for dine-in and takeaways. The food is exceptional, and the staff is amazing. I cannot recommend this enough!

12/09/2026: Quite disappointing on the falling of this cafe. Came in with my fiance today , got a caramel latte with coconut milk, the jug wasn’t washed out by the barista which contains regular milk from previous customer. The shot of coffee was not only burnt but on top of that the coconut milk was burnt and turned into a cappuccino:/ . My fiance got a vanilla flat white which also contained a burnt shot and burnt milk. Very disappointing experience, support local cafes instead!

26/09/2026: Ate here as we were at a loose end for an early dinner. To say the meal was good would be a massive undersell. 35 euro for a 3 course early bird represents one of the best values for money anywhere. The sirloin on the bone, could not commend it highly enough. Cooked perfectly, finished with maldon salt. I ate earlier in the week in a steak restaurant in Dublin (known for their steaks). What they served didn't come close to the one I got in Arkle. Genuinely, an absolute gem of a restaurant. The setting, service, quality all 5/5.

14/09/2026: Hands down the worst dinner I’ve ever had. Service was nonexistent. We went in & found a table very easily particularly for a Sunday. After about ten minutes nobody had approached us so my husband went to the bar to order drinks & ask for menus. After 35 mins a waitress came to our table to say she was sorry but there had been a delay in the kitchen & our meals would be out shorty. I did notice that two tables that had been seated after us were half way through their food by the time ours had finally been brought out. My eldest daughter & I had order chicken supreme ( one of my favourite dishes) it was tiny! It came with two tiny carrots & something with a very rubbery texture, I genuinely couldn’t make out what is was. My husband & youngest daughter both had the fish & chips, an extremely large portion it has to be said but very expensive. We all were very disappointed with our meals extremely bland with no flavour. When it came time to pay the bill I noticed all the staff had disappeared, no one on the floor or behind the bar. Eventually a guy came back behind the bar & I went up to pay. Normally the general question is” was everything ok?” Nope I had the bill thumped down on the bar & I was told to check it. Luckily I did as we had been charged for an extra drink. Now I will say we did eat the meals as we knew the chances of find ing availability on a Sunday afternoon is slim. It really was a shame it’s a lovely looking hotel & bar and the receptionist at the front desk was lovely but o ce you step into the bar everything changes. Fair to expensive for poor service & bad food!

23/08/2026: went for dinner to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary as we had gotten married there. every single member of staff that we encountered was exceptionally good at their jobs. simply couldn't fault any of them, bar staff went above and beyond, our waiter was very knowledgeable and picked a beautiful wine for me, everyone had a smile and a few words. my only negative comment would be the screaming coming from the kitchen. while the food was delicious and my compliment to the team for producing such delicious plates...I would suggest that the chef who feels the need to scream at the staff every time they need 'service' to perhaps find a more respectful way to communicate with your excellent team of waiters and waitresses, as I'm quite sure they are not deaf! thank you all for making our night so enjoyable , you are all fab!

The restaurant is beautifully designed with elegant decor that really sets the tone the sophisticated interior, thoughtful styling, and atmospheric touches create an inviting atmosphere. But what impressed me most was how seamlessly the elegant setting paired with genuinely friendly and attentive staff who made us feel welcome throughout. The food itself is excellent. I'm familiar with quality Japanese and Chinese dining in Dublin, and honestly, Royal Garden holds its own against the best competition out there the flavours, presentation, and care put into each dish are top-notch. What really stood out was how everything came together: the pretty surroundings, the warmth of the team, and genuinely high-quality Cantonese cooking. It's the kind of place where you can tell they care about both the experience and the food. The staff are super friendly and professional, great evening, great food. Highly recommend!!!!

19/09/2026: Delicious food 😍👌🏼just amazing. My children wouldn’t stop saying how good the sushi was and ate nearly the whole thing and then I tried it and yeah I agreed Best sushi we have had in ages. 🤤 I honestly feel bad about the horrible reviews people have left here. We had a beautiful evening and they were very welcoming kid friendly and efficient. They are only missing beer in draft. I can’t wait to go back again!

12/09/2026: We came here with the whole family today, and without a doubt, it’s the best Asian restaurant we’ve ever been to! ❤️ The staff are so warm and friendly, the sushi was amazing, and the seafood futomaki were actually huge and absolutely delicious! 😍 And a special mention for the Salt & Chilli Chicken Wings! I often get them as a takeaway. We’ll definitely be coming back here from now on. Highly recommend! ❤️
