The best restaurants in Kildare

03/05/2025: Good variety of facilities to keep you and the kids entertained. Can become very expensive, especially if you have several children.

29/04/2025: So first of all I will say the staff were amazing. However i booked 3 lanes for 14 people. 1 person wasn't able to attend which was fine and staff were unable to refund which again i undersrand the booking system. When we arrived I went to order 4 beers 1 coffee and 9 slushy drinks. I was told we had to order food to get the 3 beers which was no problem so I ordered pizza. Then i was told that they actually had no beer only zero zero Heineken so I cancelled the beer and the pizza and kept the slushy order. This took 30 minutes. We got on the lanes and were then told the slushy machine was broken / needed to be filled so we couldn't get those drinks either. Again the staff were lovely and did everything to help but as I had organised the day it was a bit embarrassing that no one could actually get what they ordered. We eventually got the slushys half way through the second game. I had ordered cokes in the mean time and although we had a good evening and made the most of it I was very disappointed and again a bit embarrassed as it was myself who had booked the evening. I would recommend a stock take or re advertise what's actually available. The drinks fridges were practically empty. It was a family evening so we weren't there to drink but a beer for the couple of men in our group would have been nice. Please take this as a constructive comment as I really enjoy Base and have done for years. What's advertised on the menu is what should be available when visiting. Kindest regards Amanda Slattery

12/05/2025: We had their Gastro Sticky Wings, Baby Back Ribs, Fish & Chips & of course of pint of Guiness. Food was great, especially the wings. Crispy, juicy and full of flavor! Service was great. Patrick was attentive and friendly, which made our experience even better.

09/05/2025: We ordered food for delivery and an hour and 45 minutes later we called to enquire where it was and were told their system was down and they had just gotten our order and we’d have to wait another 45 minutes. A simple phone call alerting us that there was a problem would’ve saved a lot of aggravation. No sign of a refund as yet. I have a feeling I’ll have to follow up with that too. Very disappointing.

10/02/2025: Fine traditional pub with a loyal local clientèle. The Guinness is poured carefully and the pub serves the best pints in the area. Friendly place.

08/02/2025: El camarero principal parecía encantador y amable. Barmaid parecía un poco hostil al pedir unos cuantos Baby Guinness al final de la noche antes de hacer nuestro camino. Baby Guinness € 6. 50 cada uno parece una locura hoy en día 😔

12/05/2025: Abousility fabulous hotel the rooms are verry spacious the staff are excellent overall is rate this hotel 100% and highly recommend a visit

06/05/2025: Great family room. Very good food and service at breakfast. Leisure center has a great pool and suitable for kids. Bit run down (poor doors, old lockers and wet floors) but a good family option if the transition to the leisure center was done up and bit.

16/04/2025: Can't really comment on food but overall it was great the coffee by the river is a great experience

07/04/2025: Stopped for lunch on Sunday. We were initially seated in the car park and were completely ignored by young staff. I went into ask for service and there were four servers behind the till looking utterly confused. We managed to then get a seat inside. The view from the deck was lovely but the service remained a shambles. One patron was extremely loud and swearing like a trooper despite children at the table next to him. Once he left and the food arrived things got better. A lady who looked like she was the owner/ manger arrived on the floor and she was much more organised andin control. Food was good, service from the young staff was poor. Potential to be a good spot but I won't risk it again unfortunately 😕

18/03/2025: Fabulous coffee and always a friendly welcome. The loyalty card is great too - doesn’t take me long to fill them up. Having a drive thru option in Naas town is so handy and I treat myself often. Support local!

30/10/2024: What a place!!!!!!! If you are a tourist, don't be afraid, it's locals place and there you will find a proper Kildare Town welcome. All of them beer drinkers are locals and what a characters you will find. I remember one of them even offered me to share his pint bottle of Bulmers hahahha. Well, if you are in town you have to drop by for a proper black shtuff. AMAZING place!!!!!!

10/05/2025: Had an amazing time last night thanks to our lovely waitress Emily, she made sure our drinks came on time and offered us great recommendations for cocktails. Will definitely come back
