The best restaurants in Kildare

22/09/2025: We were quite a large party for the restaurant, 13 in total but they were very accommodating. The occasion was a birthday. The party included a 93 yr old, 2 type 1 diabetics and 2 people on restricted diets for health reasons. The menu was varied, lots of options for everyone and the staff were very helpful. The food was excellent, everyone was very happy with their choices. Highlight included chicken in porcini mushroom sauce (main) and the calamari (starter); younger party members had pizza and loved it. The atmosphere was very relaxed and pleasant; no rushing, attentive staff without being intrusive and good value for money. Highly recommend if you're looking a great dining experience in Newbridge!

16/08/2025: Unfortunately, can't give negative here. We used to be Indie spice regular clients. Dal tadka, acchari chicken and roti was our go to food every Friday with our friends. Something changed a few months back and we stopped ordering food and last night thought of trying again... EPIC FAILLL. I mean for an Indian place how can you mess up dal so badly, tasteless dal and chana masala(it was just tomato puree and canned tomatoes, no taste to it).Noone wanted to have another spoon. Very disappointing!!

02/03/2025: Had a lovely meal here last night with my daughter and my sister whilst staying in kildare town for the night. The food was absolutely gorgeous i had chicken satay very generous portion and the service was brilliant! Would highly recommend ♥️

09/06/2025: 7 of us went for dinner here after our barge trip - #bargetrip.ie Service was excellent and the food was first class. Our group would particularly recommend the roast beef and the chicken supreme but there was a good choice on the menu, something to suit everyone.

20/03/2025: We have recently moved to Newbridge and used Dora Mays catering for hosting friends and family. The sandwiches were so fresh and delicious. We got hot food also and they delivered it in a hot dish that we lit and kept the food hot. I have used them twice now and will use them in the future. Thanks very much

27/01/2025: I cannot recommend Dora Mays Catering enough. She took an order last minute and the service was amazing. The sandwich platters are to die for and everyone commented on how good they were and how fresh the bread was. I will definitely be ordering again.

28/09/2025: I came here with my family to get some dinner and we were refused entry at the door because my husband is an Irish traveller. The staff were rude and did not treat us fairly. They let other people in for food but did not let us in. Would not recommend.

15/09/2025: I used to come here often with family and coworkers and it was always a great spot. Sadly, the place has really gone downhill. The food has become bland and poorly made, service is slower and less attentive, and even the cleanliness isn’t what it used to be. It’s disappointing because this used to be one of the best pubs around. I hope management takes this seriously and brings back the quality that made it worth visiting. I will be delighted to come back and edit my review once it’s back to what it used to be.

13/10/2025: Ordered food online(two pizzas) as I had received a gift voucher, excited to try. On the order it said pick up was 19:14, arrived on time and paid with my voucher. Waited patiently and at 19:50 finally got my two pizzas with no explanation or apologies(not sure how long it usually takes them to make two pizzas but could of made at home myself in half the time). I was hungry but relived to get my pizzas and accepted this wait. Walked around the corner to my car and was chased down by a member of staff accusing me of not paying, had to go back in potentially on front of customers and explain I had previously paid with the voucher when I first went in. No attempts to make it right by the staff. Never felt as ashamed in my life, was treated liked a thief. Stay away.
