The best restaurants in Kildare

28/09/2025: One of the best restaurants in Lucan/Leixlip/Celbridge/Maynooth area. The Dover sole meunière was simply outstanding. Better than fish I’ve had in Sole Dublin. Service was great too. Sound bunch!

23/08/2025: Attentive, friendly service. The sea food platter is generous in size and v nice.

01/11/2025: I visited with my two very young children and had my childrens water bottles confiscated from me on the way in. I felt like making a stand and arguing that surely depriving children of water was against all that is right and true in this world, but I didn't have the energy. Instead I write this review as a warning to any other parents. Think twice before visiting this place. Play zone is cheaper and gives you better service

30/10/2025: The bowling was great and my Grandsons enjoyed it as usual, however, there was a very noticeable lack of staff with only one person to be seen, the upstairs area needs supervision as there was one group playing football at the top of the stairs and a group of teenagers playing with basket balls taken from the basketball game.....most annoying

19/10/2025: This had to be the best Thai food I’ve ever had. The red curry was top tier. It was sweet and spicy. The pad Thai was decadent. If you love Thai food. This place is fab.

14/10/2025: Delicious Saturday morning breakfast. It was nice to have a variety of options, the waffles with fresh fruit were delicious!

14/10/2025: €1000 deposit promised in hotel credit after having to cancel my event. I cancelled my event leaving approx 18 months notice. my circumstances were completely through no fault of either party. I called to inform the osprey of what had happened as soon as i possibly could and i was assured by a lady on the phone that they could make an exception for me seeing as my circumstances. i understand that returning a deposit is normally unheard of but it was €1000 and it really was cancelled giving an abundance of time to resell or rebook the date. i called back shortly after my baby was born to be told that the agreement would not be upheld. the called 13 time to speak to the manager. After this time i was told i would receive a call back. That was over a month ago. I used to love this hotel.

12/09/2025: Disgraceful treatment at reception and actually deserves a negative star review for the way that they treat customers. I have never given a negative review on google as most business need as much support as possible. However, my experience trying to check in to this hotel tonight has left me very angry. I have stayed at this hotel regularly for the past 20 something years. I stayed there for one night this week already on Monday night and booked 2 nights for later in the week for Thursday and Friday nights. I called the hotel earlier in the evening to let them know that I would be arriving late because I got caught in work. After a very long and hard day at work, I arrived at 11:30pm to check in after driving 3 hours from Cork. The man at reception was incredibly rude and ignorant to me but I didn’t take much notice until he asked me for my card to confirm the booking. I told him that I would just pay with my phone (Apple Pay) as I usually do. He said he needed to see my card to prove my identity. I told him that I did not have my card on me but I showed him my drivers licence which showed my picture, identity and address. Also, I wouldn’t have had the card with me that the reservation was made with because my wife made the booking for me with her card. He would not accept this and would not allow me to check into the hotel, even though I offered to pay there and then. The regular bar man happened to walk past at the time and asked me if I was alright and I explained the situation to him. He was also surprised and in fairness he tried his best to help but the rude man on reception who told me he was the manager said that he called their operations department or something like that and they would not allow me to stay. So at almost midnight after a very long day I had to walk out of the hotel and try to find somewhere else to stay for the night. It was one of the most bizarre and annoying experiences that I have ever had at a hotel. Needless to say that I will never set foot inside that hotel again and I would recommend anyone to avoid it if you can. Nobody needs to be treated like that. An absolute disgrace.

09/08/2025: Good amount of pumps to fill the tank, clean place, has some option for eating like sandwiches, coffees and chocolates, but nothing fancy. Still a petrol station on the end of the day.
