The best restaurants in Kildare

18/07/2026: We visited Delhi Bar & Restaurant recently and had a mixed experience overall. The plating was absolutely beautiful and the atmosphere was lovely. The puri prawn was tasty with a lovely chaat-like flavour, though the portion size was small. The garlic coriander bread was good. However, the garlic chilly chicken tikka starter was very hard and dry — it appeared to have been reheated. When flagged to the waitress, we only received an apology with no follow-up from the chef or manager. The rice portions were disappointingly small for the price. The biggest letdown was the Chettinad chicken masala — it lacked salt, flavour, and honestly bore no resemblance to a Chettinad dish at all. The only saving grace was the toffee pudding with ice cream, which was delicious despite being slightly underheated inside. Overall, while the presentation and ambiance impressed, the food quality needs serious improvement.

21/01/2026: The food was fantastic at this restaurant! The service was but there were some personal that were a little rude. The atmosphere was pretty well with a flavour of Italian here and there.

02/08/2026: Never been here before and decided to go get some breakfast here for a change. location is nice, and i’d say it’s even nicer on a hot day. there were tables both outside and inside so nice to choose. staff were lovely, and were very good when we asked about gluten free options. i got gluten free toast, scrambled egg and bacon and it was really nice!! my mam got eggs benedict and she did enjoy it, only thing is she would say to cook it then tiniest bit longer. we only had a couple of issues: - staff were lovely, but it does take them a minute to notice you’re ready to order. i’d just say to be a bit more focused, but none of them were rude and we’re all nice!! - as someone with celiac disease, i have to avoid gluten at all costs as it makes me severely ill for weeks if i accidentally eat any. whilst there were no issues with breakfast, i did notice when we were at the till paying, they had a little display of pasties and such. they did have a vegan and gluten free brownies, but as someone who cannot eat food that has even the tiniest bit of gluten from cross contamination, the way it’s displayed it absolutely not safe for someone with celiac. that amount of contact is enough to trigger a reaction that can last for weeks. for someone with a gluten intolerance or sensitivity, they might be okay, but if you are to offer those deserts to someone with celiac, make or order in new ones as the ones in display are not safe, and separate them completely from the rest of the desserts!!

26/06/2026: 5 stars, wery nice pub. For whoever trawels along grand canal on e-bike it is perfect place to recharge. Ther's a backjard with 6 avaiable sockets so multiple bikes can be charged at once, there's beer an food. Wery nice place to make a rest stop, I highly recomend this place

05/07/2026: A local recommended and so happy we came here. Brilliant bright atmosphere with friendly service. Lovely breakfast and coffee. Adorable quaint riverside.

24/05/2026: Love this restaurant. Food is absolutely fab. Whether it be dinner lunch or breakfast, the breakfast is actually outstanding with great choice too. Huge kids portions. Great presentation, lovely staff and great prices. A great asset to the town. 10/10.

18/10/2025: We stopped here for a nice Guinness in a unique pub atmosphere. The pub was lovingly decorated, with lovely little seating areas and an atmosphere reminiscent of the good old days. The parlor door was also a highlight, and the fireplace in the far corner made the pint taste twice as good.

14/08/2026: A French family on holiday found the place very nice and the service pleasant, but the prices are expensive for the quality; the chicken burger at 23 euros is definitely not worth it 😅

03/05/2026: Just got dinner- very good would definitely go again! The wings were GREAT. I’d go back just for them. The pasta could’ve had more seasoning but the fish was super fresh and the fries with gravy were very tasty. Some of the best food I’ve had in Ireland.

06/02/2026: We had such a fantastic time here with the boys. The atmosphere and food were outstanding. Unfortunately my dog, Lisa 🐶, didn't win this time but better luck next time. If only her legs ran as fast as her mouth! Ha..Ha.. We had a great night out. Looking forward to coming back.

08/08/2026: Nice location but thats it unfortunately. Very expensive. €4.80 for an ice pop and €7 for a small milkshake is extortionate. Plus the coffee wasn't good at all, full of ground coffee bits
